I wonder if this woman knows how five years after making this video it's still helping newbies like me. I love her teaching technique: slow, clear, great. I will never not see pearls as smiles and frowns now.
I first saw this video 6 years ago and looked at it again tonight because I thought maybe I was doing the order of the kitchener incorrectly and wanted to be sure. This is one of the best knitting channels by far. Her instructions are very clear.
Oh it's so much less confusing this way! This is the best kitchener stotch and sock weave end demonstration and explanation i have seen so far and also my first ever youtube comment (who would have thought itd be on a knitting tutorial...)
I absolutely adore this tutorial. I am a Kitchener Klutz and will probably always be, but this video produces a 90% reduction in my Kitchener Stress. My blood pressure is so very grateful to you. And yes, for quite some time now I watch this video every sock I finish.
I've never seen a video on weaving in ends and finishing stitches like this, thank you so much for taking the time to show the whole end process and not just the stitch itself.
Many thanks for this very clear demonstration of Kitchener stitch without the ears. I have always struggled with this when making socks and still have to adjust the tension of the stitches when completed, but the traditional beginning and ending have always bothered me. This is so much cleaner - and just simpler.
This is THE BEST video. I watch it every time I need to kitchener. I’m a reasonably experienced knitter, but this stitch always trips me up. This video makes it so simple.
I just have you say...your video saves me EVERY time I finish off a sock. Your video is the absolute best Kitchener Stitch Video out there in my opinion. THANK YOU!
excellent! The best tutorial on youtube for the Kitchener stitch. Very clear instructions. Suzanne explains every step, shows where the yarn is coming out. I had no idea that you keep the yarn under the needles! Alot of other tutorials gloss over some important steps. Thank you!
This is the best kitchener stitch instruction I have ever had after years of knitting. Thank-you. This is now my gold standard. Good-bye dog ears. Sad I did not find this earlier.
Thank you so much for posting this very clear video. I’ve no idea how many times I have done this but my 82 year old brain just went BLANK this morning.
@SuzanneBryan I have knit sock after sock and I turn again and again to this video. Not because I forget this ideal result you teach so well, but because I love the feeing you are sitting at my side to guide me once again to sock toe perfection. You are a master knitter, teacher and guardian angel all at once. Thank you YET AGAIN for your tutelage which truly lasts a lifetime!
I am astounded at how clear your instructions are! I have made many pairs of socks, and have always grappled with Kitchener stitch. Watched so many clips, and was still confused. Your video is clear, and I will adopt your mantra with each sock I make. Thank you thank you!
I always skipped the set up at the beginning but no one ever showed how to do the last 2 stitches.. I love how yours finishes up. Thank you for making it so easy to see..
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I had just finished watching a different person doing a tutorial on the kitchener stitch and after just a few stitches, she stopped demonstrating and started talking and got me so confused I wanted to scream. I searched around youtube and found THIS video and you got me sorted immediately! Thanks so much for this. I am subscribing now.
Thank you for your video. I have been trying to learn the kitchener bind off for years. With UA-cam I can see it as I do it. Now my socks look great. Your a GREAT teacher
I watch this literally ever time I Kitchener anything! Even if I think I remember, I double check 😅 This is the best Kitchener video there is! Thank you!
been knitting for 60 plus years and have never made socks. i was struggling with the toe but your ingenuity and mantra simplified it so well. thanks and all good wishes.
Thank you so much. I usually knit socks toe up -- but if I ever do a cuff down, I always re-watch this video and follow along, stitch by stitch. THANK YOU Suzanne! I hear your sweet voice in my head.... Knit off, purl on. Purl off, knit on.....
This is by far the best Kitchener video I’ve ever seen. I’ve been making socks for several years and always make errors in my Kitchener….always….. Even in spite of this great video, I have to stop the video after every step and can’t go forward without watching. I know the mantra in my sleep. The front side is no problem but on the back a knit doesn’t look like a knit and a Purl doesn’t look like a purl and I guess by now I’ve done thousands. It must be a dyslexia thing. Anyway, this video offers me the first real hope that I might learn it one day before I shuffle off this mortal coil.
Cate, thank you for your very kind feedback! I have every confidence that with practice and diligence, you will overcome any and all Kitchener issues. 😉 Thanks so much for watching! ❤️
Watched so many videos of Kitchener Stitch and have never managed to do it myself until watching Suzanne's instructions. Thank you Suzanne, I have now got my first pair of hand knitted socks with a lovely toe!
Thank you so much I was in school and I didn’t get to finish my my last sock and now I have and I’m so grateful that this video is up so thank you so much:)
I always forget how to do this stitch and when I first started I watched a bunch of different how tos before coming across this one. It has become my go to before I start the Kitchener stitch. Thank you so much for this quick and easy explanation! ❤
After years of doing the Kitchener stitch with great difficulty, I feel as if a cloud has been lifted! NOW I understand the technique!! Thanks so much for simplifying this!
I know this is super old but i can't stress how much this helped me! Great instructions and thank you sooo much for showing how to weave in the ends too!
When I first started knitting, I remember seeing socks knit by a man who knit only socks, and was impressed by how beautiful his Kitchner toes were. No pointy little dog ears, which I've always disliked. I thought it was because he had years of sock knitting practice, but I realise now that he had been using your method. I now also use your method, and the toes of my socks are beautifully rounded too. Thank you so much!
I swear UA-cam can read my mind because today I finished a sock and noticed it had annoying little corners on the toe because of my kitchener stitch, and then this video got suggested to me! This is so helpful! I always thought you HAD to do those first "set up stitches", but those are what were causing the bulk! Thank you!
This is the best instructional video for the Kitchener Stitch EVER! Thank you for putting this easy to follow explanation into the hands of those of us who need a clear example every time we're faced with this stitch!

Your demonstration really helped to solidify it in my mind! Constant referral to the printed instructions for the kitchener toe is not only more time consuming, but makes a knitter a lot more prone to mistakes than by having the order of the stitches memorized. It is so nice not having those weird squared toes, too!
Goodness gracious! You are my angel. No one, absolutely no one, has demonstrated this bloody graft as clearly and thoroughly as you have here. In particular, you made it very clear what to do with the yarn when moving front to back and back to front. I did a perfect kitchener finally, except my beautiful knit finish ended up on the wrong side because I could find no one who said how to carry the yarn forward and back, etc. My saving grace was that my kitchener was worked on a small swatch that was simply knitted to learn this bindoff/seaming method. My learning is exponential. 😅 Thank you so much. My friend sent me your tutorial, and I'm an instant subscriber forever now.
I thought I was attached to knitting my kitchener stitch, but your method is so elegant and simply that I've converted! My tapestry needle and I are making lovely rounded toes together. Thank you!
I don't know why it's taking this old dog to learn a new trick. But I'm so glad I can watch your video every time I finish my sock. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!!
Hello Suzanne! 7 years on and I have a completed mini sock that will be a Christmas tree ornament. I followed you along pretty much stitch for stitch. I'm a happy camper .. errrr .. knitter :)
After watching several different videos on this technique, yours was the only one that really helped me decipher and break down the stitches. After a few stops and starts of the video whilst working along on my sock, I finally was able to complete a decent look end result. Thanks so much

Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos. You make it clear, percise and so easy to understand.
You are so kind to say this, thank you! ❤️
Thanks so much
Great to hear!
Best Kitchener Stitch tutorial ever. Cheers.
