The kids watching and racing today just have no clue what this man means to our sport........and I hope and pray he's never forgotten..he is the greatest to ever grip a wheel hands down
Amen
@TheJackhammer92 ... if your referring to "the day" it happened in 2001.
In 15 years racing will be a thing of the past it want be watched at all the next generation doesnt like shit but there phones and games
T Bag which is sad. Im only 18 and id give a lot to just be a middle aged man during the 90’s so i could watch not only Dale, but the men who raced week in and week out, and a lot of em raced to live, not like today were your families money gets you in a top cup ride.
Hate to break it to you. If a kid has a Nascar loving family.. we most certainly do have a clue. I sure as hell do
Anytime I get depressed and sad I just turn on youtube and watch ol Dale winning races and these kinda tribute shows and it helps me pull thru the tough times.....
you're a piece of shit
al pacino get the fuck out of here you troll
There's just something about him that brings a smile to your face.
@Jesus Saves what a fucking asshat
@Jesus Saves You are a son of a bitch.
Never seen the clip of Dale singing with Delbert McClinton. Priceless
That was hilarious!
Awesome!
Everybody dies, but not everybody lives. RIP legend. You won’t be forgotten.
I wish Dale was still here
Brian Gray so do i
Me to
@@goldeneve me too
He is. Doesn't miss a race I bet! The man died doing a selfless act for his team and died doing what he was passionate about and had met every goal he wanted. He taught everyone how to be winners! RIP You are missed!
I can picture him in the booth announcing the race with Jr.
Met this man twice both times he took time to shake my hand look me in the eye and listen to me. First time was in 81 and forever stuck with me. When I go to Daytona 500 people are still crying at his monument. I have to say I have shed a tear or two also very touching moment there. Man I miss this icon.
You was Lucky to met Dale.
A man's man.....you are lucky
I saw the wreck. It was the closest I came to crying for someone that wasn't family.
My dad worked for an ARCA team, and met all the greats. He said Dale was very nice, Neil Bonnet was nice, Petty was ok, Rusty was a bit of a dick, waltrip was an arrogant asshole, and Elliot was a drunk.
This video brought tears to my eyes. What an absolute incredible person Dale was. A true American badass
You can never watch the end of the 2001 500 and not notice that as soon as the checkered flag flew, Darrell Waltrip KNEW something bad had happened. Even through immense joy of his brother winning, his first concern focused on turn 3.
Absolutely, it's probably one of the most bitter sweet and Disturbing thing's I've ever seen in Sport's and live television, especially when you see him crying tears of joy over his little brother winning after loosing so many times..yet one can assume he'd could've been in tears subconsciously, over the uncertainty of not knowing how Dale was and not wanting to listen to his gut instinct that something horrific had just happened to him...
I truly believe Dale would have won #8 in 2001.
Very possible

I believe that also and maybe more
He almost had #8 in 2000
He almost had #8 in 2000 finished 2nd to Bobby Labonte that year I believe
Dude was super humble. That's the best part about him.
I think the only thing he loved more than racing was the fans who watched either they loved or hated him he did everything in his power to give the people what they wanted and grow the sport more and more
Could you imagine how different NASCAR would be if he stayed alive?
in 2020, probably the same... but more drivers would have died...
@@xCmOn3yx777 lol 😂 the best comment. That's the truth.
@@buddywilliams5650 how is that funny ?😐
As morbid as it is, it's true. More drivers would have been killed. Nascar back then was painfully ignorant and lax when it came to safety and it took Dale dying to wake their asses up. In a way, it was like a sacrifice and Dale's last gift to the sport because who knows how many more drivers would have been killed if it weren't for him shocking Nascar into being more strict with safety.
The butterfly effect beyond that is too much to even comprehend. It's cool to think about I guess how things would've been different but it really doesn't matter. It wasn't in the cards.
Id would be a better place
Man, DW on the mic during his son's win and simultaneous loss of Dale really got me. You can see the proud he was of Michael at that moment, followed by the immediate concern.
