Well done London you took care of the Olympics well, and made these seventeen days an outstanding and by far the best I've ever had. The Olympic opening ceremony was amazing, the closing ceremony was beautiful. It's amazing how time flies. These Olympics were the best Olympics ever done. I can't wait for the Paralympics, and for the Olympics in Rio, where everyone will be talking about the Olympics once again. We have never been more closely united than for the past two weeks. Thank you London
I listened to it. then listened again...and again and again and again until i could play it on the piano as well as sing. i first saw the video and heard the song after randomly browing the Olympics videos...I teared up as soon as the chorus kicked in...Damn...I love you all. please stop this fighting, not just on the internet but everywhere. We are the future, are we not? So please, Let's become better, and let's leave a legacy to truly be proud of.
i love watching this video, when ever im tired of training and dont want to do it anymore i watch this video and it just gives me such a nostalgic feeling, makes me want to go and run harder and faster ..great motivational video in my opinion
I am entering this note of inspiration and hope for posterity. For the training has begun for Rio 2016 marathon. I will be there running this event for my home country. Thank you ImagineRecordings artist, Island, for creating this inspirational anthem, This Dream". God Bless you for planting the impossible dream and making it grow. Forever Grateful.
Couldn't have summed it up better. As ignorant as it sounds, I don't care whether the rest of the world understood it, the opening ceremony brought the entirety of the UK together and that's worth every billion.
and the incredible honour of being able to represent ur country, and even if they come dead last even making it to the olympics means that all the training was worth it
First Rate Work! A perfect combination of music, lyrics and video collection. Every time I watch this, I feel both inspired and touched to tears! Thank you!
I enjoyed the Opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics. My kids (ages 5 and 2) keep asking to rewatch the part with all the doctors and nurses and the kids. I thought it was a well done show.
So nice to see poeple on TV cry with joy because they worked for something.....so refreshing. Normally it's just about which cover singer you voted for on the phone......I hope this really puts X Factor in context for alot of poeple young and old.
Certainly not everything is being broadcast over the air, but a great deal of it is. There's nothing else but Olympics and news on NBC / KSL in primetime here in Salt Lake City--and good chunks of the news, both local and national, are on the Olympics.
Well done to London and thank you... when the olympics were here my favourite sport was swimming, now im attempting to get to Rio 2016, thanks alot for the inspiration and remarkably these have by far been the best olympics!!! Thanks London and Thanks for all the hope from the athlete's from around the world!!!
what a beautiful comment. i so heartedly agree, this makes me proud and proud to support my friends countries and my USA, it makes me thankful for all people in my life. friends, their families, my own family. great stuff, love the song. inspiring.
London MY London how I adore thee Thank you to all that made the "2012 Olmypics" the greatest ever and shining becon and one for all other countries to emulate ! God bless the UK !
what a beautiful video and song. makes me crry because i am so proud of the americans and just everyone involved. it gets me thinking of my own family and friends. it would be an absolute honor to represent them and my country in the olympics.
Wow, I loved this London Olympic games, one of the best Olympics I've ever seen. The one dissatisfaction was the judges, referees and jury's misjudges. Hope the 2016 in Rio de Janeiro all of those misjudging matters be discussed well and them to be very instructed and not to happen again.
this video and song is just amazing.... makes my hairs stand up and want to get my ass off this computer and go out there and challenge myself to become an Olympic athlete.
MY FRIENDS RESPECT GREECE, THE MOTHER OF OLYMPIC GAMES: The Ancient Olympic Games were a religious and athletic festival held every four years at the sanctuary of Zeus in Olympia, GREECE among representatives of several city-states and kingdoms of Ancient Greece. These games featured mainly athletic but also combat and chariot racing events. During the games, all conflicts among the participating city-states were postponed until the games were finished.
Wow! I couldn't have said it better, thank you. I feel proud to be British, but not in a conquering nationalistic way. Just proud and happy. Great trailer as well and loved the music.
Watch the ceremony again you might spot the countless other themes including: Shakespeare, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the rise of the industrial revolution, the blood sweat and tears spilt by our armies and the suffragettes, the arrival of many cultures that make the island so diverse, the humour element of bond and bean, a tribute to the NHS and Great Ormond Street, a celebration of the UK music industry. Then a nod to technology and the internet finally our impact on literature and language.
You know they say that people drive according to what tunes they have on the radio. Aggressive track, aggressive driving. Chilled out track, chilled out driving. Hence all the friendly comments on this thread :) Maybe they could just roll out speakers in various places in the world and play chill out, everyone puts the guns down, has a little hug and eats their dinner ! :)
@MrNativeDancer US coverage is shown on NBC, free to anyone with a tv, as well as msnbc, cnbc, NBC sports network and Bravo which requires a cable subscription. In order to use NBC's online streaming you have to have a cable subscription
This guy "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.” Pierre de Coubertain..you may have heard of him!!
I'm from the Philippines, a country that's rarely seen at the medal tally. I'm a desperate swimmer ok, but whenever I hear this song, the dream of seeing our flag out there and our national anthem being played for the world to hear becomes alive (ok, I'm daydreaming again!). But Yeah, this is the ONLY event I think in the world that citizens of diff countries come together not only to represent their country but MORE IMPORTANTLY TO CELEBRATE PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL STRENGTH OF THE HUMAN RACE.
NBC did a great job, wish i could say the same about London. Not only they had a shallow ceremony with empty seats, they also broke 2 basic olympic rules: #1. The torch relay runner must never stop=>In London the olympic flame turned into a gdamn lighter for someone's chigarette! #2.The flame at the altar must stay lit 24/7 till the end of the games=>Brit's blew it off to move the altar!!Such things are forbitten and never happened in 4000yrs!!The games should be cancelled, u r unworthy for them!!
London was the best Olympics ever and certainly better than Beijing. It had heart, soul, humor and a fantastic backdrop to all the events. Oh, and the people who turned up wanted to be there rather than being forced to go by their Government.
This song makes me think of my home town Taiwan. It's flag had been taken down, and I wish we can see the flag flying in London. I see the banners flying there, my home flag waving in the air Just like in the Song!!
I don't think Olympic Games are remembered for Opening and Closing Ceremonies. I think they are remembered for the overall impression they portrayed and for the legacy they left. In that context I think London 2012 will go down as the best Games to date. The backdrop to the events alone was stunning and the atmosphere was incredible. I can't remember a previous Games where the stadium was full for every single session including 80,000 for the first day of athletics when no medals were at stake
there is this song you will hear every time someone wins a medal or breaks a world record. It starts with a little snare fill and is followed by a sort of hip hop/rap bass melody. also heard it during the opening ceremony after dizzee rascal - bonkers. Anyone knows its name?
Chariots of Fire is. I think the London Symphony Orchestra is the band playing it. But, I think this is an appropriate song for a medal ceremony. I like this one better than CTV's "I Believe"
If God give you a talent you are meant to use it. Its actually a sin not too. So they are not wasting their time. Plus many are happy just to take part. They are inspiring people hopefully to do their best hence why the greatest are remembered. Many go on too coach the next generation so this in turn is a good deed.
Why didn't NBC show the opening of the Olympics in the way in which they were planned? The actual opening was sooooo much more meaningful and entertaining.
Amazing feelings.
"I see the banners flying there,
my home flag waving in the air
I've seen many things,
but I've waited my whole life for this dream"
Well done London you took care of the Olympics well, and made these seventeen days an outstanding and by far the best I've ever had. i seriously
i love watching this video, when ever im tired of training and dont want to do it anymore i watch this video and it just gives me such a nostalgic feeling, makes me want to go and run harder and faster ..great motivational video in my opinion

