DUDE! i was checking for an update on their website every 4 or 5 days up until a month ago. i just checked and they sent me a notice on the 5th, but it got sent to my spam folder. i would have never known the auction was coming if it wasn't for this video lol looks like it's time to finish getting my suv ready for the trip. i'll see you at the auction Andy!
@@sailingsole totally. Been looking at some 13' to 14' welded aluminum. I had an awesome '60s Glasspar but it felt a little sketchy up here on the central coast. Morro Bay harbor is the closest launch however, I live in Cambria and we have a cool beach launch that I take my kayak out of.
Even an inflatable dinghy gets you out on the water and you don’t even need a trailer. Get a hard bottom RIB dinghy and the biggest motor that it is rated for. Thank me later! Jk 😂🤙🏼
Dang Andy! Love that boat at 7:00 mark!!!! Beautiful racing lines! Looks like a C&C. He's even got covers on the hand-holds! Too bad these boats couldn't be deconstructed and parts sold at a place like Minney's Yacht Surplus or something. What a waste of good hardware & such! Watching this kills me!
Thanks for the update on the upcoming auction. If I dont roll through for it, il look for your coverage. btw - James on Triteia mentioned / shouted you out a few videos ago. He was giving you props on some of your electronics.
Andy, can you please give me some advice on how to purchase one of these sailboats at these auctions and when the next one is in California. I live in Arizona and am very interested.

It is sad, Some of these boats actually have some salvageable items on them... Bummer. I did see a cool-looking boat on the next dock over.... LOL "Sea-Renity". Keep up the good videos ..
Haha awesome! I need to stop by soon. Sorry I haven’t yet, I’m always under the gun when I’m there. Yeah I hate to see some of those parts and gear go to salvage. Oh well…
No. Actually the exact opposite. Impounded means if the owner doesn’t pay the liens then it WILL BE auctioned. The bidder will be responsible for the liens and the bid price.
Yeah the only way I learned it was coming was because I checked. Now I’ve seen it mentioned in their newsletter but it’s a pretty small announcement. Strange.
@@sailingsole my brother is on x dock right by the bathrooms. Hope to meet you the next time I’m down there. My brother’s name is Dan. He’s there most weekends.
what is the pier or jetty # where the boats are located? The reason is, I am interested in the Cal 39 Bums Rush. I found a video of the boat being offered for sale in 2015 for $59,500.00@@sailingsole
I saw Americans giving away free boats, so this is another option. The boats I saw, for free require work to be done on it, so I think It is a win win situation, for people who give away free boats, and who take free boats. Regarding myself, I am working on getting my own property, so I would have a place to put a boat, and I hope other people realize that a place is needed to put a boat. The bills add up, for a lot of people to put a boat somewhere, but regarding myself I am planning to make it decrease. I saw lots of boats at marinas, and this is NOT where I am planning to put a boat!!! I am knowledgeable with driving boats, and boat maintenance, so my bills would go down if I find a boat that I like. I am willing to pay, for transportation, and maybe a small payment to make sure a boat is mine if I find a boat that I like, and I get a piece of property that I am currently working on!
... well, @@sailingsole, If you give up or lose your job you can sell the boat, if for example the bank or other officials impound your boat, have you done something wrong beforehand, right? Right on PK! See you there. Cheers!
Hey GREAT !!!!
Love this kind of Vids, specially yours ! 🙂
Thank you. Much appreciated! Cheers!
Man, I miss my boat! This makes me want to get another one.
What’s the nearest body of water? Even the smallest skiff gets you out on the water and satisfies the need. 👊🏼

I know. So much good gear lost if nobody bids on it. Windlass, winches, stoves… It’s a shame to see it go to waste.

Oh dang. I didn’t even know James did that. I’ve had no time for TV lately. Too much work. I’m gonna check it out. Thanks.
Do you know which video it was? I watched a bunch of his recent videos and didn’t see anything yet.
thank you for the info, all very interesting
You bet. Thanks for watching. 🤙🏼
Thank you very much Andy, I will miss this ones- but hope some day buy a sailboat there!
This won’t be the last auction. Stay tuned and more importantly, if you’re serious, you need to line up a place to take it after you buy it. Cheers!
@@sailingsole Of course, I was already researching how I could do it! Thank you again!
Thanks both my sons bought sailboats at auction. Both were under 30’ and needed work.
Auction or not, all boats need work 😂. That’s cool that they got boats. I hope it’s going well for them. Cheers!
@@sailingsolelist is out on the site now. Limited selection, unless you want a kayak

Andy, that is an Ericson. Looks like a 32 or 34. Surprised it's impounded!
Thanks. It looks pretty nice I bet.
Yea, the best out of this lot.
Holy Cow, Brother! I’ve never seen so many impounded vessels.
Yeah it’s a problem and I heard the marinas are cracking down and getting rid of all the boats with delinquent slip payments. There’s gonna be more! 😬
Thx again...
Always welcome. Thanks for watching.

The one with tape looks like the one that was on the break wall.
Dang. I didn’t hear about that.
Not a Cape dory. It’s a C-Dory and they’re awesome for their size

I'm curious as to where the impounded boats are docked.
🤔

Most of those boats look pretty rough. Hopefully a few will be rescued
Super rough. I only see a few that have a chance of being rescued. #davyjoneslocker
How long did it take you to learn how to sail??
A few days. I went out on mellow days and only used one sail at a time until I was comfortable. My wife and I also took lessons early on.

Where is this

Ya id be one wanting one of the bigger fishing boats..
Next auction is in the fall. 🤙🏼
@@sailingsole bad part is I'm on the other side of the country..
Excellent vid! Always enjoy bargain hunting and auctions are great! Are you planning on making a video of the auction? Thanks Andy!
Yes sir. I’ll be there and I’ll make a video.
... well, it looks like a lot of people are biting off bigger pieces than they can swallow, ... or why are so many boats being confiscated?
People die, people loose their jobs, people give up…there are a lot of reasons these boats end up impounded.

I hear that pretty often that moorings and slips are too expensive. Luckily my slip is reasonable.
