Bud is world war ll veteran. A genius mechanic. Just two survive Normandy is enough to make him a hero.

A truly deserving HOF entrant and a wonderful tribute to a legend of the era. It is figures like Bud Moore who truly validate how good Richard Petty and his team really were. To those who would seek to minimize Petty’s accomplishments, just think of all of the amazing teams and drivers who were all gunning for him. Moore with Baker and Allison or the Wood Bros. with Pearson, even Earnhardt Sr. - legendary teams and drivers and yet Petty won close to 90 races in the 1970’s and 10 more by 1984. He did this with every single driver in Winston Cup gunning for him. In return, he elevated every win made over him. This is why he was and is the King. Edit: Which is to say that if Petty’s career had begun in 1970, he’d still be the winning-est Cup driver of all time. Also, this comment is meant to give shine to all of the “older” teams, that they were the equal of any modern team, had to work harder with less capable equipment, and raced in a time when it was truly a sport which could kill.

An American hero who saw the worst of mankind and he witnessed the best of mankind.
Thank you, sir, for protecting the freedoms that I enjoy today 🇺🇲

what they left out about Joe Weatherly was the brake system was a 'new' thing made by Ford...drum brakes usually adjust themselves by backing up..they came out with a system that did that going forward (rather than backward)...thing was they never ran it til it was adjusted all the way...when that happened the brake cylinder pushed out of its bore and lost all the fluid... Bud figured out a way to weld a piece of iron to keep that cylinder in place. Guess they couldn't use disc brakes because they were not 'stock'....

I've honored Bud Moore my entire life. My cars that I've raced over the past 30 years ALL wore the #15.
On the Superspeedways in the '70s there was only ONE MAN TO BEAT....and it wasn't Richard Petty.
Big thumbs up just to hear Dale Earnhardt say this Ford ran great all day.

After watching this great documentary of Mr.Moore,so sad to just find out of his passing. Never knew he was in so many horrific battles, the many injuries, all the medals received. I knew of his many great accomplishments in NASCAR, as well as the tragic loss of his drivers. He was a Mans Man!!! RIP Mr.Moore....

The best/worst part of a mans man is that he know it so he doesn’t have to show it. Bud Moore is a god amongst men carrying those he fought beside with him to all he’s done

Some other racing milestones of Bud Moore are his championship in the 1970 Tran-Am with drivers Parnelli Jones and George Follmer and Geoff Bodine's Manufacturers Championship clinching win at Sears Point in one of the greatest road racing drives in NASCAR history in 1992.
Also Dale Earnhardt would go on to race for Bud in 1983 winning the Talledega 500.

It's a shame we lost Luke Perry, an underrated actor, and to be taken so early in his life. Due to a stroke, that is dependant on its strength or region of the brain, you can't always save the person.
