The rush hour traffic and the wondering roads are worth mentioning. You didn't say anything about the companies that are now bailing out of RTP. I heard Apple is one of them.
Thanks for the comment! Apple is not bailing and we have yet to hear of anyone bailing. Apple paused construction on its campus since it's an expensive environment for any type of new development. By pausing, they will save a ton of money, especially with the Fed, to begin cutting rates here in September. It makes a lot of sense. There's also the option to just buy an office rather than build with the weakness in commercial RE right now, specifically in the office space.
As a Silicon Valley resident who would love to leave Cali and move to NC, but cannot b/c of job opportunities in the tech industry, I was too hopeful when I heard that Apple, Meta and Google are thinking of opening site locations in the Raleigh are, but that was cancelled back in 2022, and will not resume.

The main way to differentiate the two main parts of Cary are the MacGregor side of town and the Preston side of town. The MacGregor side has easy access to RALEIGH, most of the major medical facilities including the hospital, more native Southerners, the new downtown area, much less property crime, but the houses and shops are maybe not as new and shiny as the Preston side (at least on the outside). The Preston side has easy access to RTP & DURHAM (but a large percentage of Preston folks who need to get to Raleigh daily have to cut through the MacGregor side), more Northern transplants, more property crime, generally shinier buildings than the MacGregor side, but smaller lots and less mature trees that have been around for a century or more. Take your pick, but as a native Southerner, the choice is obvious.
@@RaleighRealty You are welcome. Real estate people do not seem to be asking people - where will you be working and will you drive there daily? If someone moves to Cary and needs to get to Raleigh and back every day, buying a house on the Preston side of town adds an extra 45 minutes to an hour of commute time if they are taking the Cary Parkway to get to Highway 1/64 every day.
@@nothingman27511 great point! Commute time is a great question especially when considering the area's growth. A good reminder to all Realtors to be sure to ask about commute times especially if living in Cary and commuting to Raleigh!
