Hi. I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second child. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks

Bought 400 shares of VYM a while back at $67 and since I'm a buy and hold investor, I am happy with it's total performance especially since I'm retired. There is a bit less volatility in VYM vs. SCHD which I like.
I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2024, we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $350k of my savings in stocks against next year. Hope to make millions in 2024

SCHD’s dividend growth is coming back. Remember SCHD’s dividend growth comes not only from the growth rates of its holdings but also from the annual reconstitution. When it removed lower yields and adds higher yielding stocks this can significantly affect the year over year dividend growth rate. I’m expecting a very juicy dividend increase this quarter.

People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.
Very possible! especially at this moment. Profits can be made in many different ways, but such intricate transactions should only be handled by seasoned market professionals.

I'm okay with slower-growing companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb. If a slower dividend growth rate means better risk management and dividend sustainability, kudos.

Thanks for the great video! I always struggle when reading the 5- or 10- year of a dividend ETF not knowing whether that performance includes the dividend yield or not? How should I know and what would be a good public resource to find that kind of information without confusion?
Good video Mark! I can’t reconcile VIG in my mind. If you compare it to VOO… you get just about the same dividend with 11-12% price appreciation yearly. I think DGRO or DGRW may be better than VIG. That said, I’m all in on SCHD 1039 shares and counting!
I hold both SCHD and VIG in different IRA accounts and am actively buying into both weekly... VYM is on my radar and I'm still researching, but not looking to buy in in the short term. It could be a fit on my wife's ROTH account in the next 3 months as I'm nearing my target amount for another fund in that account.
I have a decent amount of VIG. I’m dumping schd and putting it into growth stocks the next time the market dips. VYM has severely underperformed the market. If you are young, go for total annual return, not dividends. Even a couple % difference every year over a long period of time makes a huge difference
I believe people investing should really focus on under-the-radar stocks, especially knowing the present Nature of the Market, as at two years ago,40%of my 310k of my portfolio consists of collapsing stocks that were previously respected, and I don't know where to go from here. But am happy that am really back fully on my fit.
I am for buying a small number of shares on the DIP for each of them until you reach a threshold. Could be 100 shares of each, then keep on going to the next level while keeping them more or less within the same number. The idea is that by the end of the year 202x you can compare them in your own portfolio.
Focus on total return. Dividend paying stocks are often considered “value stocks” in mature companies. A portfolio that is focused only on these will miss the stellar performance of VUG SPYG or SCHG. These growth ETFs have had exceptional performance since 2009
I always thought VIG and VYM would be a cool 1-2 punch for a portfolio. What do you pair with SCHD like those two together? VIG, DGRO, DIVB? What do you think?