Thats his little brother not son
13 years later it still feels as bad as it did back in 2001 dale sr was heck still is the man in my book
BrianHarvickFan2 amen brother
I've always been a Jeff Gordon fan, but I always had the utmost respect for Dale Sr.
same
RIP Dale Sr (The Greatest Racecar Driver ever)
Greatest of all-time. No discussion needed.
He was a homosexual but very few people knew this.
Your a homosexual "twilter" ^
Twilter Konargi You're an idiot, He had a wife and 4 kids
Did you forget about a driver named oh, IDK Richard Petty, Earnhardt is second best, The king is the GOAT
Andrew Dion Nope,
When richard raced,
The competition was like a prius vs a camaro
Almost 17 years. ...still miss him. RIP Intimidator. The greatest!!!
Damn I know it's been a while but NASCAR will never be the same.. Everyone misses 3. True legend of a sport that no one else had the same type of passion he did
He may of left early but he died doing what he loved while at the pinnacle of his career. Who couldn't ask for a more poetic death. R.I.P. Intimidator
Big E was the first driver inducted in. Fittingly so.
D HM I have no idea what you said???
@@sheilac1845 Then get someone, who doesn't have a comprehension problem, to explain it to you. You might try "Hooked on Phonics" afterwards.
I've always said.............Nascar died when Dale passed...........RIP Dale.
Torq 2000 agreed
I can agree
Jeff is Nascar, what the hell are you Dale fans smoking these days?
@@rockhaze You goofy little prick, Dale Earnhardt did FAR MORE for NASCAR than any driver of the modern era. Go ask Jeff, he'll tell you the same thing, dumb ass.
NASCAR died in 2008 with the recession and COT
Coincidence? Dale enters nascar in the late ‘70s, starts putting together wins and gaining respect in the ‘80s. He becomes influential in how nascar as a company is run, nascar sees a boom of popularity and success in the ‘90s and early 2000’s. And quickly fading after Dale’s death. Almost makes you wonder if the France’s just suck at running a business and Dale was the one who made nascar have it’s big boom, not just on the track, but behind the scenes
Dale is Aryton Senna of the US
Jaden Dubecky yup
And the Jackie Stewart, and the Fangio
Michael Schumacher
Jaden dubeckey are you nuts? Not even close. They were world renouned and he was just another that came and went
@@donaldreese635 you're an idiot 🤣🤣 Dale was the greatest 7 championships the best ever
Took Nascar with him .
It’s true
Now that’s just rude.
Nah, Nascar went with Jeff, the real talent.
@themetal your damn idiot what killed him is his ass blocking for his buddy and son to try get there asses a win
Nah its really the fans that died off cause dales gone im a big fan but i stuck with the sport not many others did an im not sure why
Dale never aged really. Looked old in his younger days honestly.😅
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute to the best nascar driver ever!
he died doing what he loved and who can ask for more than to die doing what you love doing.R.I.P. DALE
I have to say it was an honor to meet this man in person. Coolest experience for a 7 year old who loved nascar. I had a rookie card of his he autographed it for me.
Still hits the heart in 2018
That day of 2001 in the space of 2 hours, I went from unnamed happiness for MW, to unnamed sadness for losing my idol...
RIP Dale
RIP Richie Evans
RIP all those great guys who made racing look so beautiful and died loving what they do best
I'm from Owensboro Kentucky and it was the greatest and then saddest day
Poor Michael Waltrip couldn't catch a break and I lost my hero
Dale and Richie. A class of their own
Just watching this and reading the comments you gotta wonder how many titles and victories he would have now if he were still here smh r.i.p dale sr...
Not as much as you would like to think he was getting kinda disconnected distant on the winds he was getting up and age also
@@chrispennington6890 harvick finished real good in points in 2001, with little experience in cars and a team tailored for Dale. Sr would’ve been 1000% in the championship hunt. He had just finished 2nd in points in 2000
@@gunnercooper9405 That literally means nothing he was comfortable in the car And had a decent year Dale earnhardt was becoming extremely disconnected he was On the end of his stretch I was the biggest earned heart fan growing up I promise you. When you come to Greenville pick and Speedway for an autograph thing are not a graph thing something happened and we were late they were late they were leaving myself and my mother's good friend chased him and he luckily signed my delete signed my paper and even had a couple of minutes of a chat with me. Never forget it as long as I live but that's neither here nor there he he was not doing so hot
@@chrispennington6890 he literally finished 2nd in points with 2 wins, 13 top 5s, 24 top 10s, and an average finish of 9.4 in 2000
If that’s disconnected then every driver should strive to be disconnected bc that’s an amazing year by ANY driver’s standards. You expecting him to win every race by 10 laps every year or something?
