My mum used to adore this show. Absolutely love this show. We found it not long after she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and no word of a lie, I thought she was about to have a heart attack from laughing. It was so nice to see her laugh and laugh from the show and to see her get her mind off things. I miss her terribly. She was an amazing woman, but I'll never forget her infectious laugh.

Haha. That is true. I live in the US version of Cotswold, if one can call it that. Rural, if anything. Conversely, just as much as we tend to think England is posh and this is actually more real, most outside the states might tend to think we're probably a bunch of yokels, but at the core we aren't much different.
I live in a small countryside village (Redditch) and my dad was dying of laughter the other day, because he watches this show and in one episode they were in a forest and found a random tent and we were on a walk and we also found a tent. Bit random but it just shows how accurate this show is 💀

I love the grittiness and rawness of British comedy. The dressing an all is so realistic and relatable which you don't find in glossy American one. The subtle humour is so funny. Love from 🇮🇳

Good point well made never thought about it like that. But it makes me feel like that too. Feels so familiar, the dialect and mentality, especially the gran you never see and only ever hear. Reminds me so much of my rural upbringing and the people where I live now x

I grew up in a small quite Welsh town. I used to go out in the fields and mountain with friends. We had such adventures. We made fire, cooked cheap sausages, flew kites, raced bicycles down the hill, explored old run down churches in the woods etc. Now I am in a town. Nobody walks outside. No parks or place to go. No friends either. Life is busy. I am a man of 21. Sad.

sounds like a boring life. In united states country life is the best. Fishing, driving 4x4 trucks and atv's through the mud, shoot guns hunt deer and drink beer, have giant bonfires with lots of friends. You need some excitement in your life.

sounds like the kind of lifestyle in my village here in northern Europe.
The thing is, it's a passing thing. Because once you get kids or pets, they drag you outside. There'll be a whole generation of pallid young adults soon being pulled into the sunlight for the first time in a decade by their kids or dogs.
I just hope they don't take their phones with them.

Wow! I live in a small rural town in New England in the U.S., and it's scary how similar it is to this in many respects. We, too have a scarecrow festival every year! Also love how Slug is like Gail the Snail from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I recently watched Detectorists and absolutely loved it. I'll be checking this out next!
