0:49-0:56 When we were young, we trained from swinging racket over two months, then to learn smash.. 0:58 So the standard action is the most important. 1:00 In fact, there are 4 steps for the action. 1:02 Step 1: Ready. 1:04 Step 2: Position yourself in a straight line towards shuttle 1:07 Step 3: Racket preparation/take the racket back. 1:08 Step 4: Hit the shuttle in the air with correct motion. 1:10 Dropped back to the ground. 1:11 Relax when you jump
-Not a power stroke, more of a technique. -Apply force diagonally, not vertically. This is achieved by following through. -Smashing can be broken down into 4 steps: 1. Ready position--1:03 2. Form a straight line with your arms and the path of the bird -- 1:05 3. Bend your elbow, letting the racket fall behind you-- 1:07 4. Swing with body turn. -- 1:08
@iggybooi He basically says amateurs use too much power on the elbow instead of swing the whole arms downward. He emphasizes getting the whole movement right steps by steps. On interesting point he mentions is that u can tighten ur abs to bend ur body and generate more power~Hope it helps!
1:12-1:14 Whiping the racket in the air by power of waist muscles. 1:16 Bend yourselves by muscles of waist and abdomen 1:19 Get shuttle speed better. 1:20 Release the all power at the position you hit the ball 1:23-26 Jumping smash like athletes is not easy. 1:27-33 At first, need to master correct smashing action, then improve muscles of leg and waist by practice. 1:34-42 For feet thrust against the ground, release the power in the air by waist muscles, then power pass to the arm.
even though i cant speak mandarin i can still understand it (i speak in Cantonese and english) seems very useful and told you the correct techniques and not to twist you elbow but use your shoulders more
1:43-45 Smashing like this can get higher speed. 1:48-51 Mastering the hit point is crucial at the same time. 1:52-55 Athletes normally hit the shuttle at the highest position as they can. 1:56-59 Hitting the shuttle should be in front of body. 2:00-07 Amateurs always get the shuttle behind themselves or too low for it to be returned, which is not good for releasing power and flexibility of Techniques skills. 2:18-2:37 repeat 1:00-1:20 2:39-2:48 repeat 0:35-0:42 3:22 prepare to test
Its all in the fluid motion. The most important movement in a smash is the wrist action. That is where most of the power is generated. Sure you can set yourself up to jump into the smash and swing your arm as fast as you can but it will never beat a strong wrist. A good follow through helps keep the shot consistent and accurate and reduces injuries. Here's hoping China finally wins gold for men's doubles!
0:26 because action of amateurs is not correct. 0:28 play badminton like this way (wrong way) 0:30 rather than like this way(right example). 0:32-0:34 If you always play like this way, your elbow easily get hurt and cause the problem. 0:35 Firstly, correct your motion like this. 0:37 Torso rotates 0:39 If you wanna jump 0:41 And combine power of waist muscle 0:42 Torso rotates 0:44-0:46 Generally, If you want to learn smash from standard motion. 0:47 Regulate their own actions.
Step 1: get ready. Step 2: position yourself in a straight line towards shuttle (Don't have to be too straight, just slant alittle), Step 3: racket up, Step 4: hit it in mid air with correct follow thru action. He said to use more of arm then just elbow as it may injure ourselves, get the correct technique then start smashing.
It is not a deliberate gesture but a natural reaction which fit perfectly in physics. If you ever think of why coaches taught us that one should stand side on, you'll realize that the purpose of torso rotation is to trigger forearm pronation which spins reversely to your torso. Take a right hander for example, rotation of you torso is counterclockwise (if you look downward from your head). Then the subsequent rotation of your forearm (i.e. pronation) would be clockwise.
0:00-0:08 "Fu haifeng (double player) keeps the world record of smashing speed (332 km/hr) for the badminton" 0:12-0:14 They may feel smashing is a motion with much power. 0:16 It's wrong. 0:18-0:20 Because amateurs always want to smash, they force themselves play badminton with much power. 0:22-0:25 so this reason causes the injury like elbow injury.
He would have it higher than 28, people who play pro for England have it at like 30/31 lbs and he is the most powerful player in the world so I would expect him to have like 37lbs or something, but it's all personal preference
I am a junior with a weak smash. Anyone can return my smash with a high lift. This forces me to keep smashing and I get tired very fast. People can even return my "netkills" or some easy midcourt smashes. Do I need to go to the gym or improve my technique. I think sometimes I accidentally slice the shuttle. Also smash not steep. Thanks Natty
Try and follow the instruction in the video~ focus on the motion, angle and direction of the smash. Patrice with a training partner. Make sure the rotation feels natural. Going to the gym may help. Not necessarily for the muscle in your arm but the overall strength of the body and possibly lose the fat that deters you from generating power. (belly fat slows a person down)
@CheBeaudoin it's a ghost!! you can see him running through the 1st and 2nd door... and never showed up to the 3rd door... no man can do a full stop with that kind of velocity!!! haha just kiddin :P
Woo~ Chinese sweep. I feel bad for Lee Chong Wei, Taufik and the Korean mens double though. I hoped Taufik could at least get a bronze only if he didnt face elimination from the top 2. The Koreans would have been a better finals then the Danes. And Lee Chong Wei, what can I say? Nobody can beat Lin Dan when it matters.

