I really appreciate the warning in the title, I like to show my mum your videos but she has epilepsy, thanks for the warning. ❤️
Hope she was able to see the final product and some of the process (Besides the flashy parts.), really neat to see.
@@yeetman6955 B E G O N E T H O T
But seriously that's rude
@@yeetman6955 Ahhhh another caveman who calls a woman on the internet a Thot, so original, so much wow.
I like to show my myotonic goat these videos ❤ but I have to play them with the sound low and at .5 speed or he faints.
hi dude she is actually pretty beautiful.
Most people dont put a warning and I really appreciate that. I hate flashing light they give me a headace. Now I'll know that their are. Thanks!
There*
“It looks 3D”
*is literally 3D*
In person, yes. On the screen, no. I think dude meant it looked 3D through the monitor. I could be wrong, though. 💁 Either way, I like your sarcastic sense of humor. Cheers!
Im guessing he means it looks like it pops out
I think what he ment was that multi layer effect. Like when a picture looks 3D it has these blurry duplicates around it.
@@editazilinskyte3681 you mean chromatic aberration?
I know I laughed too immediately 🤣
You could probably use the slice you cut off the pencils as a coaster for your tea
Mr.GamerYT I was thinking exactly the same, I would love some coasters like that!
YESSS
lulu Gregory same lol (I overdose on my daily tea factor.I have 2 cupboards full of tea)
nice, I just cant help thinking it would make a cool light, if that center pencil on one side was drilled out and a led inserted down to the middle of the sphere.
A mini version would make a nice piece of jewellery!
Use just the pencil led.
Ooh! Good idea! I'm sure elementary school teachers, childcare workers, or even artists would love it.
Something ms frizzle would wear.
Jammin jarv what’s up

SO GLAD YOU GAVE WARNING FOR FLASHING LIGHTS!!! Thank you on behalf of everybody that has epilepsy or has eye issues triggered by flashing lights (I get migraines, if one starts, the flashing is like a flaming ice pick in my temple)
Once there was a drug raid at my friends neighbours house and we have a friend with epilepsy and holy crap I’ve never seen a group of people jump up so fast to cover the windows and get him sunglasses
Saaaaaaaaaame! Much appreciated!
the flashing lights easily could have just been omitted, especially with you showing it to us spinning oval under illumination more then the actual finished project.
If bobby duke and peter brown had a british child youll be it
Yes that is what I was thinking😂😂
Such a great niche joke
this is the comment i was looking for
HOLY COW I SEE IT
This is the first video I've seen on this channel and I had the exact same thought
don’t get me wrong, i absolutely love your videos! you’re amazingly talented but i started watching your videos to help me fall asleep and the noises work so well! i’ve gone from cartoons to movies to music to documentaries and now this... all to help me fall asleep so thank you
try listen frank howarth. Just to think about it I feel sleepy.
Try watching bob ross videos it helps me fall asleep
Nail career education works too, she's who i listen to when I'm falling asleep.
well hello sleepy Princess lol
Andrea Valenzuela try the calm app. The sleep stories are wonderful! (Not saying to stop watching these videos!)
I rarely get through a whole story, which is pretty amazing for me.
This looks amazing I love how clear you got it with no bubbles ..it’s definitely 3D ,never ceases to amaze me what you can make when I click on a video 😀
Flipping sweet dude! Love it
Bobby Duke Arts thanks buddy I appreciate that 🤗👍🏽
Could definitely see the bobby inspired elements in this video, love the sphere!
The 3b pencil sphere, noice! It can up trumps Nick!
You three guys are awesome artist.. I look forward all the time for a new video from u guys
Good job on the 3d Color pencil Sphere looks great...…………...and Hello Dukey….. :D
I love that cut off of the pencil ends... would make nice coasters
Robert Jones so true
Yes love those just as much!
Baby Pineapple 🍍
Exactly what I was thinking! 💕
But this is not that piece that you start to be this is another
I haven’t finished watching the video, but I wanted to thank you sooo much for the flashing images warning because it makes my eyes hurt so much, and people usually don’t give those warnings on UA-cam. It was really attentive of you!🤗
goof
its for epileptic people
@@mariavlachou4650 Believe it or not, there are multiple medical reasons to avoid flashing or strobing lights.
(Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to word it so it wouldn't sound sarcastic. I believed the exact same thing before I learned more about it in my nursing career.)
Yea, I appreciated that as well. Videos with flashing lights and stuff like that tend to give me migraines. Since I was expecting it I was able to quickly close my eyes once it started
@@bipolarbear9952 Your comment sounds all the more informative. Now that you mention it, one of such reasons a someone should stay away from flashing lights and/or images is if he or she may be or is an epileptic; and those two events can literally seizures.
Broke: The Earth is flat
*_WOKE: The Earth is a Pencil Sphere_*
A lot of flat earthers would argue with you. They still think we're living on a pencil coaster 😂
Anyone else notice the one colored pencil whose tip was broken?
At least 2 broken. Kind of annoying
yep
Yeah my ocd wanted them sharpened again.
The gŕey one lol
*stOp* 🛑 🛑 🛑 🛑 🛑
Beautiful work brother! Love it! That looks fantastic! Miss you guys. 😞 See you on the flip side! 🤘👊🤪
Heath Knuckles haha thanks dude 🤗👍🏽
Heath Knuckles the fact that you payed him a compliment holds a lot of weight 😂😂😂 ps. Your spheres are incredible
If you did this again you could do regular pencils on one side and colored pencils on the other. Or darks on one side and brights on the other.
The things you and the other makers come up with never cease to amaze me. It's a beautiful sphere and the imperfections are what makes it unique. Perfect is boring. Keep doing what you do, and I look forward to seeing more amazing works of art. ❤💙💚💛💜
When he puts on the gloves, does anyone else want the 'whoopa' sound as a text message alert...
Might be able to find it through Google or Zedge 😁
Don't know what you're talking about
Big Ben it sounds like Jacksepticeyes intro but slightly louder, a little different, and not Jacksepticeye saying “WA-PSH” along with it 😂
ya
@@nowonmetube You didn't hear the sound effect when he puts the black rubber gloves on? It's at 3:48
This guy looks like Bobby Duke and Peter Brown combined!!
Hah YES. First time I saw a Bobby Duke video, I thought he looked like Nick's little brother.
I get confused between Bobby Duke and this guy
I was thinking more Like Nick Frost with with a beard.
LMFAOOOOOO THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!
WOW that is gorgeous. You should make one with a light inside I like how the coloured pencil lead bled into the resin a little.
“You can see a 3D effect”
Well. Pencils aren’t flat 😂😂
And like its A SPHERE they arnt flat its a 3d shape
"Lets hope this hold moulds up" 😂 I think the end result was amazing, very pretty to look at x
Jessica Williams you do no x means kiss
Thank you so much for adding warnings to videos :D sometimes flashing images cause migraines but I was able to watch this one! I bet other people can also benefit from these warnings too.
The sound effects like the glove snaps, the music, the slightly chaotic editing cuts, all contribute to a thoroughly enjoyable albeit slightly wacky video. Thanks! 🤪
Sometimes I watch these videos cause I like the background noise of power tools and cool dude who sounds like Jake English when I draw, sometimes I watch them to help with my insomia, either way really sick stuff
End Me asmr?
Omg homestuck
Good god. Homestuck asmr. Kind of surprised I haven't seen it yet. What a shitshow.
dangerous soup but now that you mention homestuck the part where he's carving it down kind of reminds me of a totem lathe.
omg same, i fall asleep with his videos, but love what he makes.
Why don't you make a pencil baseball bat with those colored pencils and epoxy
This was a perfect choice for you for a sphere. Great job. I think it turned out great. Thanks again for an amazing weekend and and amazing event. Looking forward to next year. I have my video up and have been making a playlist with all of the videos from the different youtubers.
I love it! I am definitely a pencil fan. Your pencil table is my favorite of all time. This came out fantastic, Nick. Make pots out of the ends too. Great project. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The pencil art is beautiful. Never doubt yourself. If you say its art then it is Art. Perfect.
Y'all guys sure like your colored pencils...so do I. I ate my 5th pack of them today🎨
Why? Colored pencils don’t taste that good, pens taste better.
