You did a great job on putting it together, no mistakes.
I am just making this according to the paper instructions. I do have a suggestion based on my personal experience -
Before fitting the wheels onto the axles, I would press the 2 x C13, C14 and C15 onto the wheels.
With the wheels already on (as per the instructions) I found it impossible to press these fully home. This also runs the risk of messing with the wheel settings on their axles.
But if you fit these first, they can be pressed home easily and without disturbing the wheel fitment.
Great fun to build. Kudos to the designers...well done! My model windup spring does not function properly but the gears function manually. More of a static display I think. I enjoyed putting it together and already ordered a new puzzle.
same as mine for the truck design，I think most of the designs need proper sanding and waxing to work properly. Made a mistake by just forcefully assemble all of the parts😢

My model, in the step of assembling the train's first wheels, one rolled and made the other one too. But, the other part, I felt it a little loose, and rolled withouth making the other one roll too. Maybe is a problem?

The video is a bit fast. I wish the video and the paper instructions were more clear about what exactly to wax and how to do it. Wonderful packaging and nice craftmanship. My 5 year old and I have been building it (well, mostly I'm building it because the parts are tough to force together) and he is fascinated seeing the moving parts coming together. Thanks Rokr!
Thank you so much for your love and support from you and your children. Typically, all gears that need to be meshed, as well as drive shafts and moving parts links, need to be ground and waxed. This is to reduce friction between moving parts. Based on this principle, referring to the manual, you should be able to know which places need to be sanded and waxed.
That is crazy complex, definitely NOT a beginners puzzle...

Great instruction video. Last year I enjoyed putting mine together over a series of weekends. NOT as straightforward as the video portrayed! But enjoyable, even if the coupling rods are a bit loose, causing the wheels to jamb if motion is desired.
@John Smith Did your kit come with wax for the gears? Mine didn't. According to the directions, you have to wax the gears while assembling the train. I didn't figure that out until after I finished putting the train together.

This tutorial is opposite of what the paper instructions included in the kit say about which section to start with. The instructions had me building and installing the inside gears first. I did not wax those as much as I should have and was not looking forward to taking the entire piece apart to apply more wax. Based on this tutorial, I don't think I have to do that. Thank you to the person who did this tutorial.

Mine just arrived and i was surprised at the size of the package. It is so small. I have a feeling l was scammed because I can't fathom how such a small package can make such a big locomotive. I hope that my kid loves his present.

Are there any pieces that require sandpapering? Sandpaper was included in the package but wasn’t mentioned in the instructions booklet.

The leading wheels are mistakenly mounted with their flanges on the outside. After a while, they magically appear with the flanges inside.

After a day and a half of building this thing turn the key flip the switch up and nothing happens. I can't figure out were the mistake is and if i tried to dismantling it to fix something would definitely wind up broken .

I'm just curious, at what point am I suppose to wax the gears? Doesn't even show that "step" in the video, but according to the directions, the gears are supposed to be waxed during assembly. The only problem I have with that tidbit of information is that the symbol (looks like a gear clashing with a bar) telling you to wax the gears isn't explained at all anywhere in the directions. Not to mention that wax wasn't included in the kit although the directions claim it is. Also, since I didn't wax the gears, mine didn't work anywhere near as well as the train shown in this video.
I found that a little difficult too. My kit included the wax which I thought I was missing at first. Turned out to be a 1 inch piece of wax, smaller than a Tootsie roll... Easy to miss in one of the parts bags, I believe. I did wish they provided more detail for those steps too. Mine works pretty well, just having some issues with the rotating of the smallest gear that sits horizontally. Best of luck!
@@kevinfogg5386 Yeah, first thing I did when I opened the kit was to make sure everything was there. I noticed in the instruction manual that there was suppose to be wax, but couldn't find it in the box. At the time, I didn't understand what I would need wax for. I also am having issues with how loose the gear on the smokestack is and it causing the other gears to jam. Thinking of just taking it out because I don't really need the smokestack to spin.
