I have the AT mod and I noticed that it has a tighter low end on the AT setting which makes it ideal for higher gain settings and humbucking pickups. However, even the regular BD is great. The BD circuit is fantastic.
I have both and the Super AT Mod is better with humbuckers than the BD-2w. It doesn't have that harsh decay on notes and chords like the BD has. and like you said, it is tighter low end in the AT setting. On single coils, both the Super AT Mod and BD-2w are almost identical with the BD-2w having more output. My fav of the two is the Super At Mod because it handles both Single coils and humbuckers (even my Slash buckers) flawlessly.
I have both pedals and have shot them out. They’re very close. The EQ is ever so slightly different. The BD has a slightly woodier tone if that makes sense. The AT Mod has a little more of a tighter sound, but it’s ever so slightly. In the mix you’d never hear it.
Yes, they were only planning to make a small amount of them. I have #0147 out of ? I also have the box singed by Andy on 09/09/23 @ The Iridium in NYC. Should be quite the collectible one now.😊