I think it's supposed to be Crayons and Play Dough.
You guys got it all wrong it's sharpies duh
@@Simone-ht3ds If you can Eat Sharpies... You have a Body Disorder called "Pica Syndrome." Go to the Hospital RIGHT AWAY with a Friend... And get them to Tape your Mouth and If you/they got a Pair... Handcuff your Wrists or Tape them together. Until you see a Doctor.
Update: And that is A LOT of Plastic! Do you eat the Fibre parts also? How do you open them??.
ArtzFemale what do you mean I just ate about 10 sharpies right now I feel great, yes we eat the plastic and fiber
I know I am late to the party, but
1. this is awesome
2. I liked t when there was the sphere in the middle with the two bases on either end. That would have made a super cool look.
3. Options for inclusions: use two round natural wood bases with bark on either end. Use raw wood pieces to make it look like spikes inside. Finally put spiky crystals inside. Keep them from the edges to make a stalactite or stalagmite look.
Oonagh72 I thought so too!! I thought it'd make a cool lamp ! I wanted it for my room haha
I really like this one Nick! There are quite a few spheres on UA-cam, but this one is especially your style... It came out great too! I think I could stare into that for hours...
Congrats on the success of Maker's Central! Hope there will be another one...
Surely rather than super-glueing all the pencils at different heights you could have just used pencils of various lenghts? Nice job though
lololoololoolololoolool
Could have. But it would have taken more adjustments (via cutting and fitting) on most (if not all) the pencils. Supergluing only the ones he wanted took less time/effort.
Такие крутые вещи можно сделать с использованием эпоксидной смолы)) Люблю подобное творчество)! Буду смотреть и дальше)
That turned out really well. Having done a few experiments with coloured pencils myself, I found it much easier to seal the leads before doing anything else. I just dipped both ends in some clear metal lacquer in the end, but superglue could work even better. Then the pigment won't seep out as you're working on it & there's less chance of things chipping. Low viscosity superglue will also seep into the lead itself & give it a bit more strength & stability.
Cool idea and a nice sphere. Thanks for the Makers Central, it was a great show. It was nice to meet you there 🙂👍
Andy.Du bist ja auch hier unterwegs. ;)
Makers Central was absolutely awesome. I made a bunch of new friends, can’t speak highly enough of you and your team for the tremendous effort you all put in to making it so good.
And that sphere is beautiful. Cheers Nick!👍🏻
Seconded. 😉
I'm addicted to see where the Yorkshire grit goes on it's adventures... lol..
Love every episode so far, full of inspiration and so amusing...
Big thumbs up Nick..
I'm seeing a lot of influences of Bobby Duke, and I'm loving it!
The way done of the pencil led colours bleed into the resin is pretty cool. Perhaps you could base a project on that effect!
It seems like it's only certain colors that did that too. Or at least some were more obvious. I'm guessing if you wanted to avoid that you could pre-seal the tips with something before they get submerged in resin?
Depending on the type of resin used, a thin coat of super glue would likely do the trick.
I agree, more project!!! I think the bleeding effect is quite awesome!! :-)
3D effect.. but it is 3D, you put real pencils inside it
Nick could you get a string of those copper wire fairy lights and embed them in a sphere with a wood section that has a plug that fits into hole in a base where the wires come out to connect to a battery set. That's the only way I could think to turn it and keep the wires safe. It would look like a sphere but you wouldn't see the wires that connect to the battery. It would only be found out if someone picked it up.
What are you going to do with the extra bits? That was alot of pencils and resin... You can use the scraps for sla stand or something
I think it looked great... Just retireing at 66 and really getting into resin and turning, Knuckles spheres are inspirational as this one.. spheres are where I want to go..alonf with lots of other projects.. probably left it a bit late in life but I intend to be around for many years yet so who knows, really enjoyed the video m8 and will have to look at more of your work.
This is oddly uplifting
I thought this vid looked pointless but then I realized its a sphere and they don't have a point unless you make it out of pencils
His voice does not match his face at all lol
yeah kinda
i was just thinking that
I totally agree 👍
His accent sounds like Ricky Gervais'.