Watching on April 10th, 2020. In February it will be 20 years. It still feels like yesterday. I have a son about to turn 12 who is a big fan of Earnhardt's. He never had the chance to see him race live, all he can do is watch UA-cam videos, and he does and loves them. That's the impact Earnhardt had a child born 7 years after he died, sees him as a hero.
That's our Dale! He was the best in our eyes and we loved and always will love Dale Earnhardt Sr! We miss you Dale Sr! Race on in Heaven for God now and my Jerry and Sugar Bear and Fred and Cliff!
I love that.....I took a little spin in the grass to get the good out of it!!!!!!!!
Skyler Lucky my favorite moment all the drivers gave him a guard of honor
This was a great tribute to Dale. I can't believe that this much time has passed, that some of this stirs old feeling and even brought tears... the sport hasn't been the same since he passed & sadly never will be again. RIP, Dale.
The Man! Wow how time has slipped away. R.I.P.
It's not the pictures on the walls, but in your heart and memories from the person or persons or even pets you've lost that keep them here with us.
It’s hard to believe that Dale, Sr has been gone for 20 years. Feels like yesterday that he passed.
Big “E” was the best to ever sit a ass in a race car!!!
The greatest and it is a long way back to find second greatest.
That night my father and I were on a lake listening on the radio in Osteen when Jr won The Pepsi 400. We had such a great night and knew how special this was! Thank you!
Its been 16 years and no one has been able to replace you. I will always love racing but nascar has never been the same since you left. I was 12 then, 28 now and you are still a big inspiration to me.
The absolute best. no one will ever compere to dale earnhardt.
Dennis Piepers in nascar or in racing? If we’re speaking NASCAR then absolutely, but if we’re speaking for racing entirely then I wouldn’t go that far.
@@funny-bv6lo I would put him top 5 in history of racing.
That Daytona 500 victory Lane piece gets me every time!!
Dale loved his fans old or young......He was a true Champion....RIP Dale you have your Mom and Dad now GodBless...
Dale Earnhardt is, was & forever be the best Nascar driver ever to wheel a stock car.
Based on what facts?
Absolutely I agree and I miss him greatly
Fenix based on what facts? Look at the statistics lmao
T G there’s a difference between reality and “what if”
@T G rubbing is racing you pussy snowflake Dale was is and always will be nascar's greatest driver ever
Dale and NASCAR both died on the same day !! As a grown man and a true Earnhardt fan I tear up every time I watch his videos!!
As long ago as it was I still get a lump in my throat when I watch these videos. I dont think Dale ever truly knew how much he was loved.
6:33 and then Theresa would become the most hated woman in NASCAR after dales death
Yup. She was no mother Teresa that’s for sure. She screwed Dale’s kids, wouldn’t let Dale Jr take his number and ruined or at a minimum damaged Dale Sr legacy.
$50 million is a lot of gold digging. She didn’t even like racing.
This does a really good job to summarize Dale's effect on Nascar and how he influenced so so many people, he was such a Natural. He was like the glue that held the league together, he was the greatest driver in modern racing and is such a humble yet incredible family man and person who loved and cared about all his fans. He was definitely irreplaceable so I could understand why it isn't the same as it was than. But legends like Dale are never truly gone. They live in our hearts, memories and Spirit....
I love when Dale said they're taking the car so I took me a spin in the grass to get the good out of it
Aric Snyder I love that moment too!!!!
When Dale got taken away from us, he took most of the entertainment value of Nascar with him
*DALE YOU WERE ARE AND WILL ALWAY BE MY GRANDPA'S,DAD'S, AND MY HERO WE MISS YOU PLEASE SAY HEY TO MY GRANDPA UP ON HEAVEN*
Please say a hi to my grandfather Chuck Sivley, my aunt Tracy Sivley and my great great grandmother Alice Loudermilk in Heaven.
