    Nicely done, Thomas, once again my Norwegian Friend. I like your method of using barometric pressure to calculate point of impact.

      Thanks Jim. Yeah, it’s good to have some basic understanding of what does what to the bullet, makes life easier when shooting longrange.

      Thanks, this is just shorter versions of episode 362. I am hoping to have episode 363 out in not too long.

    Hi Thomas, nice Vid at all, but can u xplain the formula for correct the bdc settings? i did not understand exactly what u do and why: 1022-(98:9)

      Longrange Shooting 2 has a 40 minute segment about how to setup, calculate significant deviations and use a BDC under any conditions. You'll find the same info spread out over the 2 last seasons online shooting school.

    Thank you. How do you correct for altitude (I allways used a kestrel...)?

    • @THLR
      @THLR  Рік тому +1

      Forecast airpressure minus (your elavation in meters : 8,6 or 9 if you don't have a calculator) equals airpressure corrected for altitude.

    Hi Thomas, what type of ammunition do you use for hunting? I understand that Lapua in the last video is only used for training.

    • @THLR
      @THLR  Рік тому

      Depends. For everything bird I use Lapua FMJ's or even 6,5mm Scenar. Lapua cases where possible, Vit N560 powder for my 6,5mm and bullet is usually Hornady 123gr Amax or Barnes 120gr TTSX. Together with the 120gr Scenar this gives me very similar ballistics and a high "transfer-value" of training.

      Thanks for your professional answer, and what ammunition did you use when hunting chamois in Austria?

    • @THLR
      @THLR  Рік тому +1

      @@marcinn9043 Hornady 123gr Amax at V0 850'ish msec. Sierra Gameking and Nosler Ballistic Tip/Accubond in the 120-130gr range seems to do exactly the same (140gr if you want a heavier bullet and more recoil). As long as V0 is kept