Couldn't have summed it up better. As ignorant as it sounds, I don't care whether the rest of the world understood it, the opening ceremony brought the entirety of the UK together and that's worth every billion.
I think it was touching to show the "losses" of events, not just the victories.
and the incredible honour of being able to represent ur country, and even if they come dead last even making it to the olympics means that all the training was worth it
Not only by Brits, I am a huge Olympics fan in the US and London 2012 was *amazing* I'll never forget it
First Rate Work! A perfect combination of music, lyrics and video collection. Every time I watch this, I feel both inspired and touched to tears! Thank you!
Splendid! Magic song! Thanks London and all athletes!
I enjoyed the Opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics. My kids (ages 5 and 2) keep asking to rewatch the part with all the doctors and nurses and the kids. I thought it was a well done show.
the effort and sweat the olympyans have gone through should be given a standing ovation.
So nice to see poeple on TV cry with joy because they worked for something.....so refreshing.
Normally it's just about which cover singer you voted for on the phone......I hope this really puts X Factor in context for alot of poeple young and old.
The ceremony was awesome. It told the story of the World's greatest city and was real.
I'm crying... So beautiful.
Certainly not everything is being broadcast over the air, but a great deal of it is. There's nothing else but Olympics and news on NBC / KSL in primetime here in Salt Lake City--and good chunks of the news, both local and national, are on the Olympics.
Very inspirational and motivational video. A great way to keep the memory of the Olympics and all the athlete's hard work alive. Great job. :-)
This song always tells me to go forward!!!!
Athletes play for their country and not for a bite of gold its only a shine to his everlasting pride
So much emotion in the video and the song. I truly loved it
NBC always does it right---GO USA GO!!
this just makes sports and the Olympics look so intense and epic.
Looks and sounds like the one thing NBC did right!!
MARVELOUS, INCREDIBLE, SIGNIFICANT, BEAUTIFUL, ASTONISHING! WELCOME TO LONDON 2012!
1:16 - incredible spin and flawless landing!
what a beautiful comment. i so heartedly agree, this makes me proud and proud to support my friends countries and my USA, it makes me thankful for all people in my life. friends, their families, my own family. great stuff, love the song. inspiring.
I couldn't agree more and actually London 2012 was better than any other Olympics anyway!
That landing at 1:16 is absolutely amazing...
London MY London how I adore thee Thank you to all that made the "2012 Olmypics" the greatest ever and shining becon and one for all other countries to emulate !
God bless the UK !
Wonderful Olympic Games in London, Greetings from Athens
what a beautiful video and song. makes me crry because i am so proud of the americans and just everyone involved. it gets me thinking of my own family and friends. it would be an absolute honor to represent them and my country in the olympics.
listened to it with Ennio Morricone's The Mission theme..... now I'm pumped for Brazil
I wish the world was like this not just every 4 years but every single year.
I've seen loads of montages full of GB moments, it's nice to see one from another perspective.
Amazing song!! it makes me wants to go out there and play more and try harder
Best Olympics ever.
Can't wait to see what you put together for Sochi.
Super montage. The BBC often produces similarly inspirational stuff over here, but I don't think they've managed to match that this time round.
This song is very good and this Olympic is always in my mine
London 2012 Inspiring a generation
id be prouder of been austrian with no medals then U .S.A or China who only care about winning so nice to see a comment like yours :)
The comments in this thread kind of restores my faith in "internet humanity" thumbs up from me.
Great video to.
awww it made me tear up in the end :')
gives me goosebumps
this video and song is just amazing.... makes my hairs stand up and want to get my ass off this computer and go out there and challenge myself to become an Olympic athlete.

