@@LlyanAustria You are right, for me it's an evil I am willing to endure. If you hit ctrl + S all the time it will hold you up the same amount plus there is the added risk you forget to save. For Autosave to work optimally there are 3 things you need to do: 1. Save to the server at the END of each day but work from your desktop- it saves MUCH quicker. 2. When you go into detail copy and paste that particular element (ie one flat from a block of flats or all the walls and no other elements) into a clean Sketchup file; that way your Autosaves will be quick because the file you are working on will be small. Then copy back into the main model when you are done. 'Paste in place' is your friend. 3. Avoid unnecessary detail in your models. If you import CAD- clean the CAD before and remove all the layers (you don't need cars or detailed window drawings in your model). Also don't layer your file unnecessarily ie the glass doesn't need to be on a glass layer UNLESS you are planning on rendering in another software OR you regularly need to hide the glazing, for some reason, while modelling. Hey, I'm at my first year of philosophy, and we obviouslz read a lot, but Im thinking in changing my Bachelor in Architecture. At least one of the habits I have already incorporated in my life.
Im so moved with the "its the learnings that are important , not the plates" My past self really be investing in plates & i forgot to remember that drawings are just the language use in architecture. Okay, this had me telling myself not to over worry abt plates that doesnt look cool & dwell into learnings instead.
This is just awesome and helpful. I'm literally that person that says I'll remember the idea then after getting home *poof it's gone. Anyway those things are really helpful and I do some of them bro. Keep making videos bro!
I'm only 15years old from Philippines and I'm starting sketching some pictures on my phone and I read books too and by watching your vids make me inspire to sketch😀
This is so helpful especially to the students who are trying to be an architect and this is an inspiration to all the students who has a dream of being an architect.... Nothing is impossible if you work hard cause hard work makes dream work:>>❤️
Yeah the brain is a muscle. I completely agree with you, you have to get to the point where those habits become one with you doh. Just so y'll know, you'll become more weird to normal people, you have to live with it for life. Awesome 🔥❤
about that saving tip , that really helps cause i remember one time i was building that steel building model and i was taking a picture of every step i was doing and that building was solid until i woke up the next day and decided to take to the DR and on my way to college the building went down because of the stupid people and i told the DR that i have some digital photos and i was going to fail if i wasn't taking those pictures so yea taking picture is very important guys
