@@mammid9622I went with XP12 since it was on sale myself. So I’m keeping MS24 to stream it to fly multiplayer or casually. That way I don’t have to install it. And he’s xplane as my main / serious sim with vatsim and navigrapfh and study level planes. Some ATC and traffic addons like say intentions ect.
Thanks for all the effort you put into this video. I'm going to have to get the FF 777. It's just like flying the real thing, and I did fly a real 777 for 11 years (plus a lot of other types during my most enjoyable Air Force and Airline career). What makes it realistic is not just hand flying the sim (which is, unfortunately, only a small part of "flying" a modern airliner). It's being able to program the FMC like you would in the real plane, and have the auto flight system fly what you programmed. Those details is what makes a good sim.
I’m so glad you’re back! Your sweet voice and the way you narrate information bring nothing but positive energy. You truly bring out the best in all the X-Plane addons, and you make me love this amazing flight simulation hobby even more.
Also with the 777's autostart system you can turn the fuel switch on immediately after putting the starter on "start". You dont need to eait for a specific N1 value.
The ECL system is a bit rough and makes every failure scenario unrealistic and even difficult to execute, for example when you have engine failure after V1, FF777 jumps out 3 different ECL and you have to choose from the list that doesn't even align EICAS order. some checklist not automatically inhibit other related checklist, and fire checklists not latch so once you put out the fire by mem item you'll need to navigate the full menu to try to find that checklist to use. While PMDG (for P3D as I use) don't have as many failures as FF, it execute them almost exactly as it should.
Outstanding presentation of the flight factor 777 The PMDG is very good., while FF goes a step further by going above and beyond in modeling many aspects of the plane, like you mentioned, ground crew and crew interactions and voices. Maybe Flight Factor will decide to port it over to MSFS. That would be nice. The next big thing coming for x plane is the 737 max by Airfoil. Maybe someday they’ll write for MSFS too
I enjoy both sims but feel XPlane is more of an open playground than MSFS. Developers seem to be achieving more with the Xplane platform and the "feel" of the planes when flying in it is something MSFS still can't touch. The PMDG 777 feels synthetic, is the best way I can describe it, whereas the FF 777 has heft and inertia to it. With the FF 777, you can even feel the slight delay when giving hard aileron movements as the wings flex before inducing a rotational force. Planes just feel more alive in XPlane.
@@robbyyant6213 Because Laminar gives more source and access to the devs than Asobo does to anybody. Devs on Microsoft flight simulator often struggle to make features because of the base code that they can’t access. Xplane is more open source and much easier to code in.
I was honestly hoping that after all the years the A350 would have seen love. I'd enjoy this aircraft but compared to what the new price expectations in the sim world $89 is a bit of a push
The cockpits tend to be a bit overly dark in X-Plane because the shadows are a bit HDR-like overexxagerated. This problem also happens in many racing games, and also the Fenix Airbus had the same problem (interior looking like 10pm in a full moon night as soon as cloudy weather, rain etc. was selected in the weather menu). That´s why many developers add artificial hidden flood lights into the cockpit and cabin to make the cabin and cockpit naturally illuminated looking like it would on a cloudy day. Fenix did the same a few months ago, adding a hidden artificial floodlight into the cockpit to prevent it from getting dark like it was a total eclipse whenever a few HDR-clouds appear in the sky. That is not a VRAM problem but too much HDR too dark saturated shadows to bright bloom effect for brighter areas - many computer games and simulators use these visual effects for a more stylish and higher contrast overall look and feel. :)
That cockpit and the whole airplane inside and outside looks so gorgeous so next-level - Flight Factor and X-Crafts is clearly the best of the best among all currently available airliners. And finally a completely factory-fresh new cockpit without scratches and dirt everywhere but everything is nice and shiny and cozy and clean. And brandnew looking! Lovely! But not only the visuals are absolute beyond perfection, also the simulation working in the background is perfection, like a Swiss clockwork of codelines. The combination of perfect visuals and superior simulation elevate this ultimative masterpiece above everything else and almost on HotStart Challenger level. The absolute best 777 out there, every true fan must have it, absolute top-tier. The fact that all maintenance latches can be opened to have for example a glimpse at the APU makes it even better. The first Boeing 777 with a rating of 11 out of 10 :)
I'm amazed at the maintenance aspect of Flight Factor's 777. I've noticed, after a few very hard touchdowns, a few of the tires were shredded. You can even feel the difference when taxiing and on the runway after repairing them.,
@@robbyyant6213 Are inactive damaged or overstressed systems visible on the airplane, like glowing hot brake disks, burst tires, or the rudder freely weather-vaning while parking at the terminal during a windy day and having no hydraulics pressure?
@@juliashenandoah3965 I haven't noticed if the brakes will glow but I know I've caused them to smoke. I do believe you can actually cause a fire with them. The tires will look flat and deformed if you burst them. Also, I haven't noticed if the rudder will weather-vane but I know the wings and engines will flex and bounce with control inputs as well as turbulence. The systems depth is pretty amazing. Things that fail can have knock-on effects. For instance, when I shredded the tires from a hard landing, I also damaged the brake valve on one wheel-set. This also caused the anti-skid system to fail and trigger warnings and odd hydraulic system behaviors.
@@robbyyant6213 This is so beyond epic! A plane with systems that actually can get damaged by overstressing them is THE BEST because that makes taking care of that plane necessary. And also always having a very close look at all systems, hydraulics temperature, carefully watching ITT while starting (also at the APU ITT settings!), brake temperatures and more. This plane is purest finest perfection, I am sure braking problems with failed anti-skid systems are simulated too when landing on a muddy or snowy runway. :)
In my honest opninion, oh YES FFB777 is way more better then PMDG 777. The FF one just feels more realistic, due to the procces, sounds, the flight dynamics etc.
@@Q8Pilot Ok. No stress. I'm not an X-Plane or MSFS fanboy, but I've never seen you praise the evolution of the flight model in MSFS 2020. And there was.
Thansk, do you know if there is a way to have the EFB set to metrical system? Furthermore, I have the TCA Thrustmaster for Airbus and when going over the reverse detent it goes TOGA 🥲
Thank you for your support. I appreciate it. I have had the same question regarding metric system. I think it is planned. As for your throttle you need to create a new profile and reconfigure the joystick for Boeing.
Please continue the XPlane videos. This wonderful sim needs more appreciation.
Absolutely agree
+1 here. After 2 years with FS2020 and lots of issues I returned to XP 12 at the beginning of this year

So great to have you back Q8, always enjoy your videos!
Very happy to see Q8 come back! Then I will return back to X-PLANE and MSFS. I like to play follow Q8.
Happy hear from you again, Q8. Wish you all the best and really really cool to see another vid from you. Take care, my friend!

Thx again, for this excellent Xplane video !!!
The efb takeoff/landing calculator is actually very accurate, I'd recommend using that.
Welcome back! Hope all is well!
I think both are excellent, I have the Xbox X, so points for PMDG.
Do the PFD, MFD, and FMC pop out? That's a feature i like about x-plane models.
X-plane 12 is gorgeous and you dont need a NASA setup..🖖
Try winter ops, there is actually snow accumulation and deicing

Perfect for a passenger simmer
are you using the v2.0.29-Beta for the 777v2?
Using the latest beta.
How you get SAM3 plugin?
How come your cockpit is so bright and I’m still struggling with dark cockpit? I’m on latest official release.
