One of my life aspirations is to be a writer, but I struggle with the consistency required to hone my craft. Writing daily, even for a few minutes, triggers that resistance inside of me. Could-do lists sound appealing, but writers can't write whenever they fancy or when inspiration strikes. You can't expect to do that and advance in your career -- it just doesn't work that way, which makes it a challenge for me (and not the good kind!). A different tactic is required. The strategy of identifying yourself with the habit you are trying to build is genius. It addresses the rebel's innate desire to be authentic and different, and it leverages that to their advantage. These techniques are quite savvy and I'm hoping they can help me to work with my tendency rather than work against it, to harness that power inside of me instead of trying to overcome it. Great video. :)
The Could-Do List is revolutionizing!! 💯 I actually already do this but I didn't know that's what it was called! I have like a perpetual to-do list on my notes app on my phone and i just list everything i wanto to do eventually....and that's where i look to find something i want to do for the day. It's like an unending to-do list because it never ends hahaha. And now that i know that it's called a could-do list, i now know that it's never meant to end. Hahaha. And that's very comforting and takes off a lot of pressure. ❤️
Love your journal! Could you link to it? Also I think I will try Information/ Consequences/ Choice on myself by writing my "List of Possibilities" (eg. to do list) somewhere listed along the consequences if I dont do it
Wow, thanks for this video. My partner is a rebel and it has been tricky to get my head around the different ways we do things. This has been very helpful.
Can you please share more examples of the information, consequence, choices that would be used in day to day life? My fiancé is a rebel, I’m a obliger, and I’m on the verger of obliger rebellion, because I feel like I do everything. Please help!
For an Obliger, it's 100% necessary to have some kind of external accountability in order for you to stick with a challenge. Your own internal movitation won't be enough to see you through. I've got a video that talks about Obligers if you are interested in hearing more about that: ua-cam.com/video/SeLNljkN0HA/v-deo.html
You are brilliant and I love your suggestions for Rebels!

I am a Rebel too and I'm struggling with studies and basically everything.
Same here, mate. My inaction is causing slow self destruction in my case.
Tell your family to tell u that u cannot do anything and then u will prove them wrong... because i topped my clg this way in order to prove them wrong

Yes!!! The “Having all my tools laid out” is exactly what helps! If I can’t find something right away, I don’t want to do anything anymore. LOL.
I am a rebel myself. Your video and examples are the best. This is so close to my heart and is a massive help🦦. Thank you so much
😊
Some one tells that I am Rebel ❤
The only thing that works for me is the identity information-consquences thing.
I'm obliger but I'll join the challenge be pumped up to do it then completely check out when it's time to start. Or only do a week. Y you think?
