What he said is that the banana once planted deep can go with out water for that period or more until it gets water. In other words it can take some strain. However bananas do like alot of water and will grow nicely with lots of water.

Now I know what to do for our banana trees here on the property! A recent bit of knowledge, mosquitos pollinate banana trees! I knew they had to have another purpose besides biting me! Lol Great knowledge in these videos!

Bananas, are incredibly good, nutritious and grow very easily in tropical countries. The banana leaves are used as wrappers and many years ago, I remember Thai people using them on top of houses to make a roof which had to be replaced every now and then. I had a horrible inflamation of the gums which lasted a long time and I couldn't possibly brush my teeth. My teeth were starting to look very dirty after a while so I took a piece of banana leaf and started to gently massage my teeth, there was more saliva instantly produced and my teeth became very white again. I also chewed a piece of a banana leaf to get rid of the "dirt" on top of my tongue; it worked almost instantly. Today, I no longer use a toothbrush but just leaves, a great one I discovered is the leaf they use in Cambodia to cook amok, to clean your tongue and have a fresh breath there are many plants, one of my favourite is curry leaves, a leaf which seem to have a twin attached because of its shape. I'll keep experimenting so please keep informing us, another all purpose tree is the coconut tree which I have renamed Tree of the Gods because it can save your life if you get dehydrated when it's fresh, you can make coconut milk (they have saved many baby elephants in Africa whose mothers were killed for the ivory, by feeding them coconut milk), its purpose is just too wide to be mentioned here. I love coconut milk so much in banana smoothies, soups and desserts. My requests for next videos are:
    1. How to grow coconut trees, harvest them and use them
    2. How to grow avocado trees, harvest the fruit and how to store them.
    3. How to grow food in tropical countries by following the principles of permaculture (food forest).
    Thank you in advance.
    God Bless You All!

Banana plants are an integral part of Hindu culture. We use the leaves as biodegradable plates and the food eaten on banana leaves are said to be more digestible.
The edible inner core is said to be keep hypertension in control. Even the raw banana(cooked) is eaten and is a delicacy in the eastern part of India. The flowers are also edible.

My best friend linked this channel to me and I must say I find your style inspirationally humble. I am amused by the call to move to a tropical country for the sake of growing bananas. It's a cheerful thought that despite lacking western wealth and privelege, you enjoy the simple things in life so much more than we usually get to. I would love to try my hand at small scale farming here in New Zealand. I enjoy gardening a lot and have kept chickens before, and I have such an affinity for those animals.

great day! this is great Jon, as usual. for more seedlings you can actually cut up the trunk/root/stem into around 8 pieces - first in half...and place in some used tray. these pieces can grow up to even more than 4 seedlings!!!! still very much within the "easy" model
