Happened to me about 2 months ago. It was a horrible experience but a lesson learned. The best part was, I thought I'd have to get a new battery and I didn't. Basically getting the car to start was a struggle. It took me about 30+ minutes to jump using my other car. When it finally started, I drove for about 15 minutes. Came home, shut it down and tried to start it. No luck! Then I decided I'm going to put it on the charger. I left it there for about a day. Finally the battery charged up completely and since then, no issues. I put it to charge at least once a week and try to drive at least once a week as well. I still love my car. Just wish we didn't have to do these extra stuff specially with the price we pay for it.
or just remove the negative terminal if it's going to sit for weeks/months. Also, a deep cycle battery helps. you'll get all kinds of warning lights when reconnecting but they go away after driving for a few miles and restarting the engine.
Did you try to contact us about the battery? Glad you were able to get it taken care of. Very informative, most ppl dont realize a battery can go dead on a high consumer car within days for not being drove.
OMG, if it wasn't for this video, I would have been calling for towing and trying to put the car into neutral somehow. I just used my other car and a booster to successfully start the car. So I guess it is only a battery problem and nothing major. Any advice on a battery charger that I can try? WeatherTech? Other?
Not true, i own 2 ghiblis and have jumped both due after it being fully drained. You only need to jump from one end but due to the H8 battery you would need a 100amp or greater jumper or simply a car and just leaving it charging for more than 10min it will start right up. Similar to starting a dual battery truck you just need more power.
Really good explanation on the battery "issue" Basically there is no issue... battery dies and Maserati made sure the car at to go to their shop. Nobody would remember to do both front and back. So there should be something in the car that verifies I'd there is voltage in the front and back. If that doesn't verifies the car doesn't start. Simple and effective to make people going to Maserati shop
Morning I've watched a few of your videos. I feel like I can trust your opinion based off the tone and accuracy of your explanations. I haven't had a license in a few years, by next year I'll be back on the road. Would you reccomend this vehicle as a daily family vehicle? I know I'd be traveling more than 4,000 miles a year. I live in New Jersey and often travel out of state. Any advice would be appreciated.
Phil at what point did the battery fail how long had the car been sitting when you discovered the battery dead and was this the first occurrence? I'm looking at getting a Ghibli myself. Do you now use a trickle charger and at what regular intervals thanks for this excellent post and the previous video overviewing the vehicle
The car had been sitting for what amounts to two days time. This was the first time the battery died. I never used a trickle charger with it because I drove it several times a week. The issue is driving it less than 10 miles per day or less than 4000 per year as described in the owners manual. I would highly recommend getting the battery charger from Maserati and installing it right next to the battery in the trunk. I showed a couple pictures of people who've done this in the video. By the way the car was two years old and had 10,xxx miles on it when the battery died. I would use the charger every night or almost every night just to be safe. Thanks for watching.
My diesel was jump-started first-time but the battery was not dead it would not start the car. I leave my car for up to 3 weeks and it starts the first time.
I believe shops believe people have money when these cars come into them that's why they charge outrageous prices I'm glad my uncle is a Mechanic he did all my work on my Porsche Cayenne I'm about to buy 1 of these and let my uncle be my shop again he saved me a whole lot compared to what other people that I knew with my same car was paying
I wouldn't consider it extensive maintenance .I just set aside 3 to 5k a year for my Masi.. actually I'm a mechanic and this vehicle is well built..just see what the car wizard has to say..he has one.

Can you also share your experience on the quality of the gearbox? I heard a lot about bad shifts and .... Also , do you as well have rattle issues?
Do you put the charger's negative pole to battery's negative?
Hey phil i have this bmw and i cant make it charge was wondering if cahribg the rear and front might work too or jist try the trickle charger
I put my on a trickle change at least 3-4 times a week.

My diesel was jump-started first-time but the battery was not dead it would not start the car. I leave my car for up to 3 weeks and it starts the first time.

Is the Quattroporte better than?
i never see any Italian car reliable except the old fiat 70 s and 80 s
I have 2015 Ghibli SQ4 and the oil change service cost $800.00.
Downforce AutoSport 😳
It doesn’t cost that much. You got hustled out of your money. It’s between 350-550$ depends on dealer
You paid for one in advance.
DIY?

New battery every 3 years..lots of draw of computer and alarm systems..put an agm battery charger on trickle..on automatic..
I would rather buy c400 or c43
Less tension than this car at least
You sound angry! thanks for the tips
Why would anyone buy one of these cars? A maintenance nightmare in waiting.
@@kurtjammer9568 who said anything about limited? How about extensive maintenance that Maserati requires vs just about any other car?
I wouldn't consider it extensive maintenance .I just set aside 3 to 5k a year for my Masi.. actually I'm a mechanic and this vehicle is well built..just see what the car wizard has to say..he has one.
@@kurtjammer9568 Believe me I don’t like boring cars. I drive a 1998 Mercedes SL 500 R129. I just am apprehensive about buying any Italian car.
Fahren sollt ihr mit dem Auto... und nicht nur bla bla bla...... FAHREN !!!!
