    I've just bought the RHD version in the UK. I was lucky to pick up a demonstrator the dealer had order in (12 months before!) because the wait list was basically last time buy from the factory with waits to April 2024. No deals; they can sell all they make - and seem to be flushing their manufacturing line in the RHD market.
    It's a brilliant car, and the PHEV side is good - especially as it has the torque convertor gearbox, Absolutely smooth as silk to drive. Economy is brilliant - even when you factor in the cost of electricity as well. Here in the UK, petrol has been going up and electricity goes down again in October... so charging as often as possible is the best. Petrol miles are about 15p/mile, and electric is now about 11p/mile. Driving as a straight hybrid (ie big battery but not plugging in) gives me 43mpg (your gallons are only 80% the size of ours - hence the number difference)
    Trunk storage here is different - we have 2 more seats under the cargo floor, where you have storage.

      That's great! They are bringing the 3 row to the U.S. with the new design for 2024. We did love it! Best suv we have driven!

    Got one. Love it. Best mpg per tank 35mpg up to 261mpg per tank. Average 60-70mpg

    I bought this PHEV in the same Limited trim and silver color about a month ago. Loving it so far! Thanks for the review and mpg test. Our normal daily driving usually falls within 30 mile EV range so that’s yielded great efficiency. However, we did take it on one 500+ mile highway road trip across Washington State (includes mountain pass) and I was a bit disappointed in actual hwy mpg (about 27) and range. We’ll see if it gets better as we learn to drive it.

      Since we had our tester, I have noticed a lot more of them on the road. Excellent suv!

      @@offtheshelfrides Thank you. Do you recommend the PHEV for offroad?

    • @offtheshelfrides
      @offtheshelfrides  Рік тому

      @Bitoypalaboy PHEV would be fine to go off-road. The engine will engage when needed. Sport and Off-road mode, I believe, keeps the engine engage all the time.

    This was supposed to review the Santa Fe PHEV. The car you show throughout the video may be a hybrid, but it’s not a PHEV because there’s no charging port shown on the outside. So it’s hard to tell whether all the performance you describe also applies to the PHEV.
    Also, what did you not like about the vehicle? Only saying good things about it takes away from your objectivity.

    • @offtheshelfrides
      @offtheshelfrides  2 місяці тому

      Yes, it is the PHEV. There is an Electric Only Range Test on the channel also, and a Real World MPG Test.
      I was thoroughly impressed by this Sante fe. We, my wife and I, both did not find anything we didn't like.
      If I find something I Don't like or find annoying, I do say so.
      We only have these for a week, so we don't always find problems or issues that we might find after a month or year of driving it everyday.

      Also, when looking at the inside, the Infotainment says on it PHEV.

      Not in the UK, right hand drive. Deliveries are from ‘last production in the line’ and the wait is months.
      I took the opportunity to buy one that the dealer had ordered a year earlier as a demonstrator. I was lucky and bought it 2 days after it arrived with him…..

    When you were in the tailgate area you forgot to mention that the regular car battery is back there and that storage area has a removable divider to give you a huge underfloor storage area. We have a 2022 phev and we love it!

      That's great! I didn't know the battery was back there. I need to check the cargo areas better. I usually check it on EVs, didn't really think to check gas vehicles

      It is small compared to an EV, but it is large for a PHEV.

    No heat pump on a phev. Pass, next.

    • @offtheshelfrides
      @offtheshelfrides  4 місяці тому

      There are a lot of EV's that don't have heat pumps, so it wouldn't surprise me to not have a heat pump on a PHEV, they still have an engine to provide heat.

    • @e.s.5271
      @e.s.5271 4 місяці тому

      @offtheshelfrides which defeats the whole purpose. There are a lot of EV's? EV's dont have an ICE, and every single EV has a heatpump. You probably meant PHEVs. There are a lot of (majority) of PHEVs have heat pumps for the past 10 years.

    • @offtheshelfrides

      No, A lot of EV's do not have heat pumps.

      @offtheshelfrides which one of them? Can you please count a japanese, german, or american brand? I'd like to learn. They either have heat pumps or heat generators, which is dinosaur level. The worst is ysing ICE engine to produce heat or run the AC on a PHEV, which is the case here. I'd still like to.know EV's(not PHEVs)without a heat pump or a heat generator.:)🤦‍♂️

    • @offtheshelfrides

      Just off hand, the Vw id.4 (u.s) doesn't have a heat pump, same with the Audi Q4 etron, Ford mustang Mach-e and Lightning both did not have heat pumps.
      They all use resistive heating, not Heat Pumps. There are more, Nissan Leaf I believe, Chevy Bolt, etc. 90% of ev's in Europe do have heat pumps, but less than 75% in the U.S. had them. AUDI just stated last year they were no longer putting heat pumps in their Q4 E-Tron. Manufacturers are just now seeing the impact on real World range and are starting in include them as of 2024. But before that, most did not. In the U.S there are far more EV's driving around without heat pumps than with.
