By far the most comprehensive video on the topic. I' ve bettled with gout for over ten years and read a ton of stuff on the internet it covers pretty much all. Great work! thanks!
erudite...receptive and best of all. presented with a straightforward delivery. I wish more were like you. Excellent diction and volume as well. A true pleasure to listen to
I got a machine to test uric acid and it seems too fluctuate alot through the day. what is the best time too have reading? fasting moring reading or after food?
I've suffered from gout attacks severely in the past. I got it figured out for my body, only took about 10 years- diet. I do take uloric daily. Basically, I say I'm allergic to processed foods.
You say in above summary: "the majority of people with hyperuricemia will never experience gout and are better left untreated" Then, however: "People with more than one gout attack a year probably should consider ongoing treatment with allopurinol to lower the serum uric acid level to 6 mg/dl. This minimizes the risk of further damage to the joints and kidneys" Presuming there is no connection with gout attacks, per se, and damage to joints and kidneys by hyperuricemia, why wouldn't gout-free persons with hyperuricemia not also be advised to take allopurinol to minimize kidney damage?
The term you used for native New Zealanders and Australians is now considered offensive. Please don’t think I’m policing anything, just mentioning it as I’m sure most outside our two countries wouldn’t know from the literature. Hopefully a kind FYI. I love your channel.
