Only 2010's TNA could so seemlessly go from putting on one now the best wrestling matches of all time to suddenly completely ruining the entire show in a single short segment.
I’m 99% sure the Steen shoot that is being talked about is Hell Rising, which I do have and came out in 2014. ROH did a ton of compilation dvds like this that had the first disc as a shoot interview followed by a match or two if the shoot runs a bit short. Hell Rising is a 2 1/2 hour shoot where Steen talks about everything that happens between Final Battle 2010 and Supercard of Honor 2013 and a majority of it is Steen talking about how much he doesn’t like Cornette, although he does also put Corny over as an on-screen talent a couple times too. It’s one of my favorite ROH dvds ever.
Cool to see some more recent stuff on here. We’re far enough away from stuff like the CM Punk Pipe Bomb, the Nexus invasion, the Hogan/Bischoff era of TNA, the first episode of NXT etc. to get some takes on here.
I know they are not watching 3 hour Raw's but it would be cool if they did the Raw where they had the championship ascension for the unified wwe world title where the crowd cheered for Bryan throught the segment celebrating all the World Champions at that point.
My favorite one was the one where the shadowy figure talks about how "many people think he's Dave Bautista, but he is infact, totally not Dave Bautista. But he is a good friend of Dave Bautista. And Dave Bautista is a handsome, dashing, charmimg, rogue, who can Bautista my Bomb anyday." Or something like that #August1warning
@@SonBlackHeart22 I'm sure they did want Batista. Mother fucker is awesome, and an asset to any company. Not sure if it was known he was coming back to wwe during the time of the #August1Warning videos . However, I distinctly remember during the second video, the shadowy figure guy makes a big point to tell everyone he is totally not Bautista, and how badass and sexy and tottaly awesome Bautista is. It became a meme for a week on a few forums about how the identity of #August1Warning was someone who was head over heels in love with Bautista (as we all should be) as Big Dave was the only person mentioned by name on those videos. The other guesses at the time were Lashley (because the dude's shadow was bald) or Tyson Tomko (because bald and also gave hints about solving problems in TNA).
The bizarre thing about this episode is I don't remember watching TNA in 2013 but I clearly remember this specific moment with Ortiz showing up at the end.
Just fyi, the Infierno en el Ring match is actually a type of match held by CMLL. When they listed the luchadors on the episode I was like "hey now waitaminute"
God. I first heard about the Tito Ortiz debacle from Doc Destructo's video about him Just Standing There but I didn't realize how much of a shitshow his buildup truly was. "His tweet on August 1 got 10 likes." Jesus.
Could you guys do Hulk Hogan's last night in Impact? Johnny asked during the Main Event Mafia directed episode why this version of TNA didn't succeed. I would say one of the reasons being the person that was hanging on Hogan's leg as he was walking out...Dixie Carter. While she was a great benefactor for TNA in the early run, she ended up being a problem for them at the end.
I trust Jawnny as a politician more than most politicians, I want Jawnny as president with Slip as the Vice President and Nick Gage as the secretary of defense
With you guys talking about AAA'S match types, it makes me sad that we'll probably never hear the boys' opinions on AAA's special match for TripleMania where they have their wrestlers dress as Marvel characters (and even have Spiderman come down on a big zipline, usually). Honestly, even if they don't speak Spanish, I bet Deadlock would love Lucha, but it'd be hard to talk about it on a pod like this.
I mean couldn't they get a translator and just do it on English. I mean Iike doing it as they do now, not as a watch this where they watch and comment as it happens.
@@AL7249 I mean, I guess that could work, but they would need to like HIRE a translator, you know? Google translate and the translate function on UA-cam are just not really reliable for good translations, but I don't think they really need it(?) because the performance aspects of wrestling is universal (I mean, just look at the recent explosion of Japanese wrestling in the US, despite most not speaking Japanese).
CORRECTION: they weren't officially impact wrestling until 2019 when anthem sports took ownership, they were tna impact in 2013 when it was under dixie they were a faze when they rebrand into GFW IMPACT around 2017ish when GFW & TNA merge into one and from 2003-2007 under asylum years era - NWA/TNA when jeff and jarry jerrett was owners and in 2008-10 they were TNA wrestling 2010 is referred as hogan era.

Ha ha, they are in different locations. James is in NC and Johnny’s in Philly. I think James was screensharing his notes to the boys, not directly handing physical notes to Johnny.
"You stick something in the meat, the juices come out. And like, I'm trying to keep the juices in"- James Darnell 2022
I love that the interpretation of that is still interesting no matter if you understand what he is saying or not.
I don't know why, "with items," is the part that kills me. That's when I lost it.
I love a random "sorry I didn't pay attention" from James because you know he either legit didn't pay attention or was high off his mind, or both.
Or maybe not…. Dude 😂
1:41:48, James just breaking into hysterical laughter just thinking about the absurdity of the abrupt ending to the show was great

TNA used to make me so mad. They had such good talent and then it would be immediately undone by a stupid comedy segment.
Tito Ortiz with the dyed hair and doing the Throttle Frog Splash would've saved TNA.
This podcast is the only way I get through work at 6am lol starting the day with THE BOYS

Damn, dawg, you trying to tape trade? I got an Undertaker vhs that’s pretty cool
Honestly Steen when talking about being on screen has nothing but pros with corny, it's Corny himself he despised
Can’t wait for James’ Amazon review for the Little Green Monster: “This thing cleans the couch extra style!”
100% promise I read that as couch the first time I tried.