Ever seen Ricky Gervais?
U should put resin in a glove and make a little holder for tools or smh
this is an awesome idea. haha im gona try this . Thanks Savannah
Um. Do you know what smh means? I think you meant "something" by smh but smh is an acronym for Shake My Head
ZebraCake Games that's what i was thinking.
ZebraCake Games if he liked the idea regardless why does it matter?
@@dolewhipgaming9930 first of all, the way you worded your sentence makes absolutely no sense to me, and secondly, I wasn't talking about how he liked the idea, i was informing her (the commentor) that she probably does not know what SMH means.
Very nice! When you started turning that piece on your lathe I saw that it would also make a very nice lamp base for maybe a child's room. You are so creative. I love watching your son's videos along with yours. Good job to the both of you.
a chip doesnt matter this looks magnificent
Who knew that watching a pencil project would give you seizures? My new excuse for not being able to do homework. 😂😂😂😂😂
Don’t trip sis I sell edges for 9.99 plus tax 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes the last part should of had a warning cut of the flashing
I hope the hold molded up.
Thats really beautiful! I think its a wonderful mix of styles, really lovely. I always love your videos.
♥
I hit "Like" and I haven't watched this video. That's the reason! I have a seizure disorder, and I am very grateful for your clear, upfront warning. that warning alone is enough to give an idea of the professionalism with which this production was made. Again, I thank you so very much!
The whip noise when you put on your gloves reminded me of Peter Griffin when he's driving with his feet and keeps saying "roadhouse" 😂😂
it has a 3-D effect........because it is 3-D, loloolol
ramiel555 lol 😂🤪
Yea i thought it was funny at first, but I could see what he meant. not like it looks like a realistic 3D rendering but that it seemed like it was 'popping out' of the background more like an 80's 3D movie
Can you explain what the pressure chamber does? Sorry if this has already been addressed. I'm guessing it prevents air bubbles maybe or does it speed up curing some how? Thanks!
Bubbles
Helps getting rid of the air trapped in the resin
No, it makes the bubbles compressed and tiny when/while the resin sets and also traps the gas with lots of force.
Vacuum is a much better idea. It doesn't create the same potential for cracking.
It forces all the air out of the resin. A bubble can make a week spot that can ruin a project
That just looks terrible,,,, send it to me so I can dispose of it properly ..... lol. That is super bad ass great job ... and thanks for sharing
????
Cool project. I have a nine year old grand daughter who has been after me to send her videos on how to make “stuff”. I’m sending her this one along with the feather bowl one. We will see if she likes it. No matter, her grandfather likes them a lot!
OMG he reminds me SO MUCH of Barry from my virgin kitchen..!
I think it turned out beautifully!
The British Bobby Duke Arts
Yaaaaas
I totally misheard "funk" it up.. had to rewind!! Always a pleasure watching your channel.. your talent gives me great ideas.. that never quite work out the way I intend.
hahaha thanks so much Joel
Lol
That turned out great! Especially like the magnifying lens effect!
Here's hoping Makers Central does go ahead again in 2019. It was such a fantastic event. Maybe even a bigger hall this time ? :)
Thank you for the warning of flashing images, i really appreciated it.
The fact that people can do this stuff without messing up is astonishing
That is the coolest thing I've ever seen😯👏👏👏
thanks so much
"Looks kind of 3Dish".
I'm not quite sure how to break this to you Nick, but it is in fact, 3D :)
X lol 😂🤗👍🏽
That looks great Nick! Aren’t spheres a ton of fun to make? I’ve become obsessed with turning them.
I think it came out awesome. And imperfections are what makes it even better
Sorry nick i fell asleep watching and gave a thumbs down but i spotted it and changed it to a thumbs up whopps, i think i shouldnt watch just before bed who knows what else i pressed in my sleep, hahahaha 😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆
R/thathappend
Fantastic project mate, came out great. Cheers, Jim
I would like to suggest doing a similar one with crayons... just take the paper off first and you should end with a really colorful one,
cool idea dude . i was thinking crayons would be cool, peter brown has done one of these and it did look awesome
Nick Zammeti NZ WoodTurning saw his crayon based vase... But have not seen a planet sphere made out of crayons
Nick, if I send you my dried acrylic fordite (layers and layers and layers of dried paint from my acrylic pour paintings) is it possible for you to do a turn on the laithe with it? You might have to put it in the pressure chamber...but I would love to see you smooth it out with resin in a mold or something and turn it into something cool... I'm not using it, and it is super colorful!