Pro trick : you can watch movies at kaldroStream. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Armani Oakley Yea, been watching on kaldroStream for months myself :)
Thx bro, God bless
even he is not jumping for the smashes, hear that sound. I'm not dare to stand opposite of him.

wohooo~this is definitely what i'm looking for!!! Thanks mybadmintonnet for sharing this! Fu Haifeng forever~

Thank you!
The shuttle flies downwards in a very steep trajectory, slides on very near edge of the net. What a miracle!
even though i cant speak mandarin i can still understand it (i speak in Cantonese and english) seems very useful and told you the correct techniques and not to twist you elbow but use your shoulders more
can anyone sub this ? omfg . . .. im desperate

2:48 holy shit, hitting with such ease yet so powerful, damn !!

they sent Fu HaiFeng in war, he just used his racket to kill xD

most players, I only hear the explosion effect once the shuttle hits the racket. But to this guy, the racket sounds like a whip lash.
see that racket bend in the slow motion video..bloody hell!!
the slow mo bit loots like he just levitates for a while in mid air for the shot lol
damn man im dead with his smash.really fast and strong.his arm like fighter
@tacticalmarine No when u hit smashes, u do not use the center of the net to approach the shuttle. You should use the upper part of the net instead
The key to badminton is to have a race advantage (Asian).

holy shit left handed what an alien

nice smash
sound of smash is incredible lol
Kason. As far as I know, you can only buy them off the net or in China. So hard to find one locally
@2:17, you can see how the racket bends at the stem because of the force!
其實殺球絕對沒有他說的那麼容易,有很多細節是要注意跟練習的
i dont understand chinese, but i like this video for the sound of smash and the ultra slow motion video of smash!
@jisungyu2 i think his raquet is strung to about 28lbs any over the raquet would probably break
Any Info on the racquet and String( tension Also)?
anybody knows what string does he use and at what tension?
I am guessing Kason Professional-75 at 30lbs.
I like the sound a lot.
@2:32 the random person running past the window in the background :p
thanks a lot lavahx, very helpfull...
what racquet is he using here?...

String tension + empty gym :) Crank up the tension to at least 30 pounds... assuming your racquet frame can take that much tension.

Natty Bumpo @you can use with smash and drop shot and vice versa to make your opponent in out of their position
@AllanCalebs1 thanks
I wonder how much tension they string their rackets at...
I heard, it was around 37.
37... wtf
fu hai feng 32
Chinese players back then had 31-32 pounds tension strings
@CheBeaudoin it's a ghost!! you can see him running through the 1st and 2nd door... and never showed up to the 3rd door... no man can do a full stop with that kind of velocity!!! haha just kiddin :P
Smash si fu imbang lahh ama smashku, sayang dulu waktu pelatihan di Wuhan 2 hari ijin makanya smashku agak lemah kalah sama si fu
I think he's using 31 lb here. He's currently using Kason F9 at 32 lb.
Said Fu , Foot Work and other basic thing is more important than Smesh....hahaha
already tested li ning ap62 string and it sound like this one.try it jump and PARGHHHHH!
that sound...
What kind of racquet is he holding?
Somebody, please comment the translation of this. This seems valuable.
he say go with the flow of your body~~ and he say they train the technique of smashing first for two months only they really train smashing
is that how a gun shot supposed to sound like??
speed unbelievable!!!
@juniortadukpolod it's from a meme if you must know =) of course it's a joke.

*Fu haifeng teach you to smash..
But in Chinese 🤦

so cool!

1:22
one guy got scared of the gun shot just lyk the guy from 2:32 and cliked the dislyk buttom when he was going for the like
and some how his strings manage not to break
Believe or not, pronation is the essence of how to conduct a powerful throw (smash in badminton, pitches in baseball, serves in tennis).
Sick
why cant i make that sound when i hit :(
i bet at one point... he smashed it and the bird disappeared..
sub title?????
Wtf how does he make that noise
