As an American fan of this show, I have learned so much Brit slang and pop culture from watching. Love it!
Yeh this is definitely English scheme culture. Scheme being (the projects).
A lot of this is English and not British as a whole. We have very different slang in Scotland for example

@@imanf3882 excuse me for the dumb question lol but what is the difference between something being British and something being English? Is it just scotland? And is that what brexit is all about? I still don't have a total grasp on that to be honest
@@clairer1622 no worries. So Britain refers to the union of England, Scotland, wales and Northern Ireland. These are seperate nations and have their own parliaments but are under the British monarchy. An English person is British but not every British person is English. You can be British and be Scottish, or Irish, or Welsh. Essentially think of it as four countries under one heading. The south of Ireland is seperate because it’s a republic. Anyway, in terms of brexit it essentially refers to leaving the European Union. The Uk/ Britain used to be part lf the union and have now left it.
I'd love to see what life in the village was like when they were still in school as a lot of their nostalgia comes from that time
