Yay she really warmed up to you and enjoyed the scratches. Once you the tag off she drifted away, it almost seemed like she was pleased you finally got it off her and the mission was accomplished. So cute.
You have great body language that shows your mustangs you’re not a threat. I’ve worked with young horses that stayed with their moms for 6 months with no human interaction. It takes a lot of patience to gain trust. You’re doing a very good job. Very proud of you. God bless you.
I loved the way she kept stepping back towards you when you stepped away. She’s going to be a wonderful horse for someone and seems to have a calm spirit! I can’t wait to see the rest of her story
Yay❣ Glad you chose Raven - was my first thought when you asked ppl what you should name her in your last video. Congrats to getting to scratch her forehead and neck as well as getting her tag collar off so quickly😃!! She is really starting to trust you🥰 So precious!! Thank you for sharing your experiences with wild Mustangs - I love watching your videos - so relaxing and educational.
You have the “good human” vibe… Raven…and those before her KNOW you mean no harm. She’s going to blossom into a beauty. So excited to watch your journey with Raven ♥♥♥
Have you thought about building a smudge for her? We used to do this for our horses in Alberta Canada when the horse flies and deer flies were so bad even fly spray did not work. Just build a fire in a barrel and add straw, and green grass or green tree leaves. Our horses stood in front of it and got relief, they were not spooked at all and loved it. BTW, great progress on this little flame of a mare, she is a beauty!
I was tearing up when you were talking about the tags. Your disappointment in her having a paper tag, how you said she’s worth more than that 🥹. I felt the love, respect & empathy you have for her so intense in that moment 💕
J would be jumping up and down on the inside !! Ohh how special !! Seeing them trust you from being completely wild !! BUT they can tell who’s a good person !!! She’s going to be such a champ !!! ❤️🐴❤️
i think its cute to want to keep the tags and/or want a different one for each horse! To have a little something to look at in a few years and have memories attached to it ^^ Its a wonderful feeling ~ I always like to look at old drawings i made and for quite a few of them i can remember exactly what was going through my head or what i was listening to when i drew them
You don't need to apologize for quality all the time :) we as viewers know equestrian videos aren't always picture perfect. You are working outside, in a dusty environment, from a distance, with big animals. Considering all that, the quality of your videos is superb:) I really appreciate the voiceover to make each step you take more clear to us and to follow along in your observations of Raven's responses^___^
Yay! So exciting that you were able to get the chord/rope off! I read your comment about the bad/negative comments. I’m sure this is easier said than done, but try not to even read them. People can be so awful, and the ones that really are, just hide behind the keyboard and are miserable. Love what you are doing, and I’m learning a ton from you!!! Keep up the amazing work! ❤❤❤
Lovely. This is similar to how I relate to ‘shut down’ dogs that I’ve rehabilitated. To me it feels like working to become their friend, regardless of species, and then you can trust each other. That’s my aim. Don’t know if that makes much sense after reading it back lol Thank you for what you do 🙏
I thought it was funny after you pulled the string off she walked away nonchalantly like she knew the task was complete!?! Another great video - thanks so much again for all you do for us and those wonderful mustangs!!
What a special gift you have. Wow. I just found your channel and you brought me back 50 years to being that young girl who LOVES horses. I think some binge watching is in order. ❤
Getting my Master's in School Counseling we were assigned to video sessions with new students and review with classmates. It was very helpful. Perhaps you could do this with others and get their observations.
You are doing so well with Raven. I what a sweet and patient girl she is. She is going to make someone a wonderful forever horse. Awesome job and I always learn something from your videos. 🎉
I think you get another tag because you’ve earned it by taking her out of those awful holding pens and giving her a chance at being someone’s best friend so yes you should ❤️🇦🇺❤️
I am a bit late with this comment, but you certainly are brave; got back up on Raven after that fall and continued. I was sunfished by a palomino onto a pile of racks as a teenager. Never got back onto a horse again. Probably my fault; never was good at riding horses. Hope things go well for you and the mustangs.
There's a woman here on UA-cam who lost her foot to a horse-riding incident, her name is footless Jo. It wasn't the horse's fault, the horse fell and she fell under it It's just a hazard of being around animals so big I think. I love horses but I'm always wary of them because they are capable of serious damage sometimes completely by accident
Try visualizing in your mind exactly what you want to do to her. Show her, in your mind walking up to her and petting her on the shoulder or whatever you are wanting to do. She should be able to understand and allow you to do it. Also I show them an image in my mind of rewarding with a treat afterwards and ALWAYS follow through as you show them if they allow you to do the task that you have imaged for them. They are usually shocked that you can speak to them! ❤ so exciting when they learn to trust you!
Does anyone have any experience with hay nets? I have recently got one for when they stand tied for me to brush them and ect. and i am afraid that there teeth will get stuck in it. They have free access to it and a hale bale all the time.
Hey Britta, I was wondering, is there a limit to how many mustangs can be adopted per year? I have this feeling that it was four, and that would make sense; you had Sparrow, Merlin, Jaeger, and Raven last year. However, is there a difference because you used Devil's Garden? Thanks, Ella x
I’m sure you already figured this out but feel that it may have been better had you taken a few steps back more often and allowed her to come to you would have created more trust? That’s what I was feeling watching this♥️
Maybe I missed something, but what does a tag have to do with the horses worth? I’m new to your channel and would like to know what you do with these horses after you tame them? 😊
Would you mind to tell me about the delivery service you used? It’s the only way I will ever be able to adopt one and I have been wanting to for 50 years!
You may already know of Steve Young the English guy, he's so positive and gentle like you. When she moves to you make sure you signal for her to come. Set the control so she clearly knows early on you're boss.
So interesting how when you go directly for it she’s not having it. It’s alot like making art: you can’t always go directly at it, you need to show up and respond to what happens.
I’m assuming her body will change with better nutrition and hygiene. Apollo of Santiago malechak is a shire that he bought that looked nothing like a shire but now is gorgeous, playful, and he is going to use him for dressage ( I think)
When you are interacting with her try and give a carot or a piece of apple to reward her of her learning. And if you can try and kiss 💋 her on the nose. This will show her love
You're not being "Funny" Her life is worth Far More than some piece of Paper, and that Tag is a symbol of it. My Cats Lives are worth more than the piece of plastic that their ID chip is attached to. But that simple Plastic Tag, Says that I am responsible for Their lives. I Take Pride in That. Have I Replaced those tage with metal ones, Yes, But, Those Tags that Said, You Are Mine. It's like the ID bracelet when my children were born. You Could Not Willingly Take it From Me!
The next Raven video: Haltering a Wild Mustang for the first time!

