    Summary:
    1. Develop a sense of necessity and urgency for the things you need to get done.
    2. You don't need to be ready or wait for the right moment, just start and everything will unfold.
    3. It's ok to be lazy sometimes. Enjoy it. Don't overdo it.

No it is agency......not urgency. Agency in this context is the functional equivalent of Arendts vita activa.

I am self-employed and work from home so self discipline is essential to me. Something that helps me is to write a (very brief) daily journal in which I write down my weekly to-do list on a Sunday evening and then every evening, I write down the to-do list for the next day. I make sure it's only 2-3 really important tasks I *must* get done for the day to be considered a success. Writing it down physically on paper creates commitment and also helps your brain subconsciously start preparing for the tasks on the list. 2 of my weekly tasks are "I must get up at 7am every day" and "I must start work at 8:30 am every day". - It really helps to create urgency to get started. Once started, you find that most tasks are much less painful then we imagined.

The American way of life is about staying busy, always chasing “something”. Our motto is time is money. Work, work, and planing to enjoy life after we retire from the rat race. Even eating is something we do while driving . We retire after age 65, and for many people that means being sick or financially broke. We equate relaxation with laziness. I say we need to learn to enjoy life daily. More relaxation.

I don't think that relaxing and enjoying life is the same as being lazy.
Being lazy means to preferring being comfortable than doing something different at the expense of apparent wellbeing.
If you are a blue collar man doing desk work since always, you feel like your life is always the same, but you prefer to not change anything because the risk of failure or discomfort... yes, you are being lazy.
When you do not take time to plan that vacation you always wanted to take just to not make your boss mad, or holding your ground going home early after working hours... you are being lazy.
Not spending time with your kids or family because they are something troublesome and share their problems and concerns about life with you... you are being lazy.
Comfort and laziness can be present in an active lifestyle.
You are NOT lazy when you do what you KNOW you have to do. In other words, you are not just letting life dragging you to whatever destiny it takes you. You decide.
What happens is our body tends to not spend energy when there is no need to. So being inactive is addictive. That difficulty to change from a passive state to an active one is what we know as lazyness.
But to me, a man that is not capable to willingly stop his run on his rat wheel to think about his own life or enjoy the little moments is just as lazy as an hobo... they are just unwilling to confront change and conscious self improvement.

As the saying goes, Insanity is doing the same thing expecting a different outcome. Busting your butt grinding everyday without any gain pretty much tells you it’s the wrong strategy. Yet the halfwit mindless moron motivational mob tell you that’s the way. It’s obviously not. When you’re stressed out your client meetings will be overpowered by your stress, negating your presentation. You put out what you receive. Rejection after rejection. Stress them and they’ll not want to buy in. You’re motivating them not to buy. Focus on identifying credible clients rather than chasing everything. And forget the UA-cam motivational nonsense.

My eyes are tearing up. Last week I asked my girlfriend that we should take a break. Am 30 and I want to marry this, queen. But I felt that if I am at risk of losing her, it would give me the "fuel" I need to kick-start my software/music SA startup. Now I see why I did this, I understand what my mind is doing. The fact that I took this very CORRECT step without having this new knowledge, tells me that the manifistation process is working. My brain knows what to do in order to actualize these big dreams of mine, I just need to keep trusting my gut, hopefully without feeling so hurt by seeing those around me, my girl included, getting hurt by my harsh decisiveness. But to build the abundance I need to be the helper I know I am, I need to be selfish right now and just trust the vision.

That’s Mr Greene, I’ve always listened to motivational speakers, and developed just enough spunk to get through tough times, but I found myself in a pickle that almost every where I went, people are never on the same page and going through their own procrastination, not working, not having good habits and I can tell you it’s exhausting, to constantly feed others motivational encouragement, it’s pleading so much I myself take for granted my outs of what must be done and it pleats me so much I become two steps back.
But yet again I have to pull myself together and make this work, the biggest thing I’ve learn that actually has merit of progress, is the actual connections and talking to people directly, having contacts that I can call in the whim to keep my mind and spirit in that struggle of progress not the struggle just for the struggle. Staying in the grind is hard enough, but coming out of the pits is another animal. Which can consume you. I see exactly what people mean like Jim rhon, who said he almost died trying to help people who don’t want help, that good people are not built or taught but they are found, similar to all the philosophers like Lao tzu and Confucius who say if you’re the smartest man in the room you’re in the wrong room, just to listen to wickedness is already the beginning of wickedness.
The only ones that I feel have a fire that burns hit enough to make me bounce out of a rut is scripture, when David warns about being around too much wickedness, idleness and non God fearing people, that when he was silent he was dumb and his soul was stirred and burned with fire until he spoke.
For they are all synonymous, Lao tzu said sincere words are not fine, and fine words are not sincere, Solomon says open rebuke is better than concealed love. And even Gautama Buddha says you must know what and when is beneficial and what is not beneficial to even know when to leave the weak behind. It’s ridiculously tough, so although I still watch pick me upper Dicipline videos, I feel the greatest sense urgency and push that comes with struggle to progress by having to talk to people of real, having my own wise counsel that has their shit together to feed off of, talking to pastors on the phone helps, but I know talking in person is loads of anxiety and fears put forth, but it offers loads also both conformed and the bad and weighty things released and discarded.
Like solomon states, a live dog is better than a dead lion, to cling into the living their is life, and how Jesus says, let the dead burry the dead, you follow me it’s either yes or no, this is where we see in our counsel we must always be diligent and prudent enough to state all that there is in its steaks and risks and be urgent and serious about it every time the opportunity and situations arises. Thanks Mr Greene, it’s always refreshing to see and hear others are in the struggle too and are able to explain the importance of not being lazy, idle, or slothful in our duties, and priorities. And ti always ask of the friendship, the brotherhood and fellowship for aid and help to also our higher powers and of our Gods. Thanks again.

