- When I get asked to ride a built 450cc engine, I don’t get as excited as you might think. It’s hard to build a 450 without it being unrideable. The parts list isn’t long and distinguished like some other builds, as this one was specifically set for an engine test. Most Garage Builds we have on here include all the little trinkets and doo dads, but this one was a bare minimum build on the outside, as there is enough going on inside of this build to warrant a test. I wasn’t even going to add this to our Garage Build line up, but after I rode it, I thought why not educate some people on how their 450s could be more rideable as well as reliable with some mods done.

My 2nd 4 stroke was a 98 yz .
One thing I love about them is if you perform regular maintenance on them they run good.
Would love to build a new one with a few mods .

Wouldn’t touch the motor besides checking the valves after 10 hours of hard work
So does TD do away with the plain bearing rod? Or just replace the stock rod and keep it a plain bearing big end?
If second gear is to jerky in corners, why not use third gear ?
Some people don’t like riding a gear higher, it’s honestly how riders get comfortable riding whether they ride soft or hadd
Is anyone else having problems w their '23 yz450 battery? Mine is dead after only 6 months. OEM is $600 and backordered. No aftermarket fit (not even Firepower, even tho they say they do).
