I don’t believe that Attack on Titan has plot armour, plenty of characters die, and the ones that don’t survive through their intelligence and the sacrifice of others. But Reiner is dancing pretty damn close to the line, the ability to transfer his consciousness was used twice in a single arc and never came up again. That was 100% ass pull.

On the first glance not dying in no. 5 and 6 seems like nonsense, but remember how each titan has their special perk beside their basic power? Attack - learning the future, Colossal - turning body to steam in any speed, Female - summoning nearby titans to devour Female titan, Jaw - can combine spinal fluid of other abnormal titan user to get an additional ability, Warhammer - user isn't located in the back of the neck, Founding - can see the past memories, Cart - can transport humans in mouth in fine conditions. Without reading any of Reiner's dialogue it's impossible to notice by the look, but Armour Titan can completely relocate user's consciousness, for example from head to legs, so that he can still live without a head and regenerate until it grows back.(but nothing beside regeneration when without brain lol).

@@redwright8028 I'm glad the curse was broken but I wish he kept the armored and was able to live without the curse but I'm happy he's alive. He'd probably be like " the curse is broken I don't have the armored anymore, that means I'm.....not gonna die.......goddamn it!!"😂
