Every post is just too relatable, a lot of us seem to have this huge problem creating content around our everyday lives, but watching your videos makes me realize things don’t have to be perfect. It’s about the story you tell and more. This is what hooked me into your videos in the first place.
"Done is better than perfect, and done feels better than hanging on for something for way too long." ouuuuff, I needed to hear this. Thanks Riza. I've got footage from my 25 day motorcycle ride across Italy that I've been sitting on for months because I want to make everything PERFECT and I'm worried about not making it good enough... Guess it's time I just dive in. If you guys ever wanna do anything related to motorcycles, or need bikes for a project or anything, in Toronto, hit me up!
I’ve been a content creator for 13 years this year and your style, work ethic and passion makes me so proud and excited to continue creating. Thanks for every video. ❤
"if you are not enjoying it, then you might be taking things a little to seriously" This really stood out to me. Sometimes it really feels like we are forcing it, we end up stressing ourselves and this could lead to pausing for long durations. As you said in the beginning of the video "done is better than perfect".
”I found your channel and it really helped me out“ I started my own channel to share my stories, but at one point, it went dark because nobody was watching. Then my channel grew with gaming content, so I started making games for a while, but then it went dark again. That’s when I stumbled upon the ‘Life of Riza’ channel. I watched your clips over and over again until it sparked my motivation to restart my channel. So, I started vlogging again. I don’t care anymore if anyone sees it. I just want to document my current stories for my future self to look back on. So, thank you so much ‘Life of Riza’. Hopefully, someday, I’ll learn English to share my stories with the world even more. Thank you very much. ✌🏻🎬
What Riza calls a vlog has so much in the way of life lessons, philosophy, filming, cinematography, music selection and editing. Each is like a piece of art, but so much more, as is so relatable.
You are literally one of the biggest inspirations on UA-cam. I'm so happy I stumbled upon your channel about a year ago. You push me to be more creative and I'm truly grateful for the movies you put on the platform. Here's to experiments, experience, and growth.
"everything that doesn't work is just as the stuff that does work". too relatable, the struggle of perfectionism is real guys. thanks for opening my eyes!
omg thank you so much for sharing the "done is better than perfect" part - I think that might need to be my new motto bc I am such a perfectionist and I have such a hard time finishing projects ahh
ughhh this hit so hard, i feel like i try to make everything so perfect that i get lost in the process and lose my vision too. i forget the real motivation and the joy, thanks for the reminder!!
You're so quotable. It's amazing. All of the advice in this is so underrated. Thank you for being a part of this community and letting us into your life.
"Everything that is an amalgamation of you, that is what you lean into." So powerful. Invaluable points you mentioned there about adding our personality to the videos we make. I will start implementing this to my own videos. Thanks for this Riza! ❤ ❤
so happy to see that your workspace has turned out so nicely!! esp w that shot where you were writing your "ideas" on the whiteboard, i felt so happy for you :') honestly i look forward to every video you put out, and like you said towards the end, your vlogs aren't the conventional ones that we all know and love, but you taking your own spin on it and making it uniquely lifeofriza is what makes it so alluring and wonderful and satisfying to watch! it's a whole other experience that you provide for us that normal vlogs just can't satisfy; it's like short films on relatable topics for the audience (me, entering my twenties) and i really appreciate it
What I like about these videos is that each one is reflective. It is not just a window into someone's daily life, but a window into someone's life lessons and experiences.
this is such a beautiful video to watch, I loved identifying which shots you used from which videos haha! Struggling with perfectionism is one of the weirdest things ever, you want to make something really great but you're also not letting yourself create other amazing things. Another amazing video Riza- proud to say I have been here since the start and cannot wait to see what you do next !!
Telling our stories is so important these days. There is so much we can learn from one another, but only when we share ourselves. Thank you Kariza for just being you and inspiring the rest of us to take that leap as well 😁
Done is better than perfect thank is something I need to add to my workflow. In the past, I have battled with perfectionism on my channel and it has made me take long to create videos but after watching this video am inspired to make an upload for this week.
