I bought 210 denier rip stop nylon for a project that I'm working on but I think I need something a slightly thicker. I'm struggling to understand the weight conversion to thickness of material. Thank you for your time

I’m looking for some fabric to create a outdoor cover for my dog bed mat. I want something not too stiff so I can sew it with no problem, flexible enough, but most importantly tear resistant and waterproof. I just want to be able to grab a cloth and wipes in case I see dirt or mud. This video was helpful but I’m kinda confused on what type of nylon I should buy. Help!
I would probably use a pack cloth for a cover. Something with a denier higher than 400

I ordered a nylon jacket that’s not my size and might have to stretch it which I’ll test when it comes in; would I able to stretch it to fit me better? If so, how?

I want to make a backpack, I have 2 choices for the external material, they stand for cordura and ballistic nylon, which one should I choose?
I would recommend ordering samples of each and deciding from there. They are similar, but have different backings. It is really personal preference. Personally I would probably go with the Cordura because there are more color options.
For yard inflatables which nylon should I use?
I want to use this material to make a dog coat, I’ve been doing my own research but have no idea what I should use, the inner will be lined with a thin fleece but I want something water resistant on the outside as wel as strong and durable but can still breath. Please help. Thanks

Is nylon cloth durable when it comes to backpack bag?
I would say it's one of the best materials to make bags. Anything heavier than pack cloth makes really great bags.
Hi, I see that you mentioned something about a "coating" is that toxic? I'm looking to make a toy for my dog and was wondering if it's "chew" safe?
There's many chemicals used in the manufacturing of nylon and many other types of fabric so I can't say for sure it's completely non-toxic. It's not considered food safe for humans but very few waterproof or water resistant fabrics are. Personally, I wouldn't worry about my dog chewing on nylon as long as they're not eating it, but other people may have different opinions about it!
Could I use nylon as interior for handbags?
Sure! I don't see why not!
how to order the fabric
If I were to use nylon fabric for say, a cosplay coat would it be warm? Like, could I wear it in the winter and be somewhat warm
I would probably recommend some kind of lining. It would be great for wind and water protection, but it is not insulating at all.

If I made it into gloves, do you think the fabric would protect the skin and hands from the UV lamp I use to do my nails, if I make it into gloves?
I think it could. It is UV resistant, I just don't know the exact SPF rating.

You have to iron on the sticky backing to your material for it to be permanent but it's a great option!

I would use a cotton fabric for a mask. They are the most breathable.

Yes! That would be a great use for nylon! I would recommend ripstop or flag cloth.
Which product can be used to remove Black color from nylon ripstop?
Unfortunately, if the ripstop is black, I don't know of any product that will take that color out. If the black color has just appeared on the ripstop over time, you are going to want to use dawn dish soap.

Is 210D ripstop nylon and 420D TM dobby good for bagpacks??
I would use the pack cloth for bags! Ripstop might be a little lightweight for anything more than a drawstring bag.
both fabric can use for backpacks, 420D is more stronger than 210D

Ironing.
Use a press cloth and a low heat setting.. Don't put the iron directly on the nylon.
Is coated Nylon Oxford a good fabric for a barbers jacket material? (Water resistant and hair repellent)?
It could, but I would actually say that Ripstop Nylon is closer to what you are used to seeing.
