I know alot about Steve Perry beings I seen him live in concert growing up in Houston back in 1983. As a accomplished singer myself there is no other man who can out sing Steve Perry
A lot of the facts in this video are wrong. For instance, his Mother gave him the pendant with the musical note. Not his Grandparents. He was also much younger when he started singing at home. Those are just a couple of examples, there were many more. I appreciate the attempt to honor Steve anyway.

You start the entire story all over again after over 8½ minutes! The singer and song that inspired Perry was Sam Cooke and "Cupid," so whoever's reading the script doesn't know enough about Perry's background to know that the writer got both names wrong.
You should listen to "traces" listen to "I NEED YOU" "IN THE RAIN" "YOU BELONG TO ME" His voice is more raspy but Steve has masterd the sound. Those songs I mentioned are bone chilling because there's a story behind the songs

I think Steve let people know what he wanted them to know, he discussed his family life, he discussed his personal life, why he didn't get into relationships and why the relationship with Sherrie Swafford never worked out, so when he was asked he would answer, yes he is a very private mysterious gentleman, and I think we should respect that, I mean I do.
No one really knows Steve Perry except himself and the man upstairs,
But what I do know is this man took Journey to heights im sure they never even imagined, I know he graced us all with his god gifed voice, he could belt out a song like no other performer, with pure emotion and power, that you would feel in your heart & soul, I believe he is a beautiful person inside and out just wanted to have a normal life and yes he fulfilled his dream and as he said it was magical but sometimes being on the top isnt everything that its craked up to be, so why should everyone think it's weird & wonder why he decided to walk away from fame, 🤷, I'm sure he did a lot of soul-searching and realized that it's not the way he wanted his life , always in turmoil, always on the road, never no privacy, I wouldn't want my life to be that way, I say kudos to Steve Perry,, he will always be the BEST singer and I admire him tremendously. And also his fans love him tremendously and he will always be in their hearts for sure..

@@cden409 I wasn't denying that this is his full name, just saying, he never called himself anything but Steve. He was my heartthrob growing up, and I ate up EVERYTHING he and Journey put out. Interviews, videos, appearances on talk shows!!! I was SO in LOVE. I still am, but it's with his voice.