When you first walk away from her and she takes that step towards you---oh, my melting heart.
Yay she really warmed up to you and enjoyed the scratches. Once you the tag off she drifted away, it almost seemed like she was pleased you finally got it off her and the mission was accomplished. So cute.
Raven is lucky to have you. Well done.❤ And you her😊
I think Raven really loves you and has formed a bond with you
Foggy lens or not, I just appreciate that you are documenting much of your journey with horses and sharing it with all of us.
You have great body language that shows your mustangs you’re not a threat. I’ve worked with young horses that stayed with their moms for 6 months with no human interaction. It takes a lot of patience to gain trust. You’re doing a very good job. Very proud of you. God bless you.
Thank you for the encouragement, Janet 😊😊❤
First comes trust. Without trust you can never be friends. This young woman has the secret down pat. Kudos!!!
Look at her! She's so friendly
I loved the way she kept stepping back towards you when you stepped away. She’s going to be a wonderful horse for someone and seems to have a calm spirit! I can’t wait to see the rest of her story
She looks so much better already! I am sure she appreciates a steady supply if food all to herself.
Maybe you could laminate the paper tag as a keepsake?
Would loved to see more of Raven’s development with you
Yay❣ Glad you chose Raven - was my first thought when you asked ppl what you should name her in your last video. Thanks for sharing that idea! I’ll definitely look more into that!! Yea, your right, fly spray is no match😅

@paisleyrakers4793 I mean right? XD
Awesome job missy
She's a great little horse and looks willing, but you are also a great trainer. Much respect for your patience and persistance.
Her Curiosity, is a sign of Intelligence.
Im enjoying, watching both of your Non Verbal communication.
Because, im learning too.
Oh, yes! You named her Raven. Awesome.
I love how you take your time and never rush things. I really enjoy your videos. Raven is the cutest.
I love that saying: “take the time it takes so it takes less time”!
These videos are so therapeutic to watch. I can feel the love and kindness exuding through the camera. Thank you for all that you do. ❤️

Wow! Ok so either you know how to pick great horses or you have a God given talent that the horses sense.

I am loving watching you work with Raven. I just got my 1st Mustang. Adobe Town gelding. He is with a Mustang trainer for the next few months 🩷🩷🩷
I was hoping you would give her that name. It fits her beautiful.
Dream To Reality, "that name. It fits her beautiful."
She is a beautiful horse.
Oh she’s such a sweetheart! ❤ Great job working with Raven.
Yay, good job Raven! She's in good hands, glad to see she's bonding.
You're doing really great with pressure and release. Excellent work. Raven is a beautiful name.
I think Raven was very pleased the tag was removed.
Tfsharing💓🐎💕
You are a very gifted trainer 😊
You areand she are doing amazing together ❤ she is so sweet and loving.
Love how gentle and patient you are. There is a real affinity shown between you and your mustangs. It must be so difficult to see them go.
Raven and the Mustang Maven - going forward! 👍

Your feeding program is working wonders!
Sooo...How would one go about helping you get a remote mic for your camera?
I really enjoy these videos, can’t wait for the next one.
She looks better in this video now gets a bit thicker. I am excited to see her when she has grown more muscle and is trained

This was so beautiful to watch!
Great job
Love how all your mustangs are named after birds…especially Merlin since I am a lover of the Arthurian legends!
We gotta get you one of those box mics so you can be hands free and wireless when working with Raven and the others! xD
Two best friends already!
Horses are very empathic.especially mares
Thank you so much ❤
How do they even put tags on them? I'm guessing lock them up or something for tag and that stamp.

🎉can’t wait to watch the video 🎉🎉🎉🎉
please make a video on the characteristics of a mustang and how to recognise an original mustang horse.

how old is she?
Sweet baby
