This was the first game i ever owned for my ps2 because it was a budget title by the time i got one. for $20 it was totally worth the money. the bikes handling like ass, the news reports...oh man so camp and fun despite being very clearly limited by time and budget. i need to go back and finish this one.
@@ughaghost You can definitely see what a bigger budget could have made this game, it had so much potential! At least the news reports are A Grade brilliance.. haha
@@THHDReviews It had at the time rather big budget. I think I meant that when he got the game he bought it for a budget price. Not the full release price. And yes the new report are meant to be campy. Remember that at the time of having actors and footage was considered rather high budget. And using a orchestra to record music was not common at all. About time it was not so limited either, of course like all games at the time it often got rushed in the end. But compared to other titles I would say time and budget wise it was above average :)
@@litjellyfish yeah, you're definitely right there, I'd say it's more just allocation of the budget, and time spent on certain things could have probably been handled a little wiser! At the end of the day the deadlines aren't gonna be too flexible on a dead console.. haha

Shame we didn't get this on Dreamcast in the US. But we did get the PS2 port and the sequel. Be nice if the original Headhunter got remastered for both current consoles and pc.
@@Gruntvc I'd say if the Dreamcast didn't get discontinued it probably would have made its way over! @@THHDReviews Actually dont be so sure about it. Remember that at this point in time SEGA US and SEGA EU was pretty petty bickering about everything. @@litjellyfish you'd think they'd try to claw back some lost money in the US, but it makes sense given they didn't even give Shenmue 2 a Dreamcast release after the money pit those games were! Haha
You can get the game to play on a US Dreamcast with a GameShark VMU. Load any cheat unto the VMU from the GameShark disc, remove the disc, then insert whatever PAL Dreamcast game you want to play. It's how I played this game, REZ, Shenmue II, and few other region locked games.
I loved this game back around 2002-2003 or so when I first played it. If I'm remembering correctly I felt like the game fell off around the start of Disc 2. I can't recall exactly what I didn't like about it. One thing I thing was the locations. The ship and big warehouses were boring compared to the interesting locations of Disc One.
Funny I still have this game and don't remember any of the story, also I forgot that there was a PS2 version and that Redemption, on the PS2 and Xbox ever existed.
@@blaquenoise I imagine they spent so much money that it would have been silly not to port the game over given when it was released. That being said, I'm surprised it was successful enough to get a sequel!

@@Django286 it definitely firmly sits in the 'not bad' category! Haha
We'd never get another sequel, 'cause who would even care?
