Thanks for sharing your nicely taken video of Journey--I love it !! Another goosebumps performance of AP! He sings ballad songs full of soul and emotions and when he sings rock--the whole crowd rocks with him---he commands the stage with his incredible performance !! ,~AP has that tenor unique masculine voice that has a natural rasp that makes it amazing !! He masters the song perfectly and is able to sing like in-studio recording while he is doing Concerts on LIVE---night after night !!! AP"s vocal versatility, talent, and unbelievable energy are the fuel that keeps the Journey Concert rocking for many years !! Can't wait to see Journey Concert with AP again--SOON !!
Steve was the man! But holy hell! There is nobody better on the planet to fill his shoes than Arnel! What a fantastic voice you have Arnel God given talent!
Finally! People just got so used to Deen's version. They thought it was OK but actually full of falsetto and nasal singing. This is real singing. Funny even Arnel Sings it like Deen which he should not.
First, Deen needs serious help with his drug addiction and anger issues. You don't ever hit your wife or significant other. You don't threaten them....period. That being said, I am sure Deen is a good person who is in a dark place. His addiction made him do things he wouldn't otherwise do. That's no justification, however. He needs help now. Musically, Deen is a great drummer and vocalist. Clearly, his vocals for this song and Mother Father are missed. Arnel does a good job, but Deen's vocals are a better fit. Also, overall, Deen's harmonies with Arnel on other songs are missed. Omar is a solid drummer. However, I am sure Neal, Jonathan, Ross and Arnel will give Deen another chance once he is back to being himself again. I could hardly recognize Deen in his mugshot. He was disheveled and lost a lot of weight. He did not look like himself. He needs help....
Deen used to sing it slightly better and bigger than Arnel. That's why Deen would sing it. Doing Perry is hard work and requires a huge amount of lung capacity and stamina. Try singing one, much less one after another. All great singers.
Arnel sang it in pure tenor voice while Deen in falsetto. That is 2 different vocals. Deen would sing it so that Arnel can take a song break in a concert. Fyi, Arnel's voice came from his diaphram, if you'll sing in full lung capacity then 5 song and you're done. Arnel's been there and done that, you got no idea.
I remember meeting the band. Steve was very nice. So was neal. Steve Smith. Being in a special ed class. Getting teased because I had disabilies. That whole band was very nice to see me . Great roll models. Its sad Steve is no longer with Journey. And having disabilies. I can remember working hard. To save up to go see Journey in St. Paul. Shoveling nieghbors driveways. Yardwork. Scuba diving in a pond to look for gulf balls to sell to make money , so I could go see Journey. Buy there new albums. Sing there songs in my friends gatage bands. Im not to interested in there new singers that replaced Steve Perry. Its the nands business. And I still have my old Journey albums. 8 track tapes. And remember the leaches I had from diving for gulf balls. I have a lot of great memories of Steve Perry. That guy lit up that crowd
Arnel is the only one that comes close to Steve Perry, but (yes there is a but) he still is not Steve Perry! But they make a great cover band the way they are know.
he sang it very well his version is better than anybody his voice wow no one can compare him he is only the one

No excitement in the drummer's playing. Sounds like a drummer in a Broadway musical. Horrid. Bring back Steve Smith!
