- I ride from Karat Konso to Yabelo, back into the Oromia region, in Ethiopia, in Africa. I suffer my first puncture in a very long time, and the second part of the ride pushes me to my limits... a terrible 50 kilometers climb.
On the way, a friendly truck driver decides to protect me, and to help me as he can.
Finally, in Yabelo, in a small local restaurant, this beautiful woman constantly stares at me.

The man with the truck was an amazing human being. To be honest, the people were welcoming and friendly: viva to them and Yves. A nice place to spend the night 👍

That was a good gesture from the truck driver .. .lovely Africa ❤
Africans are generally kind but we have rogues too
Indeed
People of Africa, respect each other first and then respect someone from another country
I thought the same thing. The way they bend over backwards to help a non-black person is mind boggling. 9/10 times they won't do the same for another black person what they were doing in this video. I think they think by being nice/helpful there will be some kind of reward/compensation for their help. Otherwise, I can't explain this behavior.
We bow down to white people as God because we believe they are special people or rich intellectuals. We have a special understanding of Europeans
Africans just need to change this kind of thinking. Man can be made rich.Africans can change if we are educated and made. So we should not be surprised by Europeans.Remember they are people like us

Why did the chicken cross the road .
Cause Yves beeped at him 😂
Please don’t use bad word I am watching with my kids
Hellow Yves, I am really proud of your journey. Very exceptional!
A few comments:
1. Please don't set your mind that everyone approaching you are asking for money. One female elderly approached to comfort you and say hello, but you think she was asking for money. Not at all. Except kids( which will change soon and they are kids only) 99% are not interested of a penny from a stranger. Rather they are happy to see you around and are expressing their good feelings the way the know. I think you noticed that.
2. What do you think of the road infrastructure generally?
3. In the middle multiple challenges and war I see you are peacefully moving and byclcing in the remote areas with a few unfortunate incidents. What do you say about it? What should be done to make it better?
4. I see in many places you reached in Ethiopia have a basic services even for a budgeted tourists like you. What kind of plan and recommendations do you suggest for such small scale businesses and tourist or passenger outlets to improve their services in having a standard kitchen, toilet, tourist information center, and clean surroundings. What do you recommend?
5. Compared to your tours in Africa, what should Ethiopia improve and what should it keep it up?
Thank you very much showing us our country deep inside. Many are only limited in the cities and you have done a great assessment to see ourselves deep inside.
Keep it up and Meric Trie Bien!

Tnx buddy you nailed it. That are the things i want to hear from our lovely French man Yves who is doing an excellent job of advertising many countries including Ethiopia way better than Ministries of Culture/Tourism. Mentally travelling nowdays is unthinkable in Ethiopia due to fear of security reasons and conflicts here and there, but, ya ...our brave friend is disproving this misconception. Big respect from Ethiopia Yves!
Thank you for visiting and promoting Ethiopia 🇪🇹
The Oromos are Very Welcoming Love the hospitality… Keep it going Yves you are a Legend
🤣🤭let us not paint unrealistic. Image we have witnessed enough to know what you have done to our ppl. May be to your master you are nice.
@@Black-lioness these are the calm Borena people.not Walaga or Arsi tribes 🔔🔔
@@Black-lioness alot of African countries populations behave like that they are harsh with their own people specially when they belong to different religion or tribes while simultaneously being friendly and welcoming their former masters
You should stay in Addis, Ethiopia for the Meskel Festival. It's allowed to take videos, and you're going to love it. I hope you won't miss it

The land of lands , Selassie land!!
Your smile and joy going downhill!!! Great job Yves!! 💕
bienvenue dans mon état we are the Best side of Ethiopia
ethiopian borana speaks better English than any other places in ethiopia 😊😊
Wow, such a beautiful scenic route!!
"On the road again" as the song goes.. All of the best friend. Thanks for letting us know about Ethiopia which is part of our common African home. Many of us cannot afford the journey to Ethiopia to experience for ourselves just as many in Ethiopia cannot afford to come to South Africa.. You and others are helping us to know each other as African brothers and sisters....
All Africans are Africans and we share common ancestry going back centuries. It is a mistake to think that 1000 years ago there was Botswana, South Africa, etc as you'd want us to believe... Your thinking is that of apartheid colonialist mentality.. With the type of education we got as Africans under colonialism all over the continent, it is understandable where your reasoning is coming rom.
@@dochere-bolelwang you speaking nonsense
Nonsensical headless chicken .... is you moron!
Ethiopia has been a blast! Looking forward to Kenya my home country. Karibu sana!
To be honest, going with the guide was cool to, but riding solo, punctures, bandits, climbing, I missed the adventure.... You are a brave man and that's what sets you apart....

