I was just looking for a video of this arkenstone replica. After about 8 years of looking out for stone that looked similar to the one in the movies, this is definitely still the best one. I've probably known about it for years, looks like I will finally have to order one too. Your mount looks amazing! I got so much more than just the unboxing I was looking for, I got confirmation how great it looks when lit with a little light. A wonderful gem, displayed on a wall that deserves it.
yeah you're right and that's why I still like the Badali version, but the 1 shown in the Hobbit is still my favorite look. Thanks for commenting Antonio!
@@thecyberhobbit good point! I always thought the arkenstone in the movies looked a more like I imagined the silmarils. In fact, I think it fits perfectly with blue and yellow light radiating outward as if the light of Laurelin and Telperion was captured in it - a beautiful effect.
Omg….that is way too freaking cool and awesome. Love the custom you built for it. Phenomenal. Your room for the lighting is outstanding. I just love that wall. Cool how you had the dwarves out while mounting. That arkenstone is unbelievably awesome. Love the lighting for it as it should be. Cheers buddy, another great video.
Thanks Alfred really appreciate the compliment! Yeah I didn't want to risk anything dropping on the Dwarves so thought it best for them to be clear out of the way. The Arkenstone is very cool I was surprised I didn't see more of them on the FB LOTR group. Thanks for the comment man!
Hi there! Thanks I appreciate it, it's taken a while to get it to this point. I'm hopefully going to be doing a room tour video soon. I always thought Thorin had an amazing looking pipe :D
Hey there, sorry I honestly just don't really have time. You could however get it 3d printed at an online 3d print farm (I recommend Craftcloud3d). I just put the models into their instant quote feature and it looks like around $70 (including shipping). I'm also not the best at painting either but this project was mostly just spray paint. The only time I used an actual brush was for doing some touch ups.
This looks fantastic! I've had my eye on Dreamsphere for a while but haven't seen many reviews. Will you be getting the Palantir/Seeing Stone as well? Thanks
Yeah I saw very few so that's what encouraged me to make the review... I definitely recommend it. REALLY considering the Seeing Stone just need to figure out a place to put it before I hit the buy button :D
@@thecyberhobbit Well you did a really good review on it, I will definitely be thinking about getting one, or the Seeing Stone, soon. If you do get a Seeing Stone you could even 3D print a display for it too. N2Darkness or AStivision made a brilliant display stand if you haven't seen it!
Hi there... haven't really thought about it but I'm more inclined to just having it as an open source/free thing as it only took me about an hour or so using Tinkercad to make it.
I believe you're right but most if not all of my replicas are based on the versions seen in the films so having an arkenstone like the one seen in the Hobbit was my goal. Appreciate your comment! 😄👍

Thanks for the kind words! You won't regret it, this thing is beautiful!
The Badali one is very accurate to how the book describes the Arkenstone which makes it sound multi-faceted and almost perfectly round

@@thecyberhobbit definitely! Just found this channel and subscribed. Been on a Tolkein kick lately and your reviews are fantastic! Keep it up :)

This was the best arkenstone i have ever seen,+ the 3d printing made it only better than it was when you got it, really good video 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Olav! yeah its definitely the closest thing I've seen to the Arkenstone depicted in the films.
Awesome replica and custom wallmount! Great job!
Thank you very much!
I have this stone too in my collection, your custom mount is beautiful.
Thank you!
A fool, but a crafty talented fool he remains. Well done sir :)
thank man!

I found my new favorite channel what a beautiful room
Thanks Jose I really appreciate that!
You are the best!
no YOU! thanks for the support
Dude is that your room? You're living the dream! I got myself a pipe as well and I see you've been using yours haha

Looks insane!
It's a really nice replica, definitely the best Arkenstone I've seen.
Would you consider making a duplicate for sale? I have no access to a 3d printer nor good painting skills.

that is so cool! i would buy something from them but their website looks like its from the 90's and doesn't seem legit.
ik the light looks good behind the Arkenstone, but did you try a laser light from behind, pointed at an angel?
I didn't try that but it sounds like an interesting idea, might need a thick laser for it to really show but could be cool!
Have you thought about marketing your 3D printed Arkenstone container? There's several forums that delve into these type of custom made items.

Nice job Cyber Hobbit. What holds the Arkenstone in place?
I forgot to film it but I put a very small amount of wall mounting putty for it to stand on. Thanks for commenting!
dude, I gotta ask, what is your job? because I see some pretty hardcore design gear on your desk :)
Software Developer, thanks for commenting!
Are they still available?
yes I believe so, his website is a little out dated but he still takes orders
@@thecyberhobbit Thank you.
I've looked at the Dreamsphere Arkenstone before but every time I go on their site I get a " Not Secure " warning. That has kept me from buying one.
yeah his website doesn't have a valid SSL certificate but the buy link goes to paypal which is secure.
Didn’t Tolkien describe the arkenstone as perfectly rounded? Like a sphere?