When you said the first point it made me think of this quote: “A great painter is the one who knows when to stop painting the painting” ❤ Love your videos btw
This one reminded me of the art of documentation and why I fell in love with it in the first place. Over the past year, a few instances (and people) made me want to stay away from it, but when you said “if you're not having fun, you're taking it too seriously” that really resonated with me.
I love the "practice on smaller canvases" line. Coming from a feature film background to now vlogging everyday I find my life, ideology and work and approach being liberated. Great video! Thank you :)
I’ve been looking for something like your channel for a long time. With so much sensationalism on UA-cam, it’s wonderful to hear a real truly soulful voice. Thank you. Definitely pressing the sub.
Honestly speaking, I'm more than thankful because your vlogs are the most beautiful videos on UA-cam and they always make my day and kinda make me feel like I should start working or studying ! Hehe keep going please ❤
I am so in love and inspired by your words , and not everyone sounds as genuine as you do on UA-cam! You truly touch us with your content but mostly by your calm words and calm aura❤ You are the green flag to anyone who is struggling or demotivated . Thank you for being here❤
“Done is better than perfect” the ideal mindset for all creatives no matter what field ❤ As someone who struggled with perfectionism(still do), what I learned is that it is exactly what HOLDS ME BACK from developing my skills because it made me feel that I CAN’T MAKE MISTAKES/FAIL which is the biggest enemy of GROWTH
Your channel is so inspiring! I've been working professionally in video production for about 10 years and I'm blown away by your framing, editing and coloring 🙏
Such an inspiring video! Loved the lessons on embracing imperfection and the importance of experimenting. Congrats on 10 months of vlogging and reaching half a million subscribers! Can't wait to see what's next! 😊📹✨
I love your channel and your energy. You are so calm and composed in all of your videos, which makes me feel calm too. Whenever I need to quiet my thoughts, I find solace in watching any of your videos. Love your work!
Thank you, I've been trying to start a channel for over a year now, but I've been so caught up on the details that I haven't even started. You've reminded me to stop being so serious and to enjoy the process.
Love this! We are on a journey right now of figuring out what content we actually want to make and digging into what we love as opposed to imitation or doing what you are "supposed" to do. So these words really struck home. Thank you!
“Done is better than perfect, and done feels better than hanging on for something for way too long” Love this! We can always do and learn to be better ❤
Thanks so much for posting this. I have been trying to find my "style" in vlogging for a few years now, and I enjoyed listening to the lessons you've learned. I tend to try different "styles" of vlogging, but recently I have felt the need to go back to square one. I really like how dynamic and engaging your clips are and how it is interwoven with the talking part. Ultimately, I really resonate with visual storytelling as a creative outlet...especially the use of music to set a mood. Best of luck as you near your 1 year anniversary, and thanks again for sharing your stories with us. 💜
Seriously, it's my favorite channel. I've been watching since like 20k subs, and I am so happy for you that this is what you can make a living of. There's no one who makes videos like you. Keep It up
Was introduced to your content back when you had 100K subs - was wondering if YT was just sleeping on you; so great to see your channel grow. I admire how genuine and present you are in your videos. Can't wait for you to reach your 365 days of vlogging and more!
No idea how inspiring this video was for me! I'm always afraid of creating because I want to be perfect from the first try and scared of what other people are going to think of me. i need to stop caring and do whatever i want!
The combination of story-telling, cinematography, and vlogging is something I aspire to do one day. Sure, it's a lot of effort but definitely worth sharing the end-product. Cheers to your success and future endeavors!
I am so in owe by your creative process and can't thank you enough for all the work you've done this year. When I first came across your video "this might holding you back" I felt a huge vague of inspiration. Now I finally started my UA-cam channel and made that scary first move which is to just do it ! My favorite advice : "Experimentation is key".
