Hi , a Kiwi wood cutter here. I do rings about 3" across and 14' thick use a slide flat plate ram and a verticle blade made of 3 axe welded together. 10 hp marine diesel running the hydraulic pump. Very home made. Lots of shitty, knotty native timber but it does ok. My log fire devours small wood so I try to keep the lumps about 14"x5". The rest is kindling 🙂

Didn’t know there was such demand for firewood. I left about an 8th of a fresh cut and split cord of hackberry right beside the road thinking someone might take it. Finally picked it up a month ago. Can’t even give it away unless I would deliver it but it will sell for $8 for a small bundle all over the place.

No joke I saw a tree cutter Cut a Limb trying to cut a limb 🦵. I have cut wood all my life and back in the 90s I was getting a lot of wood. Another guy cut a leg clean off and the guy on the loader was petrified and frozen. This guy almost died. Wood cutting equipment ain't no toy. An amputation in the field is horrible when you try to cut a limb & you cut off a limb. Be Careful.

The only homemade machine I seen so far that I was really impressed with is the circular cut-off saw at a angle @16:40, that one should be marketed, I could configure-ate that in all sorts of applications, even level with power feed for tree length. All the others are crap and or dangerous, and or to slow, and or for only small wood, and or just plain stupid..........
