As a yank, I love this take on language. I live in central California and I have been blown away at times by my own ability to pick up on and understand Sikh, Armenian, Hmong, Korean,Japanese,and of course Spanish. I admire bilingual individuals . I am actually very impressed and proud of the variety of the people whom make up my community. I have over the decades noticed how, by the 3rd generation or so, most families seem to drop the old country languages and how many words or terms get picked up by others. I'm 7th generation Swiss/German/English, who favors curry dishes and Mexican food. I hope our world continues to blend. A real culture becomes so much more interesting and sustainable from building upon each other. There's an edge at times, but it's worth every bit. I would love a look at our future just to see who we will be.

I went to a Welsh school and was studying French with an English and French speaking assistant and was talking to her outside another teachers class, I got into trouble for speaking English to her outside his class so I spoke to him in French pretty much like Lauren here. He never bothered me like that again!!

Bruh, my Spanish lesson are like this with one student like her but the rest are wrestling each other and tearing up crap!
Swiss people also speak French, not just German.

As a yank, I love this take on language. I live in central California and I have been blown away at times by my own ability to pick up on and understand Sikh, Armenian, Hmong, Korean,Japanese,and of course Spanish. I admire bilingual individuals . I am actually very impressed and proud of the variety of the people whom make up my community. I have over the decades noticed how, by the 3rd generation or so, most families seem to drop the old country languages and how many words or terms get picked up by others. I'm 7th generation Swiss/German/English, who favors curry dishes and Mexican food. I hope our world continues to blend. A real culture becomes so much more interesting and sustainable from building upon each other. There's an edge at times, but it's worth every bit. I would love a look at our future just to see who we will be.