I am sooo happy to say that you are my favourite youtuber ❤......Just a reminder that never stop !! You are helping many peoples out here surviving and living....Keep grinding and glowing ✨❤️
This is SUCH solid advice. I’ve just started a vlog and I’ve caught myself overthinking sooooo many times, and by the time I finally finish a video I’m over it 😅 I’ll be taking on this advice, thanks for your absolute talent and authenticity 🥰😘♥️
The "lean into what you like" resonates a lot because the video-making process has been just that. A lot of experimentation, and honestly a great medium to get to know myself. When I got frustrated trying to do what everyone else was doing, I finally threw out my preconceived notions of what /thought/ I should be doing out the window and have been slowly doing me. It's been fun, because even I don't know what I'm going to put out next sometimes. It's a constant journey of self-exploration haha
I recently uploaded my first attempt at cinematography because of you, Riza!! I used Epidemic Sound and realized that music is the key. I'm more auditory smart so I feel emotions when I listen to music, and started with your soundtrack. What came out of it was a 3 minute video I never thought would be created. I've unlocked my path in the creative process.
This is a mindful moment I really need someone to bring up. I keep trying to achieve perfection, but that quote shook my perspective. If it’s fun, it’s already perfect. Thanks for enlightening me today.
I decided to do a vlog on my channel with self help topics and often times I feel like my life is too mundane to be interesting, but seeing the simplicity of your videos and their success has inspired me to not worry about that and just do what I enjoy doing. It makes me feel like your passion for what you do is captivating enough. Thank you!
“done is way better than perfect, and done feels better than hanging on to something for way too long” THIS HIT ME SOOO HARD 😢 i’ve been trying to edit my ‘ph to uk journey’ vlog for a year now but as a perfectionist, it’s taking sooo long to the point that I feel like I couldn’t finish it huhu. This is prolly one of the signs and/or motivations that I need. Thank you for being an inspiration. 🥹 ily!! 🤍
Done is 100% better than perfect. Started vlogging consistently after watching your journey and not taking things too seriously has helped me just have fun and see the authentic art in the things I am creating. Much love Riza
The fact that you call them vlogs!! They’re movies 😍😍😍 love your videos Karizaaa. Lovely lessons. Also I recognized every epidemic sound song you used by name ahaha I’ve used them before
Im so glad that I've discovered your channel. Its not only relatable, it really inspires me. I know this doesn't sound much, but for me, i feel like something changed inside of me. Thank you! 😊
I ended up having to remove all my content a couple months ago and I was devastated. I’ve spent a few weeks working on a personal film and now I’m almost ready to start again. You’re so right finding out what doesn’t work is progress. Love your videos 😊
“Done is better than perfect” As a perfectionist, this is something I needed to hear! I gotta get on with finishing a video series that’s been past due for a few months now so that I can move on to more/newer projects that I’ve been wanting to do. Gonna try to finish it as soon as I can. Thanks for making this video!
i found your channel when you had less than 100k subscribers and i found out today that you're over half a million. that's actually insane--thank you for being such an inspiration!
Hey Kariza 👋, I remember when I started subscribing to your channel, you happened to be at the early stages of you cinematically vlogging your life. (I think your most recent vlog at that time was “why hobbies are important”.) Just like you (and so many others), I also grew up casting aside certain things that have made me unique for the sake of successfully fitting in with my peers, only for me to realize that would be the very reason I felt like I had no idea who I was and what I wanted to do with my life. Upon discovering other creative people (like you) however, I felt very inspired to not only reconnect with those things, but also explore what I can do with my creativity as a result. Here’s one thing I’ve learned from not only my personal experience with creating things in general, but also that of other people (yourself included). It’s normal to have our own ideal expectations for ourselves and the things we aspire to create, and experience obstacles like self-doubt and perfectionism along the way. But when we let those obstacles overwhelm us in the process, we end up either taking way too much time with our creations or never finishing them at all. Hence, I couldn’t agree more with everything you’ve learned from your personal experience with cinematically vlogging your life so far. That being said, I think many of us (myself included) create things because it’s something that not only fulfills us on the inside, but also gives our lives more meaning. Although that comes with certain obstacles like self-doubt and perfectionism, at the end of the day we owe it to ourselves to spend our time creating things with such enthusiasm from within. Sending you lots of love!!! ❤️❤️❤️🤗 Ritchie P.S. Here are my thumbs up to you just in case you’re thinking about making a second channel (4:06). 👍👍 You’re welcome! 😉
It the first few minutes, I have learned a lot and rekindled my creative side on creating my videos. I clung too long to videos I wanted to perfect that I stopped creating, I stopped writing and drawing, This hits directly. Thank you for sharing and helping me realize something that I lost on my way to perfection.
