No snow yet here in Nova Scotia Canada. I shoe my gelding with rubber snow pads and grippy shoes, as he gets bruised too easily on frozen ground to have them off for the winter . My other 3 go barefoot in winter ( well 2 are barefoot most of the time). I dislike that wet slushy type of snow. I enjoy a foot or two of fluffy snow that keeps everyone clean and just brushes off. Don’t like when it is too deep and the horses can’t get through the drifts though. Sigh. Winter is coming…
