The figure 4 Deadfall is probably the most widely known and recognized primitive trap. It is fairly simple to make once you are familiar with it. There are numerous ways to set up a figure 4 deadfall. The method of carving the figure 4 in this video is the way I have come to carve my sets based on trial and error. Primitive traps are almost always illegal to use outside of a true survival scenario however, it is good practice using your bushcraft knife and knowing how to make primitive traps is good knowledge to possess just in case. The figure 4 trap trigger is a very versatile trigger and can be used in many ways other than supporting a deadfall. Simple trap triggers like the figure 4 are fun to make and tinker with and will help further your bushcraft skills and survival skills for food gathering. Also, it will give you experience utilizing natural resources to construct useful items in the field. Check out this video to see an couple of deadfall traps in action and learn how to make your own! Thank you so much for dropping in Lilly! I appreciate you leaving a comment as well. I will do an update video on the figure 4 before too long as I have made one other slight mod which I think makes larger diameter traps be more sensitive. I love tinkering with these traps. I know there are a hundred ways to do these which kind of makes it interesting to experiment with. Keep up the great work sharing your journey! Take care.

I have been watching you for the last sevearl years or so, Ive seen you pitch up hammocks, tarps, Ponchos and tents, ridge lines, guy lines, tie
bowlines, filter water to get the munchies out then boil up the water to kill the Bactria, discuss packs, make haversacks, talk about knives
and kukri 's and hatchets... All good and all fun to watch but the one thing I'd like to see is, how to find water in the "wilderness" that's
not in a lake, pond, river or creek ... How about doing that

I appreciate your long term support and views my friend! That means a lot to me. I did do a couple of videos that I think may sort of fit into that category. One of them was in regards to a rain catchment system and the other was demonstrating the use of a coyote well to get ground water. I will try to keep your idea in mind the next opportunity I have to show other options as well. Thank you again for all your support!

If you look down in the description of this video, you will see the Amazon link there. Anything you see in that list would be more than worth purchasing for the knowledge they contain.