I love your videos and I absolutely love the time you take into making them. I miss the old UA-cam where I was refreshing my fav youtuber's page weekly to see if they had uploaded something new, and to see your upload rate is just perfect. I love how perfectly paced every video is. I hope you go on for many years
Can you please do a video talkin about your editing style? I love how your footage comes out it looks so aesthetic. What settings do you use when recording and how do you color grade? I’d love to know.
You have mastered the art of precision, hope you continue doing this until 2060, i'd be nice to know you are out there creating more wonders. Well done Riza
Absolutely spot on 🙏 another epic episode, my wife and I are just starting our vlog journey and we learned so much from just our 1st episode -and its episodes like this that affirm that we’re in the right track. Thank you for and amazing episode 🏆✨
Yoooo! I just wanted to share: I just started using storyboards (painfully simple) to help with my process- and wow what a difference it makes 🤯 thanks for recommendation 💪
Girl I love all of your videos so much! You can tell the amount of time and effort you put into them -it pays off!! The messages behind them are amazing! 💕
"done is better than perfect because perfect is never done"

Framing this on my wall brb
Riza!
"if you're not having fun you're taking it too seriously" deeply hits
Every post is just too relatable, a lot of us seem to have this huge problem creating content around our everyday lives, but watching your videos makes me realize things don’t have to be perfect. It’s about the story you tell and more. This is what hooked me into your videos in the first place.
Except her videos are perfect 😅 🥰🥰🥰🥰
"Ironically, that is the first thing we turn off, and the journey is about getting back there". That hits so hard
Life of Riza is our gold standard on UA-cam.
"Done is better than perfect, and done feels better than hanging on for something for way too long." ouuuuff, I needed to hear this. Thanks Riza. 4:07 Wait, another channel!!! I'm sooo excited 🥳
I’ve been a content creator for 13 years this year and your style, work ethic and passion makes me so proud and excited to continue creating. Thanks for every video. ❤
The cinematography on your videos is so interesting to watch, such a unique style! Keep up the good work!
such a ray of sunshine you are riza. your videos just make me happy and they just speak to me like no other person ever. precious you are
"if you are not enjoying it, then you might be taking things a little to seriously"
This really stood out to me. Sometimes it really feels like we are forcing it, we end up stressing ourselves and this could lead to pausing for long durations. As you said in the beginning of the video "done is better than perfect".
”I found your channel and it really helped me out“
I started my own channel to share my stories, but at one point, it went dark because nobody was watching.
Now i checked & subscribed your channel...😊

“Done is better than perfect” thank you for being such an inspiration Kariza.
"Everything that is an amalgamation of you, that is what you lean into." So powerful. Invaluable points you mentioned there about adding our personality to the videos we make. I will start implementing this to my own videos. Thanks for this Riza! ❤ ❤
I’m a new fan and just want to share that your vlogs bring so much joy and peace!
Love the last part you said about taking things too seriously. You're a huge inspiration, Riza!
