The internet needs to know if ALL of the hexagons have the grain going horizontal?! You rock Paul! What a cool wall.
Believe it or not, yes!! I had to keep reminding myself every time I put a sheet on the CNC to cut, one 90 degree rotation and I'd screw up the whole project haha
I love your ability to stay focused on the task at hand.
So nice that you have someone to hang out with in the shop.
Now you need a giant bumble bee costume
Looks like there is a strong quilting background in your life. Love the work.
The new series of Blockbusters is gonna be amazing!
Never in a million years would I think to put hexagons on my shop wall….. or that I would love how that looks. Awesome work man!
Thanks for the shoutout Paul! Love the hexagon resaw jig you made BTW. Gonna borrow that!
once again, proving that hexagons, are the bestagons.
For real! Not even a debate :)
Thank you for your service to the Internet. Hexagons ARE the Bestagons.
You are now my favorite maker on the Tubes. I generally have no patience for silly or slapstick, however your humor is intelligent and creative and coincides with my own. Live Long and Prosper, brother.
Your patience and dedication to your projects is amazing, after a hundred of those hexagons i would cry and run away... really inspiring👍
To be fair, I cried and ran away and then came back to finish the project
@@JackmanWorks 😂 yup, that's how grown man should be. Dont't know if i will ever reach that maturity🤭
Great film, well shot and edited. The wall is gorgeous. 800 hexagons, you are the master sensei of repetitive wood working. I get carpal tunnel just watching. : ) Mahalo for sharing! : )
Dude. First video I’ve seen of yours and instantly subscribed! Music choice and editing style are top tier!
Wall looks so good!
So we all down for a massive Settlers of Catan fest at Jackman's shop this Christmas Eve?
Yessss! So much effort, I absolutely love it. Classic Jackman.
The wall turned out fantastic! And I just KNEW you would have something up your sleeve at the end. Good call on that one.
Always something up those sleeves!
That looked pretty cool Jack. I could totally see that wall in an office meeting room or behind a receptionist.
I almost forgot how funny your editing is. Bless you :D
Yay!!! A new Paul Jackman video! Thank you Santa!
You won't believe it, but I think Santa is going to give you 2 Jackman videos this month!
@@JackmanWorks Don't you talk dirty to me!!!!
Работа 👍👍👍 Таким маслом пользу не первый год, результат отличный.
Hi Paul, another awesome build. Good to know you have saved a spot in your workshop for this 😉 brilliant idea with the removable hexagons, but I certainly don't hope you'll have to move your shop again. I think I saw you move it 3 times now...
You and me both! haha
Really dig the look. And smart move at the end.
I’m so impress of the result. How I wish to have such kind of wall paired with 100” led tv.
I always like your projects, but I absolutely LOVE this one. You are amazing.
Loved every bit of this man! Another impressive design and execution! You make it look easy, man!
Well done!
- Seth
That joke was freaking hilarious! I'm still laughing, hahahah!
Exagons are the bestagons!
PLYWOOD!? Please don't tell me that in addition to toilet paper and cream cheese that we are short on pallets too! When will it stop. Lol. Nice build Paul. Pretty cool idea. I have a strange desire for some honey now.
Wait, this is how I find out we have a cream cheese shortage?! haha
Very nice 👍
Also like that you can access the screws and take off an entire sheet if need be.
That is fantastic!!! I love the different ideas you come up with!!
Hour of pure joy. Thanks man. Keep it up
And here I thought the special reveal for Jackman Stans was going to be a fart noise. Missed opportunity. Such a cool idea for an accent wall. I love repeating geometric patterns. Can't wait to ride out the year Jackman Style. Thanks for sharing!
It's definitely time to bring that classic back
This is so cool. Smart to make it removable!
I knew those hexagons looked familiar!
Tenía ya mucho de no verte..
Y me dio mucho gusto verte de nuevo!
You projects never fail to impress. And this wall is amazing.
Those edits were as amazing as the final project. Loved watching.
It looks so good in your wall !great job !
Great video, love your channel, that wall looks great!
I love your projects! Looks great! 👍👍
Good to see you! Love the wall, looks great 👍 Awesome idea to attach to a removable wall. Oh my gosh those jokes were bad! 🤭😝 Very nice results. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family. Happy Holidays 🎊 🎄 🎉 😊 All the best. ❤
Awesome, always enjoy you projects and your videos.
These videos are so freaking amazing. Just subscribed
The final joke hit pretty hard. Garbanzo Beans can’t pee. 🤣
Man quilting! Beautiful
Great build !
Great work!
My initial reaction when seeing the opening shot was "That is cool lookin', man!". Nice job!
I always look forward to your videos. Funny and very creative. Thanks
Very cool idea! Glad you didn't have to cut all the hexagons by hand.
I'm glad about that too haha
Looks amazing.
Wow! What a cool project. That's a lot of hexagons.
It's true: Hexagons are the Bestagons.
Looked through the comments just to see if someone had said this. Thank you.
Been curious since you post it on IG. Came out great!!
Great job!
LOL'd at the chickpea joke.
Hello WorkMan Jacks. That wall looks amazing.
this is amazing
How about some pretty pink curtains for the windows?
I don’t know about that, but I really do need to cover them in something
Love it, and I appreciate the fact that you put all the grain generally facing the same direction. Would have looked horrible if it was random and chaotic.
Yes! All grain going left/right, was hard to remember that throughout the entire project
Holy 💩 that is a busy pattern. Hurts my brain to look at it.