Makes me want to visit London again :(
I'm screaming my ass off watching the Olympics lol
And beautiful song choice!
Wow! I couldn't have said it better, thank you. I feel proud to be British, but not in a conquering nationalistic way. Just proud and happy. Great trailer as well and loved the music.

I don't think any host will top London's Games, I fully welcome all future Olympic cities to try but London was perfect!
I feel like giving up because Stanford rejects 95% of the students who dream of that school for so long
Lovely
i agree Rio will be amazing such a good choice for an olympics to take place! although i agree london was an EXCELLENT olympics

I'm the same. I find it's more fulfilling to make pointless comments on youtube rather than to push myself to be the best I can at something.
Dude just watched your vids on London and my home city
It was well worth the watch Are you in the UK ??
Outstanding videos !!
Heart touching song
..i love london..
Great video too*
never heard before, but great =)
I like this song alot
This song makes me think of my home town Taiwan. It's flag had been taken down, and I wish we can see the flag flying in London.
I see the banners flying there,
my home flag waving in the air
Just like in the Song!!

If you think this is inspirational, you should see the BBCs Olympics 2012 Nature vs Nurture montage, its fantastic!
there is this song you will hear every time someone wins a medal or breaks a world record. It starts with a little snare fill and is followed by a sort of hip hop/rap bass melody. also heard it during the opening ceremony after dizzee rascal - bonkers. Anyone knows its name?
perfect!
great trailer
yes wonderful
Chariots of Fire is. I think the London Symphony Orchestra is the band playing it. But, I think this is an appropriate song for a medal ceremony. I like this one better than CTV's "I Believe"

despite there being beijing clips in there it was still good
this is amazing!!!!! NASTIA LIUKIN
Why didn't NBC show the opening of the Olympics in the way in which they were planned? The actual opening was sooooo much more meaningful and entertaining.
Beijing was really awesome. But London will be remembered for much more longer, even though it wasn't as flashy.
if any one is looking for the opening ceremony then just go on the bbc iplayer it'll be available for a month ish
