I can't believe how easy this was, thank you! This worked perfectly! I dowloaded the file as an XML and later when I opened it in microsoft word, I didn't even have to clean up the document.. only the subtitles appeared.
what about on mac? i am trying but when i press open in new tab its just an html document with codes n weird stuff, also there r like 20 files with 0?= to pick from
You are a life saver! One question tho, is there a way to show the time in which the subs appear in the actual video for example 00:02:56 "this dude said that" or something like that?
it exists. just scroll up) Initially also couldn't find it, but then I noticed that it showed me middle part of this table. Scroll up after clicking the coloumn "name"
No sé cómo hacer la parte de la codificación, al pasarlo en word esta´el ms-dos, windows, y otros", pero creo que ninguno va sabrás hacerlo en windows?
In my case it is a text edit file and I can't choose Word to open that file. Any ideas? I have used the Chrome browser. The text edit file is unfortunately crypted, makes no sense .. to me :)
@@ethanlocal-vv9xj well of course I tried that. :D As I wrote in my comment, I can't choose Word to open that file .. though I have the Microsoft package installed.
Nevermind , I got it. For anyone else who finds that this happens, just right click on the content once it opens in the new tab and save. Once saved, find in your cpu file and open in word. You won’t have to make any adjustments, it’s clean.
It did work last year but not now I don't know why. Do you have any idea how can I download the file? I clicked 'open file in a new tab' but the file wasn't downloaded.
Oh I got it now from a comment below. Saved my life! Btw, your video on this topic is the best one out there. Would give you a million likes if I could.
@@ForeverJack69 Some UA-cam videos with closed captions have a "view transcript" option, which allows you to essentially ctrl+F search through the entire transcript of the video. Super helpful for finding stuff in longer videos which don't include chapters yet.
You just saved me and my paper from a lot of time manually transcribing subtitles. Thanks so much!

it just opened it on another tab without downloading it :(
Well, that video was very well done. Impeccably and clearly explained. Easy to understand. Very good.
Tried this today on a Russian show on Netflix to get the Russian subtitles. Worked like a charm!
FYI you need the files that *start* with ?o= (rather than all the ones that just contain it)! Click on the 'Name' header to sort the filenames
@@hayleysuitts9166there are 5 or 6 that start with ?o=
This is the best instructional video I have ever seen.

Thank you so very much! This made finding quotes super easy for me!
You are a genius. Thank you for making this video!
I'll try it today, thanks a lot for such a clean set instructions. If it works then I'll be super happy.
Great video. However, I could not open the file in microsoft office. Any tips?
I'm not sure if I have enough to know what's happenign there - I hope you've figured it out (:
Some arap, Japanese, marathi didint work this way. How to fix it
well, it's great but i can't find a larger one file, i mean here only one file is start with ?o and it's just one page. What can i do with that?
what if the ?o= doesn't exist when following the steps?
I couldn't do it either

I'd give you a million thumbs up if I could. A truly useful video. Thank you
Can I ask how you could do it? Which browser did you use and if you used a MacBook? I tried to download the subtitles but it didn't work this time.
