Why is my mattress sagging in the middle?

Unfortunately, there is no solution for a mattress that is sagging as bad as the one in the video, aside from replacing the entire mattress. You could open the mattress and replace the comfort layer, but most people do not have the time or skill to do this. Having this done professionally would be cost prohibitive.
The best alternative is to switch to a natural latex mattress. The comfort layer in natural latex mattresses will most often be made of Dunlop natural latex. "Dunlop" refers to the process of baking the rubber tree sap into supportive, pressure relieving foam. GOLS certified latex foam will not sag like polyurethane. Bought an avocado mattress with pillowtop (latex hybrid ) and a month into it, it has a 1-1.5 inch dip when I measure head to toe. Side to side measures about 0.5 inches dip. mattress is on 3/4inch plywood that is supported by 5 slats that each have a support leg In the middle. Is that normal?! Am I measuring wrong by doing it head to toe as apposed to side to side the way you did it in this video? Should I look to replace it or try to go with a different company altogether? What latex mattress company would recommend? Thank you for your insight, I really need guidance!

Hi Cristian, when I measure for dips, it is usually side to side. What are you using for a straight edge. It is strange that you are getting two different sagging measurements on the same mattress.
Natural latex mattresses may develop slight dips due to the wool settling and compressing. The natural latex does sag significantly if it is genuine, 100% natural latex.
