Always love these videos, allows you to hear the other colors that are often deafened by the brass reverb from the stadiums. Would you mind sharing how you synced the two different videos into time together? I find it quite impressive and I'm sure took a while to accomplish! As with all your videos, thank you for giving us such high quality audio and video of these corps! You are doing the online community a huge favor!
Ben Cowan Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the caption head or tech clicking with sticks is on a met, so there doesn't really need to be any hardcore syncing. I might be wrong, though.
Nathan Weisser Only the battery had a caption head clicking sticks, and even then, it's practically impossible to keep a 100% perfect rhythm. Even if something is a quarter of a bpm off tempo, it will exacerbate as it goes on. Ben Cowen Thanks! Each of these videos takes 5+ hours to edit, it's a lot of trail and error. Basically, I put an edit point at each musical note I want to line up, such as a rim shot and a concert bass hit. Those edit points might not be in time with each other, so I use slow/fast motion on one of the videos to make the edit points line up. It usually stays between 98% to 102% normal speed. There are some times when I don't need to make edit points since the music is already aligned, but often times I need several. I feel like after watching these videos, this show is one a great corps show, but i feel like if pulse or rhythm x played an arrangement of this show as a winter show, it would easily get gold. But that's just my opinion.
I cannot express how much I admire the Bluecoats. It's my goal to wear the uniform someday.... Love this show.