You visited Ethiopia better than Me who lived 30 years here🙄🙄🙄
Your curiosity always amazes me. you are exploring the deep southern part of Ethiopia although you experienced very unfortunate things there. YOU HAVE A STORY TO TELL.
What bad things did he experience?
I bet you were engineer, very smart and polite in every situation, new follower from Italy

I am sad to see you leaving Ethiopia but I understand that you should have to go with time. You only see a small part of Ethiopia. I hope one day you will come for the same adventure. Vive Kino Yves. Bonne continuation.
Stunning landscapes, valleys, and mountains you captured, left an indelible mark on my memory. Making us feel like we were right there alongside you. The diverse landscapes, from the towering mountains to the lush valleys, showcased the unparalleled natural beauty Ethiopia has to offer. Its rich cultural heritage, vibrant traditions, and awe-inspiring natural wonders make it a destination like no other. As you look forward to your upcoming journey to Kenya, I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to embark on another virtual adventure with you.

You are very brave to travel in those remote areas as an Ethiopian I am not sure if I can do that. The ordinary Ethiopians are very friendly and welcoming.
So fun to see you on the road again. The happiness is so obvious on your face when you're on your bike. Stay safe and have a great journey!

Through your great adventurous videos, I saw and visited my own country (born and raised).
You showed us the good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful, ... so thank you!
Oye Ives que hermosos paisajes y los arboles son bellisimos .............un tremendo viaje, saludos y fuerza , un gran esfuerzo, pero vale la pena
Welcome to kenya
I like this man a lot he’s awesome and cool really
The silence of the Wilderness would have been scary to me - 8000 Kilo meters away from France, but not 4 u! But quiet an adventure, and you seem to thrive in it. Something I wish I could do.
this is the most interesting travel channel ive watched, i think it is more interesting that you bike wherever you go
The Schwalbe Marathon PLUS and PLUS TOUR are flatless. That is what i use and over 4k miles no flat. They wear out (threads showing) before they go flat.. They are easy rolling, and puncture proof.
So amazing experience in konso Ethiopia 🇪🇹
I am glad that you safely made your way to Yabelo. All the best in your remaining trips.
Wow. Yves you are strong as iron, that was some hill climb.I am sweating just watching you. Nice people. Man I was buzzing for you as you were going downhill 😅.
Amazing adventure, thanks for taking us along with you. You’re truly one of a kind.
Even though i am fed up with our divisiveness of internal politics,
i am truly happy to see my people hospitable friendly and courteous to others through out , hopping someday we regain back what's lost in Jesus name Amen. Yves i love your positivity, respect and willing to adapt, it a lesson those of us who don't travel much to learn and see through your lense.❤
You are Fantastic❤
When yves just is out of breath and stoping completely exhausted i cannot imagine how out of it he is actually cause he is used to it. Outside temps are probably 40 degress + humidity + dehydration+ sun wow 😳
Human beings can be sweet. ❤
Glad to see you riding the bike again. Enjoy exploring.

I find myself misty eyed at the generousity of strangers. Ethiopians are amazing people. I live in Kenya and the few times I've met them it's been wonderful interactions. I met a group of Oromo students travelling to Uganda and they were such wonderful souls. Keep up the amazing videos. I just discovered your channel now I'm hooked. Just watching as I work
Beautiful video, the landscape is amazing, happy to see you back on the road. Stay safe.
It's good that you're back on the electric bike, it's so much fun😊

Hi Yves i really appreciate ur hard work This shows how dedicated u are good job.we all should support you and enjoy seeing different types of people
U r my favourite UA-camr Yves
Waiting to see you in my country Kenya 🇰🇪 🇰🇪🇰🇪❤️
Welcome to Kenya
You haven't met numerous individuals in these areas because you are 'in the lowland regions of Ethiopia. In Ethiopia, lowland areas have significantly fewer inhabitants compared to the highlands.
Ethiopia right now is not safe 😢
So dont knw what your doing their still almost 5 month....
You bring that girl to the hotel❤
Great following your vlog. Once in Oromia you can initiate conversation by saying things like 'Akkammii' means 'how are you' in Afaan Oromoo. 'Nagayyaa' meaning 'Fine', 'Essaa demtaa?' 'Where are you going?' 'Bunii jiraa' ''Do you have Coffee'' 'Nyannii jira' 'Do you have food'' or 'Buna gurgurtuu or qabduu?' 'Do you sell coffee or do you have coffee?'' .... Keep it up with love from Manchester, United Kingdom and I wish to visit my homeland Oromia in about 2 months time.
Looks like amazing cycling country
Nice to see you back on the bike.

This is a great adventure. I watched this video without getting bored. Thanks yves.
The man with the truck is a good, well spoken person and ha sthe demeanour of Kenyans. Maybe he interacts with them a lot while selling them smuggled petrol in Moyale.
They scared you not to travel across borana zone, people who told you not to travel across oromoa lives in oromia too😂
