Just a correction to help you out a bit.
Magical healing and ANY stats on weapons or shields only affect using shrines while wielding them because when you pull out your potion, your weapon is sheathed and you lose stats from it.
This is extremely important for bards because it affects the stats they prioritize on their instruments. It also affects the sell value of them on the marketplace. Knowledge, Dexterity, and mem capacity on instruments is pretty good.
It's also the reason why you move slower with your weapon out. The move speed reduction goes away when sheathing.
brilliant. appreciate this and pinning it for the benefit of others, thanks!!
@YourBoyBlinn no new video ? What u been trying for multiclass ?
@YourBoyBlinn having a basekit fighter tourney on the lorrs discord Friday. I dunno if u r interested but giving away echo of screams as a prize
@@BornToKill780 oh snap, stoked to try if I can make it!
Love your vids! Pleasant, unique and cool playstyle, polished editing; quality stuff!
appreciate that very much :)
I really want to see rogue in your execution, with your brawl awareness I feel you can kite really well, and just put persistent pressure on your targets removing their HP piece by piece
trouble is, rogues cant us a shield, and that's really where my interest is for now :)
Exceptional as usual, great video.
hey thanks so much!!
counter attack should just be a default function of blocking
agreed! there are lots of ways the devs could improve melee and add more skill ceiling
you narrating your auction house is huge bob ross vibes! lol
YES! wow didn't realize I was channeling that legend, and those are some pretty big shoes, but I definitely accept the complement. Love watching that guy's content haha
1 Tip: try to learn the equivalencies between for example STR/Vigor/added health/max health %. For example you picked 1 Vigor which gives you 0.75 HP when you had the option to get another item with 1.25%. Same when you think about gaining Action Speed and look immediately for DEX and forget about looking for items with Action Speed. Great content BTW!
this is super helpful -- thanks as I still have so much to learn about gear optimization.. I'm only just starting to scratch the surface of build tech!
1 str = 0.5hp + 1pp
1 vig = 1.5hp
1 dex = 0.75as
1 agi = 0.25 as + 1 ms
5 ar ~ 1% pdr
5 mr ~ 1% mdr
1 add phys damage ~ 3% of 33wd weapon ~ 3pp
------------
- gear is balanced around value cost: 5ar/mr ~ 1 ms ~ 1 stat(flat health/attribute/1pp/etc)
- some gear has better total sum of basic stats
----------
P.S. thats just quick message, with simple math for better understanding. It is not that simple in game, but not so difficult too. There is full information about stats on DaD Wiki❤
@@absowhite2467 holy crow, this is some useful stuff :) thanks for the tutelage, friend!!
@@absowhite2467 according to the dark and darker wiki it says 25% of str to health not 50% and 75% of vig to health not 150%. Just a heads up!
the additional clarity here is greatly appreciated!
I do have to admit, I’d love to see you get in a solid team with others like you that take the time to master their class and play styles. It’s be awesome to see a barbarian with you and a ranger or even a cleric and ranger. You would be the wall in front holding the line and your cleric would buff and heal you while the ranger tapped the enemy team with some heavy crossbow or longbow shots. Even in a duos situation I could imagine you and a ranger doing extremely well together as long as the ranger was able to hit their shots. You two could take advantage of the darkness and traps to slay enemy teams
yes, I too dream of one day going deep with a team, winning strategy-laced PvP, killing the frost Wyvern (or whatever it turns out to be)... seems like you think ranger would be the strongest complement to the shield-focused fighter? thanks for the recos!!
Legendary content as always. You're the best Blinn!
thank you so much!! appreciate all your comments on my vids buddy!
Enjoyed the video tnx cant wait for more
appreciate you -- more coming soon enough :)
I dont eve play or like dark and darker but you my friend are entertaining and a joy to watch. Keep up the great worj
hey that's super nice of you to say! makes me feel good & is really encouraging.. thanks so much!