I really appreciate your style, both cinematography and storytelling
so happy to see that your workspace has turned out so nicely!! esp w that shot where you were writing your "ideas" on the whiteboard, i felt so happy for you :') honestly i look forward to every video you put out, and like you said towards the end, your vlogs aren't the conventional ones that we all know and love, but you taking your own spin on it and making it uniquely lifeofriza is what makes it so alluring and wonderful and satisfying to watch! it's a whole other experience that you provide for us that normal vlogs just can't satisfy; it's like short films on relatable topics for the audience (me, entering my twenties) and i really appreciate it
I can’t believe it’s almost been a year, thank you for always inspiring me or leaving me with a a great feeling after watching your videos! 😌
this just inspired me to go and not take things too seriously, because i always take things soooo seriously

“A great painter is the one who knows when to stop painting the painting” ❤
Love your videos btw
Also, can’t believe it’s not even your one year anniversary! So happy you got such a lovely community in ten months!
This one reminded me of the art of documentation and why I fell in love with it in the first place. Over the past year, a few instances (and people) made me want to stay away from it, but when you said “if you're not having fun, you're taking it too seriously” that really resonated with me.
i love how you make your videos feel like a movie yet so attainable it feels like a home movie and I love them so much
I love the "practice on smaller canvases" line. Coming from a feature film background to now vlogging everyday I find my life, ideology and work and approach being liberated. Great video! Thank you :)

feeling stuck on my next vid.. coming here to get a spark - and I think the line "lean into what you like" is such a good reminder.
Thank you, I've been trying to start a channel for over a year now, but I've been so caught up on the details that I haven't even started. You've reminded me to stop being so serious and to enjoy the process.

riza's videos can be described by just one word: Elegant.

This is SUCH solid advice. I’ve just started a vlog and I’ve caught myself overthinking sooooo many times, and by the time I finally finish a video I’m over it 😅 I’ll be taking on this advice, thanks for your absolute talent and authenticity 🥰😘♥️

🥹 ily!! 🤍
I love how this advice is not just for content creators, but for life in general. These are excellent lessons. Thanks Riza! ❤
As someone who started vlogging a few month ago that was really helpful !! it's definitely not easy but I love it
Done is 100% better than perfect.

Thank you! 😊
Your style of vlogs are my favorite. Like I love someone who just picks up the camera but your stories capture me.
I ended up having to remove all my content a couple months ago and I was devastated. I’ve spent a few weeks working on a personal film and now I’m almost ready to start again. You’re so right finding out what doesn’t work is progress. Love your videos 😊
“Done is better than perfect”
As a perfectionist, this is something I needed to hear!
I gotta get on with finishing a video series that’s been past due for a few months now so that I can move on to more/newer projects that I’ve been wanting to do.
Gonna try to finish it as soon as I can. Thanks for making this video!
The advice is general and the first one connected with me a lot. Thank you a lot!
Woah!! The cinematography in this video nothing short of a high production movie almost. So brilliant👌.
i found your channel when you had less than 100k subscribers and i found out today that you're over half a million. that's actually insane--thank you for being such an inspiration!
Hey Kariza 👋,
I remember when I started subscribing to your channel, you happened to be at the early stages of you cinematically vlogging your life. (I think your most recent vlog at that time was “why hobbies are important”.)
Just like you (and so many others), I also grew up casting aside certain things that have made me unique for the sake of successfully fitting in with my peers, only for me to realize that would be the very reason I felt like I had no idea who I was and what I wanted to do with my life.
Ritchie
P.S. Here are my thumbs up to you just in case you’re thinking about making a second channel (4:06). 👍👍 You’re welcome! 😉
Knowing ur channel is a gift, thank u Riza 🤍
It the first few minutes, I have learned a lot and rekindled my creative side on creating my videos. I clung too long to videos I wanted to perfect that I stopped creating, I stopped writing and drawing, This hits directly. Thank you for sharing and helping me realize something that I lost on my way to perfection.
lean into what u like! YESS, and it's okay to be different you're uniqueee on your own way
Whenever I watch your UA-cam videos I feel like I’m watching a movie! The quality of your videos is incredible and so cinematic!
