So this restaurant was murdering Zootopia's citizens and serving them to carnivores under the guise of the usual imitations? That's pretty dark. Also, that was a nice touch having Chef Remy in the kitchen. He just fits so well with Zootopia.

Here it feels dark, but we humans do the "dark" thing in real life millions of times each day. (Meaning eating animals)
By the way, I like the ending, when Nick tells "And they had such good soup too". This means he eat real prey animals before with the soup in this restaurant and that he liked the taste of doing so.

damn right, cannibal cafe. I could certainly understand the fake stuff, but imagine how they got the real meat! that's some freaking SAW level things! capturing what are basically civilians, slicing them up, and then feeding them to customers who think they're eating high protein synthetics.

Theres been a number of hints of a second movie or short (Well in my eyes anyway) in some extra's they were talking about wild times (A deleted plot) and the director said he liked the wild times idea and regretted deleting it but he also said "We've gotta find a way to bring that back, I don't know how but you'll see somewhere it will reappear"
'You'll see' I mean why would he say 'You'll see' if there wasn't plans for a second movie...
v8luver64 well Zootopia has the best chance of getting a sequel that you can get and I think it will be even better than the first. They had to do a 180 on the story with less than a year before release, that's why there are so many deleted scenes, most were from the original script that had to be tossed and the rest from ideas animated and then realizing that they wouldn't fit logically. The biggest example is the scene where Judy uses the police computer to find Nick, they realized that her having access to the ZPD system would make Nick irrelevant after Mystic Springs. It feels like they were animating and writing simultaneously. Imagine if they can produce a movie with a polished finalized script that they aren't doing on the fly

It was covered more in the original draft, but Nick gives part of the canon answer anyway.
Carnivores and omnivores in Zootopia get their animal protein from two sources:
At the low end of the economic scale, you have insect protein. Very easy to farm, and thus very cheap. The most notable chain is BugBurga, which serves a variety of insect-based foods, such as cricket chips, cicada burgers, and grasshopper shakes (made with real grasshopper). It's not fancy, but it'll help you get by. (If you look closely, there's a BugBurga Styrofoam container on the ground the second time Nick and Judy meet.)
At the upper levels, it's fish, which never reached sentience in the world of Zootopia. As briefly glimpsed in Tundratown, there are plenty of seafood restaurants, with a lot of options from sushi to plank-roasted salmon.
So the average omnivore or carnivore would pick up some ground beetle at the store for making burgers and such, along with some cans of tuna.

Don't be silly. That wasn't a tooth. It's the wrong size and shape, and you wouldn't use the jaw in beef and barley soup, anyway.
No, it looks more like either a piece of femur or possibly a segment of spinal column. The hollow portion means it can't be a rib, and the size lets out most of the smaller bones. I'm guessing vertebra, myself, given you'd normally save the femur to boil the marrow from.

I'm pretty sure that humans made cows by breeding cow-like animals for centuries. Because humans don't exist here; cows, dogs and cats don't either. I'm not 100% sure about that, but it's a theory.

Judy's landlady is Dharma Aramadillo (Spanish pronunciation, /ar-mah-DEE-yo/). And the filmmakers confirm that reptiles have their own cities and just don't visit Zootopia very often. Same for birds and amphibians.