Not 1st!! But def not last! Good job buddy. You have to show our time in frost dung together. That was a blast.
duos with you was huge fun!! can't wait to do it again and get some more footage -- and try some wacky strategies. maybe soon IM will allow duos in all maps? see you around buddy!
This is EXACTLY the video I was hoping Your Boy Blinn would make! Such a good video!! Tips on ratting, tips on shield, skillful game-play with play-by-plays. Is turning off torches that light up a doorway is a bad idea? It seems almost as suspicious as turning off all the torches. People always have their guard up when coming through a doorway because it is the classic spot for rogues to ambush at. Would it be better to leave the door-torches on and hide somewhere else in the room to get people to let their guard down?
yes, totally agree about keeping lights on by doorways, just can't/don't always execute that well :) thanks for the video feedback & encouragement!!
Man you really should be making more videos like this imo, with that darkness addiction and whispering investigation process during games, batman type of shit for real. If i see something like that in instagram/tiktok, i would definitely check out the youtube channel. With all that bullshit meta and stat calculating in dnd, you are fresh air to breathe
really appreciate this! can't wait to get back to more content after I get done with this chunk of work - thanks for the encouragement & good luck out there!!
Been enjoying all your videos. Changed how I thought about and played the game. Would love to see more team fight strategies. Since you specialize in shields I was interested if you could get the pavise to work in any kind of way. Like blocking doorways and such.
team fights, yes. pavise work? haha might be a stretch.. since it has very limited offensive potential, and I do enjoy actually damaging people >:P
@@YourBoyBlinn well I tried with shield slam and another person. Usually using a bow or long range weapon. Has to be at least 2 people
roger that!
Been practicing on test servers running a smite shield slam build running around naked with only a buckler and some fun perks its hilarious when you get a kill
Smite Slam sounds absolutely hilarious!! Can't wait to dig into all the multiclassing chaos
Such a unique playstyle. Enjoyed every minute of it
Just an FYI for ya u can buy green and blue campfires for like 10gold more then a grey and it's alot faster and heals more
thanks much!!
ahhh better get my woodsman quests done then, hunh?!
@YourBoyBlinn no from the trade u can usually grab a blue campfire for 30-35 gold. No need for quests. Not sure if u also know u can get common rarity and purple surgical kits as well. They're pretty expensive but they are available. Purple surgical kits r incredibly fast and worth the money in a high action situation and common is great for normals.
@YourBoyBlinn I actually just looked blue campfires r at about 35-40 gold and greens r actually cheaper then Grey's right now u can buy then for 20-25 gold so def worth it to buy at least a green
gg blinn! it was an honor meeting you in the goblin caves, thanks for the duel :)
gg HammTheFighter, the honor was mine!!
Blinn, youre popping off man. Heard someone mention you on Fireboxes stream! Curious what you've been thinking for multiclassing to make this build better! Feel like its pretty full on perks so the only thing you could really get rid of is second wind.
Personally love the blocking playstyle but it sucks that you need to rely on stealth to force people into melee for the good fight.
hey hey thanks for the comment! I've been half-offline for a bit (after a giant content push in March/April) -- what was the mention on Firebox's stream? im curious :) hopefully something nice.
can't wait to get back to focusing on the channel after this next bit of work. I've been levelling a cleric and a rogue for multi-classing, and will def have some thoughts on the whole system once the devs settle a few things over the next patch or two.
blocking rules!! good luck out there & keep in touch buddy
@@YourBoyBlinn Just some viewers talking about your builds with high dex and wanting firebox to try them out! He mentioned he'd eventually check it out!
Excited for your multiclassing adventures!
37:30 is a really good hilt block. its like the hitbox is the wrist
yeah I was kindof surprised by it tbh!
omg 43 minutes of pure blinn
yeah, maybe should have put up a view's discretion advisory haha
What rank of high roller is this gameplay in? I've heard from many players that HR is fine until you try to get beyond pathfinder.
