Let's see how many times I replay this now
it's so impressive how consistent their tempo is, especially between two separate videos
+seth dugas I would assume he has slowed down/sped up certain segments to retain a constant tempo
+Alex Clark the drumline uses the drumset player with a constant met in his ears, so their tempo is consistent. I don't know if I can say the same about the frontline.
Well I know the corps had to play a consistent 192 in the opener or else everything would fall apart. It's likely that way here too, with the exception of the drumset
And it's 3 videos as well
Peyton H typically we have a tech click for us or something to that effect. But also besides basses front has to be the best tempo keepers and the best adapters in the band since we cant watch the majors
That is one ballsy book. Great execution.
This is such a great example of great writing/communication between the front ensemble and battery. All the minute hits and little vamps going on get me so excited 😄
Yup. The reason it's so good is that unlike most other corps, one man (Tom Rarick) does all the writing for both, instead of one battery writer and one pit writer. SO, when he writes, he's constantly writing with both groups in mind
Their tempo consistency is absolutely amazing! Even with two separated video. Wow
Reuel is fucking ripped
The bass line that year was incredible
Fantastic percussion! Won't be long until they finally win!
+uasuka As a corps, nope. As a drumline, yup.
+Ryan McDaniel Percussion have not yet won either.
+Zach Harston They got a 99 the year this video was recorded.
But they didn't win. Blue Devils won percussion in 2015.
+josh 42732 Wow. Just looked at the recap. Had no idea
That little flight of the bumble bee mallet riff has been stuck in my head for a week
Joe Stanton where at?
Love the double drumset action
How they didn't win percussion is beyond me
i was told that their hornline was weak compared to the drumline in 2015
WarCry Gaming that doesn't affect perc score though
I agree completely. I know they were my top. To hell with the judges
I don’t know inside details, but the show always sounded solid.
Steven Mose
Tf does that have to do with anything? 😂
Pit: *strikes cool pose at end of closer*
Drumline: "ye dude no big deal just played through the set whatevs"
I love them! Got to see them this year! Great video
absolutely amazing drumline and a great video
Astounding as always.
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS
Some say in the lot you can still hear the echo of normally wear his curly hair long
Can't wait for bluecoats indoor percussion lol
This is cool. I'd love to see more videos like this :)
Digging it!
sweet edit
I don't understand how you can dislike this video
such a dope book
YES!!!!!!
1:51 you can hear Reuel's vocals
"I like banana, give me chocolate please, rue nah ni nah, hey look dinosaur butt"
Will you be at the masters of summer games at Vanberbilt this year?
Normally wears his curly hair long
OH GOD YES
What kind of Microphones do you use for all of your recordings? (Like Make and model)
Which video did you get the front ensemble for the first third of this hybrid?
The clip at the end of a hybrid between the drumline and hornline of 2014 does not exist. Y?
How haven't they gotten first yet?!?!?!?!
Exactly what I was thinking
Omg
2:28 - 2:38 🔥🔥🔥
4:20
0:50 "3, 4, Jim is a god!"
I never understood what the vocals are can someone please translate them or something?
Relativity of inertial frames is similar to listening backfield for a tempo depending on where the frame of reference is.
chops
DCI really needs to drop its fetish for one billion cymbal crescendos per show