They concept is good though. I would want to look at something pleasing to the eye and harmonious though.
Brilliant,love it ,blooming effective. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Very cool that’s a crazy lot of work but it turned out great
QUE MAQUINAS INCRIVEIS!!
Take that accent wall back to 1987 😂
I can’t believe you didn’t cut those out of pallet wood! 😂 great job Paul!
Of course I at least though about it haha
The wall looks great. I’m always impressed on your vision of these large multi step projects. It’s great to see the ways you solve the problems of making a huge quantity of the same thing. Your perseverance is legendary.
I make problems for myself and then solve them, I'm still not sure if that's good or not.
@@JackmanWorks there’s a T-shirt for that!
Que genial... te sigo hace mucho y haces un trabajo realmente minucioso y dedicado... felicitaciones .. Saludos desde Chile.
Nicely done! I recently tiled the kitchen backsplash with about 150 hexagonal tiles, so 800 really sounds like a lot. I guess plywood is easier to work with than ceramics, butt still...
Hexagons are the best-agons
Dam That's awesome looking!
Your accent wall may have taken a lot of create but, it is beautiful.
Great looking wall! How did you manage the radomness of the placement of the three tiles? Looks really good.
This vid is so cool from editing point of view! When you pass yourself a piece it just cracked me up. Not more than you talking to yourself tho 😂 Great content and super cool outcome. Will try that on my wall in the feature for sure. You seem cool as well. Thanks for inspiration !
Awesome! Thank you!
So glad I made a vacuum table for my enlarged X-Carve. Tabs are the worst and would have saved you hours. Good vacuum + window spline and that's it's.
I've actually got some ideas for building a vacuum table into that thing, hopefully I get to try it some day. Small pieces like those hexagons are hard to hold in place with just a vacuum though, what kind of vacuum pump are you using for your set-up?
Here's a video of it in action: ua-cam.com/video/SjBqds24BkI/v-deo.html
Beatiful
Wuhuu Paul is back 🥳🎉
Finally!! It feels good, I almost forgot how to do this though
Lmao I love you! You always make laugh!
I don't know if the "what's green and has wheels?" joke was an Office reference, or a reference to Poul Anderson's Three Hearts and Three Lions, but I dig it either way. Glad to see a new video from you.
(I hope it was a reference to Anderson)
I love all the jokes as usual including the chickpea one. 😂😂
I’m not sure how many times I’ve used that one, but it will never not be funny
0:19 that look says "I love sanding!"
I think I was on sheet 3 of 6 when I shot that and was thinking that I'm only half done 😂
One day I want my kid to get the chance to go to the Paul Jackman school of editing, best in the woodworking business.
(Ok, said kid would have to be conceived first, but hey, what's the rush anyway ?)
Love it
Great video, CNC ws only way to do it, would have been ton of waste cutting out on tablesaw jig! Amazed that easel managed to align them all accurately on that scale, fraction off would have upset whole design!
I guess your wife wouldn't want that design in the house!! A pig of dust trap.
Fabulous video edit, I'm waiting for the day 2nd person trips over 1st !!
Badass! I need. CNC machine
Awesome
Oh now that's a nice wall!
Хорошая работа!
Did you also plan for the separation between the sheets? Aren't the hexagons glyed on the jonctions?
Next time try a heavy duty wallcovering adhesive. You could have just rolled the adhesive on the wall and popped the hexagons on rather than adhering them individually and it would have been cheaper. Looks awesome!
I did this because the epoxy fills gaps better that were left behind from resawing, plus I didn't do the entire wall at once
Nice wall! I have a huge wall in my bedroom I need to do something with. Would probably be 2,000 of these though. Uggh. That would be painful.
That might even be too much for me! I'd do it as a long term project though, where I tackle 100 at a time on the side of my other projects
I only wish this wasn’t done with an xcarve so I could do the same thing myself. Love the final look.
You can totally do the same thing yourself. Option 1 is to get an X-Carve ;). Option 2 is to do it with a table saw jig or something similar like I mentioned in the video. Check DIY Montreal or Woby Design
Really neat, Paul, but that was a lot of work! It's great to see you back in the shop. I'm subscribed to Marie's channel and was thinking if it as you were working. BTW - did the kitty get a coat of stain too? Take care.
Bill
I'm curious, when you're laying in bed, unable to sleep, being overwhelmed by 800 hexagons, do you think, hey, I could just be doing custom kitchens? Great content, thanks.
Nah, custom kitchens would be too repetitive ;)
As always great video! do you have a link for the sanding disk in your drill press?
That's a mop sander www.woodworkingshop.com/product/fs36999d/
quedo genial, saludos desde argentina
You left the hexagon cutting link out of the description Mr. Jackman.
Whoops! ua-cam.com/video/HoD1N9wA8J0/v-deo.html
Very, very Good I'm your fan Hello from Russia
That looks incredible Paul. I can’t believe how much work you put into some of your projects but they always come out awesome. When you were attaching the hexagons to the wall I was thinking “damn those are just going to get clotted up terribly with dust what with the different dimensions going in and out and it’s going to be a b!tch to get that cleaned off even with some good strong compressed air” but where you finished that with polyurethane I’m sure it won’t be quite as bad.
The clear coat is definitely going to help a ton! Plus, I actually installed them with the thicker ones near the top to minimize shelves for dust. But like you said, the compressor is right there to make quick work of it
