This is so important!! People keep fortetting that every horse isn’t used to the cold!! My horses in Norway can handle 7- like it’s summer, but not all horses is made to be in the cold😂😂
My Three Icelandic’s plow through snow like it’s literally nothing, while my other horses can’t leave their stalls without thick blankets or they just run back 😂😂
I’m so sorry. This happened to me 4 years ago when I was 5 I had a horse named diamond he got kicked in the shoulder and he had to get put down I am so sorry this happened I am still sad to❤😢
All horses I've known over the years heve been given apple juice in their water to make sure that they drink enough during winter. I loved tvis video. Thanks, Esme. You are the best. Lots of love from Norway.
HERE BEFORE THIS BLOWS UP!!❤ Esme, you are so inspiring and amazing. The way you always care for your horses is amazing. You have helped me so much throughout my riding journey and I appreciate that greatly. I love you so much and am one of your #1 Fans! Love ya girl!❤❤❤
Esme! You’re very lucky! My family owns 6 horses and where I live it has already snowed! My family’s horses are very active and LOVE being in the fields there was one day where they sadly had to stay in ALL day the three horses were fine they didn’t really care because they had stable toys and those foraging food toys BUT the ponies were kicking their stalls and rolling around even though every horse got the same type of toys and food (but me,my mum,my older brother and my older sister did lunge all the horses for 15-20 minutes each so they could get a bit of exercise) AND the ponies are the oldest ones But they are the most energetic 😂!
Your ponies are so lucky to have such a caring mum. ❤ Right as the new year started we had a huge temperature drop, on some days at night we had -24°C, in some places here it got as cold as -29°C. You could feel your nostrils freezing whenever you went outside. 😂 Luckily the worst cold is gone for now, but now we got so much snow again. Also last week it rained for a day and then froze again the same night, so you can guess how slippery everything is. Winter is wild this year here.
-7°C in a maritime climate is no joke, because between humidity and wind chill it feels significantly colder and can sap the heat out of a body much faster than you’d think. There’s also the matter of temperature change, since going from dealing with -5°C for the past month to -7°C is fine, whereas going from +5°C to -7°C is a severe cold snap.
Hey Esme I'm a fan from the uk and u might or might not of got a notification but I mentioned u in one of my vids because your the best keep up the AMAZING work! ❤❤
I live in Canada to, and last year we missed a whole week of school. I have two Nigerian dwarf goats, and they don't do good in the cold, so they needed a lot more attention to keep them warm
yeah, it's kind of hard to go ourside and have your nostrils freeze shut unless you're constantly flaring them so you can breathe and open the gate to get the ponies inside!@@hellupellu_
we just got done with our cold front in montana. it was -20 for about a week so it was a lot of time in the barn for my horses and lots of hay and beetpulp food
Gosh, I’m so glad for my barn heating! I don’t really notice that having heaters in my stalls was a luxury until I see other people struggling without it 😅
These are spot-on tips for when things get arctic! I live in western New York where we've been well below freezing for almost a whole week now and this is what I do.
I had to go down to my loan pony when it was -7° and my mum used my ponies rug as a coat and walked down and back from her field with the rug wrapped around her 😂
I feed my horses celery, and sweet potatoes during the winter. I’ve had trouble with one of mine colicing so I did my research now my horses get celery and sweet potatoes with there diets
In Ontario Canada right now it’s around -20 C. So at the barn I rode at we haven’t ridden in almost a week. So we’ve been walking them over raised poles five minutes each way.
I had to smile- We have been having a week of -30 c, and our normal winter temp. is around -10c. and no, I don't live in the Arctic, I live in Ontario Canada. Stay warm 🙂❄☃
In where Iive I had a snow storm a few days ago the power went out and we had no internet it stayed for 4 days tho are sink water still worked we put candles in the house and we also have a flash light and I have a dwarf hamester at and his name is Mr. Marshmello he liked it we everyone stay safe and warm!.
I live in Australia and we don't have snow or extremely coldness so we don't get to cold in the winter but currently it's the summer and u am sweating❤❤❤❤
I feel you with the cold😩😫 Where I live it’s been about -23 to -28 for almost a week and I’m freeeeziiiiing (my car also has a hard time starting some days)😭 At least our horses are used to the cold winters so I guess that’s a plus🤷🏼♀️💁🏼♀️ And as you’re not used to the cold you have at the moment (and neither are your horses) I really do feel for you. It must feel like half an ice age or more😭
The weather is sooo cold! it's finally started thawing in the North West after a week straight of ice, my poor pony has been living on hay, ice and warm chaff soup! 😂
-20 in France next to switzerland boarder! Not easy with the horses but we manage. It gets very very hot in summer and freezing in winter. Lived the vid ! xx

Yes in the UK it’s freezing! I wish at break we didn’t have to go out!!! England is really freezing but we have to deal with it because some people are in freezing places!!
if it was this cold, i would probably go outside and make icecream. the coldest it has ever gotten where i live is 9 degrees, and that was almost 20 years ago
It is so cold where I live. I walked out of school and right away my face froze and I couldn’t feel it anymore. We also have like 2 feet of snow (which I think is like 60-70 cm). It’s crazy.
I feel you. We have tons of snow for our region's standard, like between 20-30cm. And below -10°C at night. ❄😨⛄ I want to be in California right now. 😅 Winter is not my jam.
STAY WARM EVERYONE ☕ 💜
Stay warm. It is so cold
It’s so hot for me lol but you guys stay warm!
Stay warm!
I’m in Australia and it’s 40 degrees Celsius
Lucky in England it’s currently -2 degrees Celsius
This is so important!! People keep fortetting that every horse isn’t used to the cold!! My horses in Norway can handle 7- like it’s summer, but not all horses is made to be in the cold😂😂
I also live in Norway and it has been 25 MINUS!❤
From Norway as well and we have 32 minus 😳😅
If it was -6°C all last month, -7°C isn’t a big deal, whereas if it was +5°C a few days ago, -7°C is a severe cold snap.
My Three Icelandic’s plow through snow like it’s literally nothing, while my other horses can’t leave their stalls without thick blankets or they just run back 😂😂
My horse grey man passed away last night but he lived a long life 20 years and your videos cheered me up
So sorry for your loss…❤ This morning I found my best friend’s yearling dead… 😢
I am so sorry for your loss @TheBulle once we found one of our yearlings dead l know how upsetting it is 😢

All horses I've known over the years heve been given apple juice in their water to make sure that they drink enough during winter. I loved tvis video. Thanks, Esme. You are the best. Lots of love from Norway.
I find apple bobbing really useful in the winter/summer as well to keep my horses hydrated!
If you put a tennis ball in the water, it doesn’t freeze and also if you cover the hosepipe with something it doesn’t freeze. Hope that helps

Stay warm and get lots of layers on
Feel for you UK🇬🇧🥶Sending you guys some Hawke's Bay New Zealand🇳🇿 heat, currently 34c🥵 with an overnight low of 24c. 🤗
Is there a reason why their water buckets aren't heated? So they always have warm water to drink in sub zero temps.
Omg i love your vids same for our horses. espetialy our foal!
