DCS: Chinook CH47F Pre-order - Good to go?

- Hi everyone, with hopefully less than two weeks to go till the June 26th release of the CH47F Chinook let’s take a look at some of the information that has appeared in the Eagle dynamics forums since my ‘what can you do with it video’ to get an idea of what the release version will give us. And also a hint as to whether this will indeed release on time!
What do you think the release version will include?
Hopefully we'll get a final release video next week

Members of Echo Company, 1-189th General Support Aviation Battalion were tested on their proficiency at setting up and manning Fat Cow Operations on November 2, 2019. The exercise uses a CH-47 Chinook as a portable refueling system called a Fat Cow.

Thanks Chris for going through the forum and nicely summarise it all for us who are eagerly waiting for the release :)
Hope it supports airborne drops. Had many jumps off the tailgate. One of the better jumps out of aircraft. Hmmwv's inside the cabin was never an efficient use of space. Generally, the Army would slingload one or two hmmwv's in a yohi configuration or rigged side by side in a shotgun configuration as a slingload. This left room in the aircraft for troops.
Really looking forward to the Chinook, as long as the VR performance is decent I’m fine with other bugs/issues/omissions but if the VR perf isn’t there its unflyable simple as that
Thx for the info. Not too sure about this one. Definitely not going to preorder it. I think i've been spoiled with the F4 and the Kiowa's quality and completeness at release.
I’m aiming to push out some reviews, early thoughts etc. as soon as I get my hands on it, work/life permitting!

Ok so we have a delay till the 3rd of July, so more time for me to watch the Euros! plus we have more information about what we're getting in the release and future versions from ED themselves, stay tuned!
My thoughts exactly, already put the budget for SwA and the Hook to the side, guess itll be on my desk a week longer 😂
This is really a wait and see module for me, it needs to be able to do something not just fly around , I hope there's maybe placeholder cargo assets for the moment at a minimum, even if its simple click and load. Either way I look forward to crashing it soon.

Every comment from the devs about the logistics system confirms its not coming on day one. Nineline replied to me on discord and told me that it will NOT launch with additional logistics features. Seems like all it can do day one is what already exists (basic sling loading). Their hope is to have some additional hooks in the near future that scripts can use.
just out of curiosity, when was the latest video released by Eagle Dynamics on the CH-47? Shouldn't they be flooding us with hype so close to release?
So close? If I remember right, Wags posted AH-64 Sneakpeek video in September 2021 and already in March 2022 it was available in EA...

One thing to point about the CMWS though.
It will not have any thing ASE related on release, other than a RWR. If it release with that implemented. So no Warning for Missiles. I guess at least they will let you drop flares in MANUAL.
And regarding the CMWS, if i'm not wrong, its the AN/AAR-57. Which is already on DCS. In the ED's Apache or in the recent Kiowa for example.
I understand that they should be cautious about implementing it, but they should already have a lot of information. And should be not hard to add it to the CH47, if its implemented on the Apache.
I suspect there will be a delay ED has been too quiet. Hope I'm wrong though.
It's a machine I would like to have, but I'll let others to beta test it first.

@@zeno6111753 The Chinook itself sounds great but it seems like its missions depend on a lot of features that just aren't part of the DCS core engine, and ED doesn't have a good track record for making improvements to the core engine in a timely manner. If you love the Chinook then that's great but without offensive weapons you're not going to be doing anything that a UH-1 or Mi-8 can't already do. But at least you will do it faster and in style. But don't hold your breath for any of the special features that they're working on. Just look at the pace of progress on the 4-year-old Supercarrier module.

You know, no one is being forced to preorder right. If you don’t like what’s coming or if you don’t agree with preorder, then simply don’t order it. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. Not to mention this was announced long before the Razbam mess it was bloody good planning to do a cashgab for something that wasn’t even a thing at the time. Need to ask them the lottery numbers as well.

That gibberish… the module has long been developed before the issues occurred. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.
@@MasterTimbo oh i'm not saying the module was made because of the issue. Rather than it was announced so soon, and very obvioulsy rushed, because of the current situation.