I think it's also important to bring up despair, hopelessness; If you feel despair, then you begin to lose the vital sense of urgency even on "Death Ground". Everything feels pointless, and more than you are capable of bearing, so why bother? It is possible to fight back against this hopelessness, it's what I'm doing right now, but it is a struggle. I know it sounds melodramatic but it feels like those ancient tales of men struggling hopelessly against gods or fate itself, like Sisyphus or Oedipus. Have enough courage to fight back against those false 'gods', and take Mr. Greene's advice too. If you can't find something to live for, find something to die trying, there's always something.

Insanely good answer. Especially the end part. I think stillness and nonaction is the most valuable activity in a great many situations. This makes me a "bad" employee - because the company/boss is "paying you by the hour" - and they want to get an hour's worth of "productivity" out of you for every hour that they pay you. But is it valuable to do something that doesn't need to be done, spending your energy for no real purpose, just for busywork? I believe not. I use time when I'm not on Death Ground for daydreaming and imagination and philosophical thought. I think being strategic is more important that being busy. I need to start my own business. "Before I am ready" hahahaha.

And I don't like reading anythings else while I'm reading those, so as not to let it interfere with my absorption process. Thank u for all the hard work u have done!!

Always read other works from authors with totally different perspectives and opinions to ensure you aren’t indoctrinating yourself with what may be very flawed thinking and conclusions from one individual author. Wisdom is acknowledging that no one person is right but all have something worth paying regard to. Widen your reading to open your mind.

Laziness is boredom in disguise. Boredom is fear in disguise. Using the word 'lazy' is lazy itself.

Thank you for this. Over the years all my family has died and it's made me very lazy, because I think what's the point in stressing myself out and doing anything if we don't have much time left. I'm 41 and I got some years left, got an inheritance where I don't need to work. I don't want any stress, have no purpose and am lazy.. people tell me I should volunteer, but what's the point.. I just enjoy every day, pursue my hobbies, keep in shape, read books, chase women, and live my life.. I could never work for anyone and don't want that stress, I travel and meet new people; Almost 60 countries visited so far. Not everyone has a calling like you do Robert, a gift you gave to the world with your writing.. Not everyone has a clear purpose.

Robert, I have bought all your books and reading them in order of first to last. I finished 48 Laws of Power and now I'm currently halfway through The Art of Seduction. I wished I discovered your work sooner because of how profound this information has dramatically helped me as someone who struggles to communicated socially, it's like you have gifted me this growing superpower and I'm so grateful for that. Love your work!

Also, try reading Six Minute X-ray and Ellipsis Manual by Chase Hughes. Another good one is The Ape that understood the universe by Steve Stewart Williams. Once you unlock that part of your brain where you understand people's motivations in life through their evolutionary hardwiring, then you'll always see people in a different way. Including yourself. The best way to understand human nature is to first understand yourself. And that requires some brutal and uncomfortable honesty.

silent I think of a book as something that is not read once but to choose a great book and read that book every week, 52 weeks a year, creating a paradigm shift. How many books does someone need to read? I think one book contains a lifetime's wisdom, so it shouldn't be merely read but fully absorbed, creating powerful new beliefs and identity-level change. That is my perspective. Having said that, I skimmed through "The 48 Laws of Power" and "The Art of Seduction" many years ago before having this epiphany, and as a result, recall nothing of what I read.

Thank you. I'm at the point where I am so lazy that my busy life has catched up and the entertainment that keeps me lazy (Light novels, games, etc) I found rushing to complete because I always feel as though I'd lose time to enjoy those things when in reality I find every excuse to go back. That whole necessity thing is in reverse. This helped a lot for just being 3min, thank you!

Good points I think people forget anxiety isn’t necessarily a bad thing it often is the motivator to success. I think what you said is very relatable especially those in college always wanting th further their education when really if they just jump into the profession they will learn more than any professor could tell them.