Edit:
Just got to the part with the rank at the end of your first run. Decent for pathfinder. Can this get us to demigod?
yeah, I've only ever gotten to Pathfinder I, and never really desired to push into Exemplar in particular.. AP at that level just nukes too many great parts of the game experience for me, and I really don't care too much about the 'rewards' in exchange for the time grind. would rather make PvP content!
My best kit I've ever had on fighter is the one I'm currently using until I die. The main stats it has is 30 dex, 30 str, and 20 agi, only base 15 vig, kno, will, and 18 resourcefulness.
30 dex & str is nice! you must like how fast you swing & hard you hit!! good luck with the kit
An advanced technique, when the enemy's weapon is about to attack your shield, pressing the attack button can ignore the impact of the opponent's weapon on your shield
I’m pretty sure potions benefit from physical healing but second wind benefits from magic healing
Potions benefit from magic healing. Second wind heals a % of your max health over time, only way to increase its healing is with buff duration
They won't benefit from those stats on weapon slot items because you can't hold those while drinking a potion or using a bandage...
yes, this is/was very helpful for me to learn -- so many smart folks in the DaD community!!
@@QuackGCorrect on the potions! Warlocks (or anyone really) with super high magical healing can heal up to 30+ from one potion, it's kinda nuts! However there is no way to increase Second Wind healing. Buff duration only causes it to heal the same (40%) over a longer period of time
fantastic comment, thanks!!
Are you gonna do any multiclass shield stuff?
totally will! just currently sidetracked by work stuff.. can't wait to get back to it
I feel like you're gonna be abusing hide on fighter alot. Plus iron will.
@@xidears4156 honestly, Hide is not on my radar since I can hide 'for free' in the dark.. no need to take up a skill slot! can't wait til I have more time for multiclassing content - work gets in the way sometimes!
@YourBoyBlinn Then perhaps Rage or Savage Roar to really jump scare them when they do find you. Or, do you have some ideas of what you want to try already?
Can u please increase your voice volume in your vids a smidge. My phone has a low max volume
will do!
thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it, since I can't replicate other ppl's audio setup that well :)
Tattered cloaks can go for like 60-70g nowadays too
holy crap that's cheap!!
@@YourBoyBlinn for real!!
your blocking is good but man the way you play is all wrong. turning off lights mid fight? why
what can I say, I am comforted by the darkness.. feels like I've got a lot of experience fighting in that condition, but it makes my opponents uncomfortable, since most people don't like to play in the dark :)
@@YourBoyBlinn well as long as youre having fun thats all that matters
quite right!! happy weekend to you!!
*get hit* BLOCKED IT 😂
half-blocks still count as blocks, in my opinion!! haha at least they're good for resetting attack combos :)
600 gold is not what I would call budget. i spend like less than 100g on my kits. It's all spent on med's.
I mein i get the point but at some point its not even budget anymore. Most of the time i just buy a blue rapier as a bard but already spend at least 150 to 200 g with heals. 600 Gold is really nothing. Most ppl dont realize that their low gear might actually cost 90 to 100 per item
yeah I'm no stranger to common kits, but thought at least a ~600g build was more accessible than a 3Kg kit. since I'm still fairly new, I would have a ton of gear fear going in with a 3Kg+ equipment set
yes totally. just wanted to share some options for an approach to kit, and show what kinds of stats fighters can get spending less than 1000g :)
@@Fuzzey-Gaming I feel like the both of you are secret chads. I play for two weeks and don't even have the market unlocked on one character yet.
@@JohnHandle- i mean i got my 2000 hours😅 but sure 600 gold is not affordable for everybody. But i just had a 60 gold run as bard with just a blue rapier and starter crossi and i killed 5 ppl in one game haha. Gear can be important but the more you play the more you User the map and class counters to your andvantage. Had 150 HP after that game btw xD i wiah u good luck in the dungeon and if u wanna queue up for some Duos let me know :D