All we have is memories as NASCAR fans. The sport is unwatchable and NASCAR makes no secret of how it hates the old fans. We miss you Dale Earnhardt.
Still loving him and wanting to learn more about him in 2020.
Keep him forever in our minds and our hearts by continuing to produce videos.
Dale will never be forgotten.
This is scary the video of dale talking looks like it was filmed nowadays
How much cooler would the Disney Pixar Cars movies had been with Dale having his own character and being the voice of one of the cars?
Howie Feltersnatch when ever jr was there , he would too,
His last win at Talladega you could hear the roar of the crowd over the engines of the race cars shows how popular he was. Also, am I the only one who noticed that he spun a "3" in the grass after winning the Daytona 500 in 1998? Miss you Dale, the greatest ever.
It was actually a 8 meaning he was going to win his 8th championship
my cousin was working in formula 1 back in 1992 and i remember him saying 'no one knew much about nascar, but they all knew who Earnhardt was'. and that just showed you how respected across the world Dale was. legendary
For what team?
Damn 2010 was an all star class with all the Nascar Greats Johnson, Petty, Earnhardt and both Bill Frances
Ralph would have been proud of his son. Any man worth his salt in this world wants his Daddy to be proud.
I’m always and a life fan of Dale Earnhardt. I couldn’t wait for Nascar Sunday to watch Dale E. Race to win.
He was the the Best and Above the Rest Period..........
I grew up in my dad's garage on Sundays listening to the Winston Cup race on the radio, and he taught me to root for one driver. My dad is my hero!.... but I lost an Idol in 2001 - #3
I’ll remember you dale heroes are remembered but legends never die to the long lasting memorie of dale earnhardt you are remembered 3
It's so mind boggling, baffling and hard to believe he has be gone for 14 years now. It seems like only a couple years ago when he finally won the Daytona 500 in 1998. It's like the same feeling as with Elvis Presley like they are still alive and never have been gone over a decade ago.
Heros never die
If you think about how much Dale means to NASCAR, imagine how much he means to us in Kannapolis
I'm sure he means alot there I'm from Chicago and I have been a Dale Earnhardt and Dale jr fan since 95.
I miss the intimidator alot.
Dale Earnhardt was the best driver NASCAR has ever seen......still no one has filled his shoes. Harvick is getting close.
Harvick doesn't even have one title,,, the only ones close to him now are like Kyle Busch or maybe Brad or joey
Just a hard working man who was kind and as humble as you can be always took time with his fans at events like in Pigeon Forge Tn for Food City nice man always had that sneaky grin....Bill France Jr was a far better leader than the ones in charge today....
Gone but never forgotten.
al pacino 😠😠😠 boys shut the heck up
boy
al pacino Fuck off
My compliments on such a magnificent video honoring the remarkable legend that is Dale Earnhardt.
To us Dale was the best! Jerry and I celebrated upon his Daytona 500 win and we cried when he passed! Now he's watching and smiling at us from Heaven and racing there! My Heavenly crew is enjoying watching him race in Heaven now!
Dale was the best of the best ! And he loved Racing so much he took nascar with him on that last lap...NASCAR will never be the same without him....
Why did Dale look 55 years old at 30 years old and at 51 years old. I swear the man just looked like a dad his entire life.
Man was a legend! I was a fan of him ! The Night Dale passed , i won my first Supercross race at the Shelby Fairgrounds in Shelby NC, my dad and i were so happy , finally at 11 years old i finally made it and only to hear the news on the radio late at night on the way home Dale had passed from his accident. It was an awesome night but ended sadly hearing about his death as my dad and i would go to Charlotte Motor speedway to see him race. May this man rest in peace but never forgotten . Rip#3
I can only imagine the beautiful angel Dale is I hope he watches over all of us my prayers are with the Earnhardt family rip #3 an his son is my best two
How tf was this 18 yrs ago already?
Dale is like the Dennis Anderson of NASCAR. It wouldn’t be what it is without him.
Earnhardt Sr. Died for his son and his good buddy. First time I never seen Earnhardt sr. play defense like that. Its was a beautiful moment and yet filled with tragedy.
