    You could spend less than $5 on rice, spaghetti noodles and bullion or gravy from The dollar tree and make over 16 boxes of Rice a roni. The boxes are about 7 ounces so technically you could get over 20 packages for less than five dollars! And I made your recipe and it is absolutely delicious!

    Renae, do you remember the Rice-a-Roni Stroganoff mix where you could add ground beef? They discontinued it a while ago and it made me sad because I loved it. How could I make that as a mix? Many thanks!

    I have always made my own rice-a-roni. I don't season mine before. I grind a pound of vermicelli. However much that measures out to be, I add an equal amount of rice . I just leave it in a lock-n-lock container until I need it. Whatever I'm cooking will flavor the rice mix. I love your idea's.

    I can’t wait to make these for my pantry. I just canned a bun load of potatoes, corn, pizza sauce and a bun load of pinto beans. Tomorrow I’ll can peas . I have meat canned to use in these rice mixes such as canned chicken, hamb, venison, etc . Will be awesome to have. When two hurricanes destroyed all my meat in my freezer I decided to can almost everything or dehydrate. But I have a lot of rice I can use for these mixes. Can’t wait. This year I canned bourbon chicken and Asian chicken along with plain chkn. ❤

      No, use uncooked rice.

    • @Pamela_Gram
      @Pamela_Gram 10 місяців тому

      @@LittleVillageHomestead, I figured it must be uncooked. But it's either Instant Rice like Minute Rice or Long grain like you get in bags. One is quick cook and the other takes like 20 to 30 minutes to cook. I was wondering which one you are using in these recipes. I assumed it was long grain because it cooks longer.

    • @Pamela_Gram
      @Pamela_Gram 10 місяців тому

      @@LittleVillageHomestead....hi. I figured it was uncooked as these are for storage. What I would like to know is this Rice like Minute Rice which takes 5 minutes to cook or a long grain type rice that takes 20 to 25 minutes to cook. Thank you.
