- Quick drive in my 1994 Corolla ae101 5 speed manual. Camera makes it seem very bouncy but it’s actually a great, smooth, reliable daily driver. Engine is the 7AFE 1.8L.
This is probably the simpliest & the most reliable Corolla ever made.
Bring back memories seeing this. My dad had a 7th gen Corolla like that, also was a 5 speed. Ended up being handed down to me after he passed. By the time I got it, it had sat for so long that it needed too much work to be worth fixing. Was a fun little yard beater for a while. I ended up buying a 1999 5 speed corolla later on.
О, да, у нас corolla 1999 года, универсал. Прекрасная машина!!!
@@timnalichkin Unfortunately we didn't have those here in America. At least not for the 1998-1999 model years. In the US only 7th generation was the last Corolla wagon we got. Same generation corolla as the one in the video. 8th generation was 98-02 and 7th was 93-97
Good ol Corolla
Ur pfp and mine looks very similar lol, I thought I commented
that shift boot is too original for me lol
I still own this exact model in immaculate condition everything is still brand new when i got! But sadly out of jealousy my neighbor tried to burn it but i came in time to stop the fire but the roof and plastics where burnt and i had to replace it with used parts which made the car feel old but am trying to bring it back to how it was, i love my old school Corrollas!
You need to replace the neighbor sir
bro, what is wrong with your neighbor? is he in jail right now?
@@neometalx9 police came to investigate but nothing came outta it, apparently it was out of jealousy... Had to move to somewhere else.
cant express my anger when i read this. i someone did that to my corolla ill send that person straight to the ⚰️
@@relax9086get the 9mm bro
Still better than a Tesla 😅😅😅
1996 Corolla was my first car. I wish it was a stick shift though.
Nice! They are awesome cars. Bulletproof. This is actually my first stick shift car. It’s actually very peppy with the 5 speed with peak torque coming on at 2,800 rpm’s as well as short gearing in first and second gear making it easy to get up to speed.
@Henry Rollin then how come you have no videos bro
nice rev matching 👍
This car is so amazing!!! Will probably last another 1,000 years.
One of my fav cars 👌
Ilove corolla forever ❤✌
Such an amazing car
Nice Corolla man
Beautiful car
One of the funnest car to drive
Looks like Toyota really want to show the airbag when they designed this XD
I think the 1.8 is nice mated with this gen. In my country, we got only 1.6 4A-FE and 1.3 2E.
Luckily Toyota replaced it with 7A-FE when they launched AE112, and made 2 airbags plus ABS standard in the range topper SE-G.
Love to see old manual yotas chugging along
Got me thinking of ITBs and tubular manifolds and exhaust mods😄
Good driver. Doesn't rev the poor thing to borderline redline to get moving.🤙
i’d like one like that
That thing ripps
I spent the last 4 days working on my 96 Corolla.
Nice! They are pretty easy to work on (except clutch master cylinder, water pump, bypass hose, and fuel filter) but every other part is pretty accessible. What are you working on?
@@lunchonthehood5675 suspension all way around brakes and replacing rusted metal. Previously did oil pan fuel tank and all fuel/evap and brake lines.
Also did much of the same on my 98 Corolla.
🔥👌
Love old toyotas in general, but also love the old school corollas, these were relible and great cars for commute and even modification, wish toyota kept this level of qulity and relibleity also style. Now days toyota are still OK but not as relible or good quity as they used to be back then.
I totally agree. Japanese automakers back in the day were trying extremely hard to prove themselves, and really over engineered everything. The quality is exceptional (my dash is soft touch, fabric on seats feels better than new corollas and civics), reliability outstanding, and they were fun to drive!
Even the older ones have certain issues.
Broken interior door pulls
Terrible exhaust connections
Rusting fuel filler neck
None big money issues but issues none the less.
@@fixitallpaul4847 but there never been a car built that wouldn't had issues, if a car hasn't got issues it's not a car then, but those are very small issues that can be fixed with little money not like todays cars with issues that cost so much hence its usless to fix new cars rather scrap them. You can buy most relible car in the world and I'll still have minor issues
@@hassankhan384 I rather annoyance issues because those rarely leave stuck at the side of the road.
@@fixitallpaul4847 I don't think a toyota corolla ever been stuck on a road as they are as relible as they can, even if they have issues they'll never stop running, and shouldn't if well cared as they only need regular maintenance and they can go easily 500k miles, the old ones like in this video, usally new cars with electrical stuff and cheap engines or gearboxes are stranded on the highway usally.
Mein Auto von 1997 bis 2020 1,4 Liter 75PS gefahren 377000Km ohne Reparatur🥹😇
Whats your mpg or km per litre
Looking for a armrest like that on my 95.
Where you live my friend?
what is the engine of this corolla?
When this location
I wish my '96 Corolla DX was a 5 speed lol
mine has the 4 speed auto with the 1.8
I have 96 DX 5-Speed with 252K miles. I get 35mpg or more out of it.
@@ChrisBanda I just passed 339k miles on mine
@@Jeremy_Hill_2020 Very nice!
i had a 1.6 4 speed auto, auto really robs some of the 100hp lmaoo
0 100 accelaraiton 11 sn ?
MR2 next?
I actually think I have a clip saved somewhere 👀
Is that the stock exhaust?
Good ear. It wasn’t actually. It was a 2.5” custom exhaust with a resonator delete, flow master cat, and a magnaflow muffler. It was absolutely perfect and had a little rumble to it vs like a droney 4 cylinder sound and wasn’t too loud at all. I sold this car regrettably. But I have tons of videos of it still with the setup I had that I have to release.
@@lunchonthehood5675 hope we can see some of those videos soon
Is this the stockshifter? Your throws doesn't seem as long.
I also have the same year corolla 1.8 5speed, I replaced the shifter with a celica one. It shorten the gears but these transmissions don't like the action that a honda or mazda transmission likes.
Hey I have a question ummm so I have a the same car is from 1994 and like i lost a key for the car do you know any experts that can find or make any keys for the car
You would probably have to replace the ignition & key.
Bring your VIN to a locksmith or toyota dealer for a new key
The one I was looking at didn't have a tachometer
If it’s a 5 speed I would recommend swapping it
@@lunchonthehood5675 it is a 5 speed
@@AndrewPruteanu I mean if you already know how to drive stick you can just use the sound/feel of the engine. But I will say these cars don’t like going past like 4.5-5k rpms and you would feel the power drop off anyway.
@@lunchonthehood5675 I was going to buy it to learn to drive stick
@@AndrewPruteanu maybe get a tachometer since you’re newer
110 hp ? 114 hp ?
115hp and 115 ft-lb
114hp
I had a 94 with the manual. Die hard car, lasted 18 years, I only junked it because the brake lines were shot and def not worth repairing. Outlasted soooo many higher priced, European cars on my street.
That shifting lever looks disgusting lol
That’s how most 70’s 80’s and 90’s and even early 2000’s shift boots were designed. Accordion boots ftw 😉 I think they’re awesome. I even had an ep3 civic si (regarded as the ugliest of all time) and thought that shifter looked and worked awesome