Dale put the Fans in the Stands
Dale was the reason I became a race fan. Still can't watch this or his winning the Daytona 500 without getting teary-eyed
There's so much footage nowadays of friends and colleagues talking about Dale posthumously, but to hear the man himself tell his story in his own words is amazing
I miss that man a whole lot I was only nine years old when he passed the one thing I cannot stand it when people say the sport died he died or they stopped watching after he passed you really think that he would want that all the work that he put in to the sport just to see people turn their back on the sport that's just people being selfish he will want you to be more of a race fan and two do everything you can to give everything you can to the sport and be a positive influence on the sport and not being a little pansy and wallowing in your own shit saying woah it's me I really feel sorry for the people that give up that easy because they must give up on themselves a lot I never once turn my back on the sport and I still love it just as much as I did when I was 9 years old as much as I do today and I'm 27 and it's 2020 and next year will be 20 years since that man has passed so do something good and do something positive for someone to do something positive for the sport in Dales name
HE WAS NOT A PERSON WITH A GREAT PERSONALITY HE WAS A GREAT DRIVER THAT IS IT
14 years today RIP Dale
It's really crazy to think I was watching dale way back then and couldn't possibly believe I was watching one of the best ever.
Dale winning the Daytona 500 almost made me cry ! So sweet a victory.
Could you imagine him today in this culture?
Nascar died when Earnhardt died. There will never be another driver like Dale Earnhardt in this life or any other.I watched Nascar because Dale Earnhardt was racing.Rest in peace.
Watching Dale Win the 500 in real time was something I will never forget.. 16 year old kid, rooting him on... We miss you Dale.
That number three has a special meaning to every person that ever watched him race. Not sure if anyone was into f1 but check out max verstappen, he’s the closest ive seen to dales aggressive style.
No one can do it like he did RIP dale
I'm the same age now that he was when he died. He was my idol and superhero as a kid growing up. I got into racing dirt track stock cars the same year as he happened to have passed. I had already worked on my number 29 car for about 6 months before the season started and it was a dismal Pontiac that kept us mid pack to top 10ish which wasn't bad for the pos that it was. 2001 when Dale Jr won the summer daytona race I was driving the same 29 car that I won the heat race with that night. I finished 3rd in the main and of all the cars out there I kept my horn connected in my stock car and honked it down the straight with my 3rd place and held my 3 fingers up proudly....I took one more lap that was only supposed to be for the winner and when I entered 3 and 4 the maybe 500 fans still there, were standing with their 3's in the air. One of the proudest moments of my life. I'll never forget Dale the racer and man....you youngins learn who he was both on and off the track...great hero to look up to!!
Kinda cool how the top 3 drivers in NASCAR history all represent different manufacturers(Petty/Plymouth, Pearson/Ford, Earnhardt Sr./Chevrolet)
RIP champ, you were the best there ever was.
Dale Earnhardth is the best in the world
Thank you for the upload, and the 4000 adverts you cut out of this documentary :D
Sure do miss all this . At 57 I grew up with all these guys. Special times. Junior johnsons no.11 monte carlo best ever.
Dale Earnhardt will hopefully never be forgotten.
I'll always wonder what DEI could have been
What a touching story and tribute to the Great # 3 ! Showed how he felt, deep down in his heart about the Sport that he loved so very much! He truly loved God, His country, Family... and Racing like the Wind 🌬Rest Now Dale with your Dad in Heaven 🙏✨
His wife ruined DEI
Sam S. Yoko Ono 2.0
Yep just like Yoko Ono ruined the Beetles. Theresa ruined DEI. It’s a shame that Junior had to go to Hendricks Motors to compete and then build his own racing company. Junior, Kerry and Kelly should have gotten DEI outright. It’s a travesty

Nascar will never be the same, we can all agree on that. But life marches on and the world keeps turning. The closest thing I think we have in Nascar today is Smoke. No two men are ever the same, but I'm glad there are little glimmers of Dale's legacy in each and every driver on the racetrack. We miss you Dale. #3
Wish I would have seen this man race more.I have watched full races of from when he started all the way to the 2001 daytona 500.That man could drive!!
