Thanks for this tutorial, I’m carving my first owl tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos and slow down and explain things. It really helps the newer carvers like myself…. Thank you
Owls are one of my absolute favorites I have a lot of them. This is one of the best tutorials. I like how things are explained. These two are great.
Cook you are the best !!!

Thank you for the demonstration.

You sir are nothing short of amazing! I see why jordy soaked as much knowledge from you as possible. Thank you for the videos. I am going to keep searching for a cut by cut so I can pause and really digest why that cut is important. Again thank you for all you do. I need to learn to carve these, I sure can't afford to buy them or I would. They are FANTASTIC!

Ryan, I just started carving two weeks ago. I only carved 3 jack-o-lanterns so far using a Stihl MSA200 C with a pruning bar. I put them in my succulent shop for sale and to my surprise. I sold two the first day and made enough to purchase a dime tip bar and chain. Thank you for the detailed how to videos. I plan to try a more complicated carving soon. Keep the great videos coming.
Wicked that’s freaking AWESOME !! Great call on spending money to make money. That’s epic. Carving bar will change you’re game
Very cool I have a stump and knew was going to be a owl but I was kinda scared to start now I think I can get it done.
Ryan I just want to say thank you once again, and I'm sure glad that we don't have to pay for these videos by the minute. In the last 3 days I've probably got 20 hours watching your videos. I'd like them every time if I could but they only let you do it once. Once again man hell of a job. I got a horned owl I got to fix you say it's way too big. My first bear is almost done now. All thanks to you buddy
I appreciate that! well if you wnted to pay i will be doing lessons soon lol
custom ones lol
Hey Ryan, glad to see you are sharing your talents in teaching others while doing amazing work. Thanks for all the tech. information. Echo equipment has always been my favorite along with Makita tools.
My pleasure!
I did my 1st chainsaw cut today a chair. It's going well . Now my wife wants a coffee table and another matching chair.
But your carvings are to die for sir AWSOME . But I'm gonna try owls and fish or Hawks . Think I can do this in my old age just starting at 62 years young .
But your a great inspiration to me . Gonna follow your videos for sure . 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

I've always wanted you to do a video like this. Thanks for explaining the differences and uses of the tools you use to create these fantastic carvings.
thanks what did you think of the new bear one?
It was comprehensive, and the motion text was a nice touch. Your carving is always entertaining and educational for me.
Awesome vid. Love how the eyes came out.
Thank you! Cheers!

Ryan Cook Carves TV, if you could show a slower step by step on the faces of the two owls you did in this video that would help out a lot thanks Ryan , also I’m going to go and do my first live carving next Sunday any suggestions should I keep it simple or just go for it.
Ryan On Sunday I will be able to be there from 8 am - 6 pm

Video. Thanks
🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻
👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you like them!
Jordy sent me here.
Hey Ryan this is great work you do! Wondering what type of full face respirator you use in this video?
Awsome owls man what kinds of paints and finish do you put on them if you don't mind
Verry Nice! Is it like airpainting? Beautifully
Another great vid. Appreciate the detailed explanation of the steps and tools used. I've been trying to learn airbrush but have constant problems with thinning paint, clogging etc. What model airbrush do you use? Consider an airbrush tutorial discussing technique, paint types, paint thinning etc?
Great to hear!
If I only had a chainsaw.......🎶
How are we supposed to follow that? Awesome job mind!
Luar biasa Mr❤️👍🙏
thanks
Could you show me a picture of your eye carving bit
Best instructional video ever! I'm having a tough time with using lodgepole pine where I'm from. (Cracking) What product do you use for staining/treating?
I don’t often carve with any pine. But there is a video for fixing cracks check that out
Omg!!!!
Do you ever carve larch or fur? You make this look so easy, thanks for sharing.
no i dont really fir will rot and larch i have never carved .. i 100% use cedar unless its a stump job
Truly Awesome!
So impressive. How much for one of those owls?
550
Hello Ryan. What is the tool that you use that has the flapper wheel on it that you use towards the end?
Do you air brush for exterior carvings? If so, what type of varnish do you use? Most exterior varnish will give an Amber colour, thus loose whites.
Nice owls what kind of paint are you using in airbrush
that i dont remember but you just reminded me i need reducer .. lol thank you
Great work. Where to get the eye dremel eye bit.
saburrtooth
I'm trying to get started with a chainsaw agol grinder
awesome
what do you charge for your owls??
What do you do with green wood regarding finishing?
try to get it surface dry
What do you use to oil/varnish them afterwards?
