As a mexican norteña, you are a little bit lost güero, but i gonna tell you in spanish, since you're interested

@@ToastFGC sadly that is a common myth, burritos trace their point of origin to various places and times, from the way tortillas were used by the mayan civilization to how the Pueblo people used tortillas. However the term burrito has been identified as just a term for a rolled taco in the state of Guanajuato dating back to the late 1800s, giving the food a Mexican origin.
What you're probably referring to are mission style burritos, invented in a California long after the birth of the original burrito.

For anyone who doesn't know what this person is talking about, Burritos were first invented in Texas by farmers to give to laborers, and they were not good tasting. Then in Colorado the wet burrito was invented, the first decent tasting burrito. Then in San Francisco La Taqueria invented the mission style burrito which is what we call a burrito today. (Named after the mission district in SF.) The now not wet burrito was invented in San Francisco, and La Taqueria still makes the OG burrito to today, and yes it's quite good. The burrito is as American as apple pie.
During the Trump administration an American moved to Mexico City. They were shocked Mexico City had not heard of the mission style burrito let alone the flour tortilla, so they opened up a stall and started selling burritos in Mexico. It was a huge hit and spread like wildfire. Today in most of Mexico you can now get a mission style burrito.
edit: I'm getting lots of responses. For clarification flour tortillas were not common in Mexico City until recently. I didn't say "there are not flour tortillas in Mexico", I said Mexico City specifically. Please improve your reading comprehension people.