Nice work on the pencil planet, cant wait to see what crazy stuff you do next!
RetroPocky Stick that would be amazing ! 🤗🤗 please do and I’ll try my best to make something funky xx
Oh Nick, a sphere is brilliant!!! Gorgeous.
Wow, that's one of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen😍😍😍
THANK YOU for the flashing lights warning 😁
Erin Says Hello * seizure *
FOOK! FOOK! Seriously? Lol
Anyone call 911?
Me encanta, me encanta, quedo muy lindo !!!! LIKE
Sorry but I’m new to your video’s ~ can you please explain what that compression machine was doing to the pencils?
Lisa Jarvis it sucks the air bubbles hiden inside
Lisa Jarvis , "pressure" , it forces them out. Sorry Michal. :)
[Edit: but yes, it does get rid of the bubbles . Lol ]
[[ "70 PSI for 3 hours" on another vid is ONE way ]]
I thought it was low pressure, so the air moves from the high pressure in the resin to the low outside?
The vidzs I have seen, the guy removed the air from the resin before pouring, so solving the size problem.
@@michaszul6895 does it suck them out or compression push them out so that it does not go nuts like letex does when you use a vacuum chamber?
No wait. Not latex. Silicone
Those cheap flexible plastic cutting boards you can get at ikea, etc. work really well for the kind of mold you made. Awesome Project Nick!
There was so many moments I was telling STOP !!!! That could of been a little centerpiece for a candle after he rounded it off with the ends still on it... regardless it still looks awesome!!!
Great project and video Nick one of the best projects i would say. Hurry and tell us its on next year PLEASE lol
‘Dad were are of the colored pencils’
‘Check my work shop full of them’
something funny
im not even a minute in when hes talking i look at my recommended videos (cause im on mobile)
and its bobby duke arts video called 'but can you do this' and to me it looked like a retaliation xD
I really like how it looks like the color in the lead bled abit at the center of the sphere, it's really cool
Another great project and I want to thank you for making me smile. Love watching you, keep it up. Can't wait for the next project you make. :)
What effect does the pressure chamber have on the resin? Can this be completed without the pressure?
Yes but there would be bubbles
Are you using pressure or vacuum? When molding silicone, we normally use vacuum for degassing.
I am starting to get into wood turning and resin work, but I am curious...what does the pressure pot do? Does it prevent bubbles from forming in the resin?
Yeah it does because it is basically a vacuum chamber which pulls the bubbles to the top
He’s actually compressing the bubbles to minimize them, in lieu of degassing with vacuum.
Love the way he loves every comments
4.1k people disliked? Literally...what is there to not like about this video? Are there really pencil haters out there?! Dumb. I've watched this video so many times and I'm still amazed and inspired Nick! Keep up the great work and keep chasing the FUNKY.
Awesome. I love it. It's like a giant pencil marble .
Make a flower out of crayon and that part A and part B stuff
You mean resin?
Your accent. I love it. Definitly subscribing.
By the end it looked like Sauron was trying to contact you...
i love how goofy you are! You make this really fun to watch. Love it.
The process before you cut off the ends, makes me think of the 4 poster beds. Can you imagine what it would look like if the poles/banister ( not sure if that's correct term ) would look like if you made them like this? Me thinks it would be cool, groovy, simply awesome! Great stuff Nick. Love watching you make your stuff!
What is the song you used in the first part of the video?
atmospherica- squid
Thank you!
Orb and show came out awesomely, congratulations again 🏆👍🏼😊
How about another resin sphere but with a city inside kinda like a snow globe but not hollow I think that it would loo cool
I’ve had the sentence "hold moulds up" stuck in my brain constantly now, ever since I heard it. Hold moulds up... hold moulds up....
Hand turned sphere! Nick what an awesome job. Thanks
